Very funny. ![]() Anyway, I do understand there are rules guiding participantion in this reputable forum that has over the years become the source of information and a place where people can voice their opinions. So, therefore, it's expedient we are conscious and adhere to the rules in other to enjoy the privilege availed us. However, as at the time I viewed this thread after long abstinence though unintended, the comparison between Abraham and Osimhen, who's better, who is best was in debate. Don't forget Osimhen is a super eagles player. Stats were dropped and it brought about the comparison between their clubs and leagues. This was how Chelsea, Ligue 1, EPL etc came into the picture and argument ensured. I don't know if that was the case before I surfaced. The point here is, talk na em bring talk but I am not saying we should dwell to long on it. Moreover, as long as we are enthusiastic about football, and our best players plays in Europe which is the best in the world, it's inevitable to admire, reflect and discuss about the best leagues, clubs, coaches, tactics, matches etc, and wish our players get to play in one the best leagues, clubs, and under these best coaches with better tactics and pattern that will suit and improve our players. Abi, if you didn't watch Athletico Madrid play, how did you know that club will not improve Chuks? How did you know Turkish league is not good enough for Iheancho if you only focused on national team football? I think they both complement each other. Nevertheless, we have to balance things here. We need to mind those who feel uncomfortable and those who feels uncomfortable should also show understanding else there be problem if both parties insist on their "right" or "opinion". IDENNAA: You want to prove WHAT on faceless forum to give yourself credence to what purpose recognition. You are indeed suffering with low self esteem. I don't know but find your claim to be very very doubtful. Because people who are educatrd in Nigeria have considerably better appreciation of the socio-economic and cultural dynamics in the USA than you do. You may reflect that common phenomenon where a person lives in a country but lives socially excluded. That is too say you may work in the USA but you don't live there. It seems paradoxical but let me explain. There are people who work and reside in the USA just like the UK. But don't engage with society as a result you have Somalians who have resided in the UK for 30 years. But cannot speak any English. So they are resident but don't live here, because to live means to be full engaged with society not excluded. Their entire social interaction are with a limited set of people, there own people. That's why you find some Nigerians that have lived here for 20 years plus but still cannot speak English properly. Or are unable to integrate and or engage with English society in it fullness. Why because they associate only with their own people. My cousin left Nigeria from a university teaching Hospital in South South about 6 months ago. He now works in a hospital where his entire socio engagement and interaction are with White English people in the North of England. In that small time his accent and diction have changed his mannerisms too. His appreciation of socio culture dynamics as well. You would think he has been here for over 15 years. You however are the opposite. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

My goodness! What is going on in here?? Damn! Semid4lyfe, Sorry for the mention again as I can see that several monikers have given you mentions here already. As you know Sir, I am for anything that keeps this thread going in the right direction and I have said that off-topics like Euro Club to Club talks and other Euro football likes can always be brought up from time to time as talks definitely lead to talk. Just like Egbon Forgiveness have pointed out. I only ask that we in here act maturedly to not dwell unnecessarily too much on them so as not to see this place transform into some form of Euro banter house. Now I just found out from a quick read of the past few pages that you banned Joebie. Now, as you know... I am not in league with him one bit but you must understand that he is one of our top contributors in here. You must understand that I do this just b'cos of people that come in here to read news, see stats, and more as regards Naija Players. There are many people who read this thread b'cos of me, and there are others who read this thread b'cos of TheGoodjoe or Safarigirl or even BascoVanVeli or even Icon4s... And I assure you there several others who read this thread b'cos of Joebie. I apologise on his behalf for anything he might have said to cause the ban. Please do this for the purpose of this thread. This is the only home of Naija Football on NL and we need our top guns. Unban Joebie please. I understand the rules. But I pray you to kindly understand this thread has certain people who keep it going. I know being a mod is not easy and not everyone will agree with your decisions sometimes but please Sir... Do this for this thread. Thank you. P.S: I cannot believe the ruckus that followed after I logged out. Wow. Please let us all calm down. Chriskels... Sheath that sword. It's enough please. Merci. 4 Likes |

ChrisKels: When I first went to high school in Warri, l couldn't understand pidgin English. I couldn't understand, Igbo or Uhrobo. But there is learning and adaptation by association a big % is even unconscious, but it becomes ingrained and second nature by continous practice. I learned these Nigerian languages by participation, association, integration, and continous engagement. In Nsukka if you did not sprwak Igbo and you want to buy something the price automatically goes right up. I have a white Caucasian friend he is a Financial adviser from Liverpool. He went to take elocution lessons because his accent created a perception of ineptitude. When you arrive in the UK and you are working 12 hours shifts in a hospital and over time. You spend much more time with your colleagues on the hospital, than with anybody else it's inevitable that you change. Many years ago l was on a USAF base in Germany. After a while my accent changed to an American one just by continous association. It's not Faking it's unconscious and conscious adaptation by continous association. But if for instance you are in the UK and all your engagements are with your own people, kparakpo. You remain unchanged and many will swear you have never been to Onitsha talk less of London. Go stay village for one year in isolation after some time you would sound like a village man and at this stage you will have village mentality. That's why we say some people passed through the university but the university did not pass through them. I think you are one of them. 6 Likes 1 Share |

TheSuperNerd: I think you really need to understand that folks here didn't just jumped into this club and leagues discussion all of a sudden... the prolong debate and comparism of all super eagles players and others brought the discussion....and moreover that's the major football going on now. Just that I think some folks are intimidated with some discussions here because left to me I don't see this discuss as issues and moreover it is always done once a while 1 Like |
