Madrid is one of those clubs u said United should emulate. They are top 3 richest club in the world like us. They have spent an average of 200m per season for the last 2 seasons just to win the league. They have been breaking transfer revords since time immemorial to stay at the top. They dont have 2 heads.

Yes, they spent average of 200m but they did average of 110m in inflows to reduce that.

2019/20 Madrid's outflow was 317.25m and inflow was 117m
2018/19, Madrid's outflow was 146.48m and inflow was 120.69m

BTW, why did you not pick last 5 years or something? see below transfer flows between 2014 and 2018. Madrid spent less than 100m in 3 seasons and slightly above 100m in one season. Dont even talk about net spend o, just outflow. It shows that Madrid, one of the big boys actually dont spend heavily everytime. They change managers to utilize what they have.

2017/18, Madrid's outflow was 36.45m and inflow was 115.64m
2016/17, Madrid's outflow was 27m and inflow was 33.75m
2015/16, Madrid's outflow was 76.5m and inflow was 14.09m
2014/15, Madrid's outflow was 113.4m and inflow was 101.4m

Two years ago, Madrid's net spend in 5 seasons was -95m (negative), and they won 4 UCL trophies.

Been a while I saw this monicker. The crisis brought you back? Lol

We actually need just about two signings, I don't think it's too much an ask. If dem no sign, we'll have to play catch up all season. Anyone with eyes and brain knows this first team needs reinforcement. We've steadily released/sold players these past two windows. If we fail to sign, Ole would most likely fail, then gets sacked, new manager comes in, gets a solid transfer, then is left hanging again. Wash, rinse, repeat.

i don't think Ole will get sacked.
if we fail to sign anybody
the glazers will ''trumpet the trust your manager'' story
and the fans won't make so much noise because ole is a club legend.

we'll get somebody though am certain of that.
these guys must know that we need to do well for them to keep signing all the sponsorship deals

Madrid don’t even hide theirs grin

Full-blown Galacticos. That’s why most players are attracted to them, a show of status.

Lies, as of 2019, Madrid was number 7 on the log in terms of outflows.

1-2 additions is a reasonable ask. It will happen, but I think fans want 4-5 additions because they see other clubs doing wonders in the market. Fans want OGS to replace 11 players at once, and OGS has stup1dly released 8 players instead of doing what ever overhaul he wants to do gradually.

Must it be Sancho? Also, most of you want the Glazers to fork out another 200m to buy a defender to support dem Magwaya, one midfielder, a RW and a striker. No be lie? Only 1 or 2 players wont make OGS change his behaviour of starting same 11 players!

Also, four out of those players played Europa league and UCl finals, while Smalling is doing okay at Roma.

Please, understand what I am saying o. I did not say we have spent 200m every year, I said we cant be spending 200m every year (as expected by Fans), it's not sustainable! Also, we are one of the big spenders in Europe!
But who said we must spend 200m? With a proper system in place, 120 - 150m can get you very good players with potentials to become great...

Chelsea with Werner, Ziyech, Chilwell, Kai (likely) won't have cost them more than 250m but if we were signing those players, we have spent over 350m and have you come here to say we have spent enough...The problem is deep, we over pay for players especially players who aren't world beaters...

Then start calling out our scouts and negotiators, not Woodward and the Glazers. Also, managers do point and kill, call them out too, dont support OGS even though he replaced 'deadwoods' with Magwaya, AWB, James and Ighalo.

Madrid spent heavily- very heavily - before they got this current team that won multiple UCLs (which is becoming old too BTW). Kaka, Modric, C. Ronaldo, Bale, James Rodriguez etc.

The team that won their last UCL had Zidane, Ronaldo9 , Roberto Carlos, Figo, etc.

They only reduced their inflows when there was success on the pitch and they saw no need for it.

Don’t be surprised if they start spending heavily again.

See OGS praising your scouting department.........diplomacy?

https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/ole-praises-man-united-scouting-department-as-window-opens

Please call out OGS for point and kill stuffs. Ask the Glazers to sack/replace Matt Judge, Nicky Butt, Marcel Bout, Mick Court, and the entire Scouting dept. The Glazers are just shareholders, they dont directly manage the club. They are okay with the departments, if you dont like it, tell them to restructure the depts. When there are issues in companies, the media and market focus on the management, not the shareholders. The market puts pressure on the board to sack the management team, not tell the shareholders to sell!

We are saying the same thing. Madrid spends heavily for like 1-2 years, then slows down for 3-4 seasons, pick things up again afterward. Average spend per year is not up to 200m per year. In the last decade, average spend (not net spend o) was 123.6m Euros per season.

1-2 quality additions is what’s needed. I won’t cry if another 1 -2 squad options are added but that’s for the next season.

We have about 5CBs and 3 full backs and about 1 or 2 CBs who can slot in the fullback position when fixtures become hectic. Things are not 100% fine there but we can still manage- heck we had one of the nest defences last season and a lot of the goals we conceded were due to individual errors.

The midfield needs depth. We’ve only got Matic, Fred, McTom n Pogba. Only Pogba and Matic are the first choice here, and there’s no guarantee that they can offer top performances when things become hectic. Fred and McTom can step up but it’s a disaster when they play together. A quality addition here won’t be bad. Doesn’t need to be expensive too.

Now, it’s glaring from last season that scoring goals is one of our biggest problems. We create loads of chances and just fail to bury them in the back of the net. Before Bruno arrived in January we were parading Lingard and Tikitaka legend Perreira in that attack. Imagine! Lord knows how we coped during that time. We couldn’t create chances and there was a time we scored just one goal in about 3 or 4 games. It was horrible.

It’s obvious we need at least one quality addition in attack. Rashford, Martial and Greenwood are a deadly force when played together. But body no be firewood. Even Bruno sef, when things got hectic, his performance dropped. We just need quality additions that will take over when one player is injured, fatigued due to fixture congestion, or going through a bad spell.

The Glazers aside, scoring goals has been our biggest problem since SAF retired.

Since SAF retired:
We have not hit 70 league goals a season.
We have hit 70+points a season only once.

In LVG's 2nd season, we scored about 45 goals the whole season. That's a goal per match. I'm glad i dont remember much of that season sha coz 45 goals.....omo! grin

Outflow of 106m in 07/08,
74m in 08/09,
232.6m in 09/10,
83.7 in 10/11, and
49.5m in 11/12.

Tell me the trend. They spent heavily in 2009/10, but then, the following 2 years, they spent 130m.

The likes of Madrid/Chelsea make a lot from player sales because they have sensible people in charge of those negotiations. Madrid would have gotten like 30m to 40m from Sanchez sale.

But in our own club, we have fools who handout bumper contracts to players who do next to nothing which directly affects their transfer fees when we want to sell.

If United, cant use money from player sales to bankroll transfers, then they can at least use income from other sources to do that....but they cant coz they have to first of all pay themselves consultancy fees and then service debts they incurred on the club with whatever is left.

We sold Ronaldo for 80m. But we used 30m to buy 2 average joes in Obertan and Valencia just to replace Ronaldo.
The remaining 50m must have been used to payoff the Glazers for their troubles.

The money was used to purchase 4 players, and 2 are overpriced.

They're not worth that because they're in your club. When he leaves, it will feel like they're worth that.
