Somebody has been on this thread for donkey years since 2017 and is still here actively commenting because of the goodness of his heart. Lol

Na statement like the above they make people no want to help or answer others. I have been here since 2015/2016. Abeg, I don charge anyone here? If I charge you, please provide evidence.

Please watch you say on this thread because it reflects your personality and thoughts. If you think this is just an online platform, I can tell you that previous persons from here have helped me greatly. Someone from here paid one of my application fee without collecting the money back. Someone from nairaland came to pick me at the airport (That was the first time I met him). I also live with and became close friend with Another “older” folks from here. Let’s be cautious with the way we talk to one another.

By the way, it is not a big deal to charge someone for time, although I don’t do it for this process. If you think it is not worth it, then do it yourself. This platform is for people that want to do it themselves. If you can’t read to do that, don’t be offended if someone else charge you for their time. My time is worth more than $40 per hour and I choose to give it out for free when I am available. Others may not have the freedom and capacity to do that. Rather than blame them, check yourself and your commitments.

All the best.

@Luckymama, I read your outbursts towards @FrankRobbn1 and initially ignored it as an emotional rant of someone facing something or her time of the month (no insult to women) but two hours after it occurred to me that if I didn't express my opinion on this thread it would be unfair to all those who have good intentions.

I just started following this thread last year and one of the characters that stood out to me amongst many are @FrankRobbn1, @Lekibiboe @Osemigho @ConradAce and I learnt a lot from reading their advice not just to me, but other forum members. I have never been charged for any advice by anyone

Like the saying goes, "Good people suffer when the just keep silent over an injustice". Your attacks of @FrankRobbn1 were overboard and unwarranted and an injustice. If it were the other way round, so called feminists would be spitting bile. Do not give what you cannot take.

You need to formally apologize to him for no other reason but basic human decency.

I learnt a lot from this forum from @FrankRobbn about GCMS notes, Webform, VAC, BIL, BVL, etc that I never knew of before coming here.

You can express your opinion without casting aspersions to people's reputation without evidence.

Have you considered, the ramifications of your outbursts on other well meaning members here who may decide to zone out and lock up to avoid this kind of attack? Especially from people with first hand experience.

to @FrankRobbn1 and other well meaning "gurus" please take no offence but solace in the fact that technology is a blessing and a curse. The internet made it possible for this. If we were all still in the primitive paper application days, I doubt this forum would be available for us to learn or expose you all to this unwarranted attacks from internet empowered insolent characters. Continue with your kind deeds. Love and Light like the ICONS of Laycon would say grin

Profile
He is 17 years and graduated in 2018. He applied for a 2 years diploma program in a college for computer science that cost $9500 a year. His father and paternal uncle are sponsoring him, his uncle is a U.S. citizen.

Document submitted

For financial documents
Fathers affidavit of support

Fathers international passport

Uncles letter of support (could not be notarized due to the riot and covid that time, according to him it was difficult for his uncle to get docs during that time so that was only doc he put for uncle, this was mentioned in the LoE. Had his signature on it)

Uncles international passport

Fathers proof of business ownership

Fathers proof of landed properties (2 or 3 lands)

Proof of cars (2 cars)

Fathers Bank statement for company showing inflow and outflow of 18m with current balance of 800k

Fathers personal bank statement with inflow and outflow of 17m

In Client information
LoE

High school Transcript

High school testimonial

Mothers nin slip

Sisters birth certificate

His nin slip

and an xtra bank statement with an account with inflow and outflow

In his LoE he explained that after his program he would come back and be a director in his fathers company spear heading the IT department and how CS is relevant in 9ja,(how zuckerberg and twitter guy have been coming and all that), also explained his gap years by working in his fathers company and understanding how it works. He also has a brother currently a student in Canada. Apart from that his father, mother and sister are in 9ja

Personal I think he did well on the application and refusing him on 4 reasons is too much

Gcms note is in the process of being ordered for.

Any advice for him?
He had a lot of hope for this

His parent is his best sponsor but All these documents does not show that the papa can afford it. Statement Inflow and outflow is good when the balance is good.

He really said he will be the IT Director after 2 year diploma at age 19 with zero years of experience? What does that tell you about the dad’s company? If you own GTB, Glo, or First Bank, will you make such a profile an IT director? The other fact is that It takes a lot to be Zuckerberg, but Diploma is definitely not one of it because Zuckerberg does not have one. In sum, his statement of purpose is not realistic. A more realistic alternative is for him to transfer to a degree, complete the degree, and then return for NYSC and resume in his dad’s company at a higher IT, definitely not a director, position.

I would allow others to address other issues. Take my advise gently, I am not a guru.

All the best.

Good day happy people.

Please I am about submitting my application but I have a couple of question.

I got admission for a PGD program in Sault College for Automated Manufacturing(I have a BSc in Electronics and Computer Technology)

Is it necessary for my sponsor to provide payslip in addition to salary account statement?
Their was an error in my WAEC date of birth(different from my international passport date of birth). Do I need to explain this in the SOP?
I have sufficient transaction and balance(8M) for six months in my personal account(different from my salary account). Do I need to explain the source of funds because I already have a sponsor.

Gurus kindly help.

Thanks.

Good Evening Everyone,

Please is it possible to open a Canadian bank account from Nigeria? There is no Nigerian domiciliary account that operates in CAD, and I urgently need a Canadian account. Is there any other means for transferring CAD from Canada to someone in Nigeria?

I would appreciate your responses

No Nigerian bank operates in CAD. And you can't open a Canadian bank bank from Nigeria without a valid address in Canada and a Visa. Your best option is to open a domicilary account and transfer the funds in USD.

Oga Frankrobbn I did not accuse you of anything. I said Maybe. The discussion you and I had was not in anyway insulting (even though you were slightly condescending in your response when you told me
1. I was hilarious for disputing that a student can easily recoup 4K dollars in a few months.
2. You also said I know nothing about how things work and you are going to educate me.
3. You also said I was disputing with you because I can’t afford the 4K for judicial review)

Every other thing I have said here has been in response to your defenders who have trooped out to insult and berate me. They were quite insulting and in defending myself I may have gone overboard.

I did not mean to accuse you or insult you. I am sorry for casting aspersions on your character but we all know there’s nothing new under the sun.

But simply because you know you are held in high esteem here on this board I will plead that you endeavor to be a bit more circumspect in your claims. Some people read what you write and immediately act on it without question. It’s not fair to give advice that is not necessarily in their best interests.

Once again I am sorry. Please overlook whatever I may have said to insult you. The tongue and teeth do quarrel but they must make up afterwards.

I am not a know it all. I just say what I see. I actively comment on the thread because I know I have benefited a lot from what I have read here and I try to give back in what little way I can.

We Nigerians don’t like to tell the truth. You are attacking and insulting me now because you don’t like what I am saying. But you know it’s the truth.

I am active on this thread now because this is the stage of life I am in. If God wills and I move on to the next stage, I will move on to other things. How many of the commenters on this thread from 2017 are still here? Anxieties of life has moved them on. They are struggling with school, jobs, bills and mortgages.

But you can all believe and do whatever you want and wish.

So because you are the type to eat and move on, you dont believe in people that dedicate their life to giving back?
The first day I called Frank, he didnt even act weird about how I got his number.
He replies my messages at night and early mornings.
He calls me back when I give him missed calls.
I have never met him and he has no reason whatsoever to give me audience.

But this is who he is! So respect him for his personality.

Regardless it will give you more light on how to go about it . For example you might need to transfer the living expenses from your sponsor to your personal account and explain it out.

Dear Nwanyiokpa,
it is well. you will scale through eventually . please have your brother transfer the funds to you instead of using his entire bank statement .
dear veterans ,
please accept my apologies on behalf of lucky mama. we are all prone to be out of order at some point in time or the other .

however , everyone here including the veterans are leaning daily. we are ultimately responsible for the decisions we make with regards our visa applications irrespective of what advice we receive . Personally i can testify that Frank has helped me a whole lot severally. i dare say my application was very uncomplicated as i was totally self funded and already travel exempt. but i sought his advice severally. i did not always agree with his advice ooooh. so i filtered what i needed to hear and applied what i had in my heart to do and it worked for me. i was not lazy and waiting to be spoon fed as most of us on this platform are. trust me i did my own share of work. when frank said 2 pages sop in my mind i said okay and did my 6 pages properly. you have to own your application but be humble enough to ask for help.
during the entire aip bruhaha, i kept quite because i was sure it was a great positive. i followed my heart and i have received a research assistant position from my professor . i am glad i did not defer as many people did during the aip

the veterans keep this platform going

Your first reply to Frank was objective but your follow up comments were emotional and totally unnecessary. This is someone that helped you in your time of need.

I agree Frank exaggerated a bit when he said you can easily recoup the Judicial review money as a student when you get to Canada in few months.

The actual reason I am responding to you is because of your comments above. I mean no disrespect, you need to fix your heart. I do not dispute the fact that some people on this thread may be here for financial gains but to suggest that someone cannot be on this forum for years and help people freely says a lot about who you are as a person.

Someone on this forum helped me in 2018 when I moved into Canada for the first time. This man took me as a son and took care of all my needs for about 2 weeks. He took me to his house, made me meet his family and took me to a restaurant to celebrate my birthday.
This Nairalander has been on this forum for over 5 years, a Canadian citizen and he is very active on here. He has helped several others from this forum before me. He helped most people coming to London, Ontario settle in.

I have been on this forum actively since 2018 and I have no plans of leaving anytime soon. I have accommodated at least 3 Nairalanders when I was a student living in my small basement for free. I have proof read several applicant's LOE and SOP's on this forum for free. I have helped people with their visa issues on this forum for free and I will continue doing that even though I am now done with education and presently working in Canada. Do you know why? In my time of need back then in 2018, it was frank who answered my questions.

P.s Till today, I have never sent an email to Frank, I do not have his contact and I don't know what he looks like. I asked him some questions openly on this forum, he answered me freely and I got my visa. I am forever grateful to him.

Just because of how weird you think, I need to put this out here.
If I have ever demanded money from anyone on this forum, please let them call me out openly.

One of the major reasons why I have stopped responding to PM's or emails is because a lot of you applicants think because someone suggests something, there is a financial gain attached to it. I must confess, It is actually hard helping some people. They will come back to bite you.

What is wrong with Frank suggesting people go for judicial review if he thinks they stand a chance? It is an advise and not by force.

Thanks my brother for the compliments and attestations about me. You're a rare gem . I wish you all the best in all of your endeavours in London, Canada.

Hello MamaIva,

This may not fly except you want to claim that the said person is a very close family member. It should be a cosponsorship application rather than a sole sponsorship from a third party taking age, work experience, the available funds into consideration. Also note that as a single parent, you have to demonstrate how the wellbeing of your child will be cater for both financially and socio-culturally except you want to claim the child will be under the financial responsibility of the father or your parents. There again, it will be only right if you can demonstrate they are financially stable and an undertsking to this agreement.

Hello Luckymama,

If you're apologizing tender it with remorse feeling not because you will be disconnected from the thread.

Learn to talk when in the public domain because few people of such are here in Canada bring bad name to all Nigerians. Ensure you words pass through the three gates before you make your utterances.

Frank let the sleeping dog lie.

Na so bad people dey spoil people with good conscience that they'll not help those in need.

I pray dis should be fulfilled in your life James 1v5 ----So if any one of you is lacking in wisdom, let him keep asking God,+ for he gives generously to all and without reproaching,*+ and it will be given him.

Once in a while I read through travel threads just to see what’s happening around the world.
This evening I decided to read this thread and I saw a battalion of people attacking a lady @luckymama simply because she voiced her opinion about a highly regarded person here.
I believe that there is freedom of expression and people should not have to feel intimidated because their opinion is not accepted. Almost all the comments are not even because of the so called “business” claim she made against frank, but more of “so after he helped you”, or “because you have gotten AIPP”. Nigerians seriously He helped her & so? Is he God? How many times has God reminded us of everything he has done for us? Did someone not also help him during his time? I don’t understand the sudden harsh comments towards her. Is it everyone that frank has coached that got visa? No! Lucky mama just has grace. No matter how many of you are regretting that you once congratulated her for getting AIPP, it doesn’t change anything. She has gotten it & approval will follow soon. So stop all these attacks & making her feel down because she voiced her opinion. Besides there’s always truth in every claim. There’s no way she will come out with such opinion if she has never felt such energy from him or his perspective. I hate when I see people throwing stones at somebody because their opinion defers! No body is God. If you help somebody and they did not come back to say thank you, don’t feel offended but rejoice that you have done good. How many people came back to thank Jesus after getting healed? But did he stop healing? No! Did his disciples attack others wanting healing? No! Please and please let’s learn to respect people’s opinion & ignore unnecessary ones. You frank disciples should not attack anyone that opposes him without fair hearing. At the end of the day, his blessings will not stop coming regardless of anything or anyone. Godbless you all

Let me bounce out smiley cool wink

Please this matter has cooled down, leave it that way.
