Has all the PDP States governors fulfil a quarter of the promises they made since 2015?

You're part of the problem we have that's militating against development in Nigeria today.

We as a people need to get rid of you and your ilks on NAIRALAND and Nigeria as a whole if we must move forward.

Why haven't your govt. Made it possible to run a system of governance where by state govt. are empowered therefore local govt too becomes active. for about 8years you're still following the path of those you criticized to gain power at the centre. Its an old known fact that true federalism will aid good governance.

Fashola un na no try o

What he says may have some merit. But when NOI complained of state govs being a clog, I remember this man, Amaechi and co antagonising her viciously. To them, all things evil emanated from the Fed gov/centre.

The issue is, given his antecedent, double-speak and hypocrisy, there is a major credibility gap with Fashola . He lost credibility after he left office as gov. Desperate to remain politically relevant, will say anything and oppose anyone regardless. Remember the Power solution in 6 months? I’m sure he knew he was embellishing when he said that

He isn’t credible and should fem. If this had come from the likes of NOI or others who have stuck to a consistent message, fine. Not from this hypocrite abeg
Do you yourself have credibility?

You do realize you haven't passed any concrete message with all that verbosity...

The only thing you have succeeded in doing is painting governance like it's rocket science, which it is not!!!

In the first place, does Nigeria run a regional or decentralized government??!
Spot on bro, spot on. A lot of folks here are just addicted to typing elaborate nonsense. Wanting to seem or sound smart, but achieving just the opposite. Thanks for puncturing that flawed argument with finesse. Lol

Nigerians can throw a fit and don't know how to react rationally.

Fashola just said the truth really but Nigerians take pride in being antagonistic and they love the Deja vu; I guess there is a thrill to it embedded in us.

Basic amenities like that are to be covered by the State Government. The FG can't be everywhere and they embark on projects that take years to accomplish: rails, roads, ports etc.

Nigeria has so much challenges that a government can achieve so little in eight years, especially with corruption so endemic and institutionalized.

Listen(sic), before you mention. You would keep moaning and groaning and wailing for eight years of Buhari and then the next government and then the next, until you realise the fundamental details of governance and hold them sensibly to it, devoid of emotions or sentiments or prejudice.

I feel a need to reemphasize. This is NOT about APC/ Buhari or what no. I am feeling the burning effects of the economic downturn but I am grateful to God for the ability to detach emotion for rationality.

This clearly shows that the present administration built their government on lies and deceit.
They capitalized on the low intelligent Nigerians, knowing fully well most of these things were runned by the state or at state level.
They are now in the power they sought, and they deemed it wise to tell us, so why the criticisms and chastisement? The cry of incompetency on the previous administration. It is so bad that someone who claims to think rationally cannot see this present administration as clueless.

The nation has deteriorated in economic and socio state. All promises has failed.
We dont even run regional nor decentralized power system in Nigeria. So they coming out to be blameless is crazy.

States would have been more effective if all revenues from them dont go to the federal government first and then be reallocated back to them. States need total autonomy first and not wait for the federal government to call the shots.

It doesnt make any sense knowing that all the states in Nigeria are blessed with one or more natural resources they can generate income from, but one person in Abuja dictates what can be mined from each state and when. Thinking of the grassroots,, the states and local governments know what they are blessed with and should be in a better position to properly harness their resources, not one person siting somewhere in Abuja and knows nothing about the internal opportunities of these states and respective local governments.

Countries like the US thrive on a model where the states and counties are allowed to look inward, generate their own revenues and send a percentage to the federal government, Nigeria does the opposite and expect the states and local governments to be effective like Fashola just said he expected. The federal government shouldn't even be as powerful as it is today. Sending monthly allocations to the states only gives a few individuals an opportunity to embezzle the funds, whereas allowing the states to generate income from their mineral resources goes a long way in creating job opportunities for their respective locals.

How can a country of over 200million people scream the name of one IGP sitting somewhere in Abuja and expect security issues in states and local governments to be in control? How many heads does the IGP have to handle a complex nation as Nigeria? Same applies to how resources in the nation are managed by one person in a ministry in Abuja and they expect the states to perform when the ministers lack visibilities into the opportunities and pain points each state and local governments have.

Well said. Nigerian politics obscures, hides and confuses. Nigerians are exceptionally easy to mislead because not only are they overconfident about their ignorance, they are primarily led by their prejudices. The fastest dividends of democracy come from the State and LG governments manynof whom have massive majorities in their house assemblies. These are the quick wins that will produce a baseline of shelter, health and education.

But how can they think when they passed through university without thinking? Better to take on the prejudices of their fathers while calling themselves the new generation.

It's sad that we appoint people who speak from both side of the mouth. It's sad that a man who claimed that any serious government can provide constant power within 6 months but failed when given the opportunity has come out to spew this rubbish.

It's really sad if he could tell us to shift focus from the FG to State and LG when in the real sense the FG controls many resources. Why should the FG hold onto certain percentage of revenues if we should focus on the State and LG?.

Why do we have Federal projects when we should focus on State and LG?

Is he trying to say that we have no FG? I still don't know how we got it all wrong.

this is the truth, but Nigerian don't like learning new things, they still believe in impossibilities, and this SAN is trying to open our eyes into the provisions we should really claim for ourselves as established in the 1999 CFRN, yet some people that are chanced to be on this platform to learn and be enlightened about these things so that they can teach the people that don't have such opportunity are the ones criticizing what they should be welcoming with appreciation, change starts from here my people, let us learn from little things before we start aiming at the ones that are very much far from us

Even the ones the FG is responsible for we are not feeling it.

Why are Nigerian Refineries not working?
Why can't we have 24hr electricity?
Why is there insecurity everywhere especially in the North east 5 years after Buhari promised to end it in 3months

Nigerians are not feeling these too and they are exclusive responsibility of the FG.

You don't make promises and later turn back to say these things aren't supposed to be made possible by us but by another sphere of govt.
