Ole's tactics for that game was spot on, especially the second half. We pinned them to their half, prevented them from playing out from the back and snuffed out all threats. At the same time we were having chances upon chances to score but Rashford and Martial keep playing like idiots.

We had 7 shots on target and 7 shots off target for crying out loud. 14 freakking shots!!! If that's not due to tactics, tell me what could carve out such chances. Martial alone missed like 3 one on ones. It's not as if they're not creating chances. They are, they just refused to bury it.

If every solution is to spend and spend huge, there's no guarantee there. Barca has wasted a lot of money spending big on players. For all RM huge spending that brought success, at least in the last decade or so, Ronaldo was the major factor. RM could have spent big on every player and still not do shit without Ronaldo.

It's unfair to say we've not been spending. We have the most expensive CB and CM. Everyone agrees that Martial and Greenwood has some goal scoring talents. For all City spending, they won't have achieved the results they've had and broken those records if not for Pep's tactics and style of play. Ole has the potential to become something big, I have seen some evidence. He just needs to be more consistent and brutal. He needs to demand more from the players and put some names on the bench for a game or two.
