Just imagine this nonsense attitude of blame game or passing the buck with anyone associated with this incredibly shamelessly and lying government. This "to produce 24hours electricity is not rocket science" man is just a bloody hypocrite.

The FG is responsible for security, power generation, regulating the economy among many things that has direct bearing on the life the citizens. Now only LGA/State govt are to be blamed or held into accountability while the FG that have endlessly blamed others would have none of it.What does these idiots take Nigerians for?

Alway playing the victim even with blunt hypocrisy! They made a lots of promises which they did just denied but add insult by blaming others except themselves.
They gambled on oil earnings to peak and it didn't work out. Now they have to shift the focus away. The states are in debt too. They have no real control over their resource and so look up the FG who gets the lion's share of oil earnings.

Fashola notes that basic infrastructure like primary healthcare, primary education, among others which Nigerians clamour for, can only be delivered by state and local governments.

This is why I love Fashola, many Nigerians are extremely ignorant about their own country, their rights and expectations.

The FG is an institution that takes care of itself as charged by the Nigerian constitution, the FG also as charged by the constitution hands over funds to governments and local governments in form of monthly allocations to take care of their people at the local level.

Some states collects more than others in form of derivations and NDDC funds even though many of them don't have anything to show for the huge funds they collect every month.

It is the job of your state governors to provide schools, roads, hospitals and other amenities from the allocations they FG sends to your states every month.

People see bad roads in front of their house, bad hospitals and other social amenities and quickly blame the federal government far far away in Abuja instead of their own governors.

The FG is not spending your allocations, your state governors are responsible for all that, but many ignorant Nigerian youths just won't challenge their governors or demand accountability from their governors and when some do, they don't demand the accountability from their own immediate governors, they demand it from governors in far away states because of tribalism and bigotry.

The ignorant and bigoted youths won't demand accountability from their kerosene, wheelbarrow and borehole governors, but they will kill themselves and demand accountability from Joki, from Lagos, from Osun, from Kano, from Kaduna and places far far away from their own useless and incompetent leaders back home.

Just look at them in this thread lashing out at Fashola for educating them about their own social and communal responsibilities.

At the end of the day and after all your irrelevant and sideways rant, you still can not negate Fashola's point that your governors are responsible for your well being at the local level and you still gave to ask your governors what they are doing with your monthly allocations.

They all have their responsibilities, but when are you going to start focusing on the people collecting your allocations to take care of you.?

Fashola doesn't have to tell you that your PDP uncles sold and privatized our power assets aka privatization? Do you not know the meaning of GENCO and DISCO?

Your governors are responsible for security in your state, or do you need Fashola to explain to you the reason why they pocket Billions of Naira every month in for of security votes?

Take Fashola's lecture and redirect you anger to the people collecting allocations and IGR on your behalf in your state.

Fashola is doing his job, even in your state and region, but what are your own local leaders to better your life.

This is why they say Nigerian youths are not ready to govern, they are just too clueless and uneducated about their own country and system of government.

What baffles me about Nigerians is folks that reason like you - a very negative people.

There are many things that can be done at the LGA level that don't require much funding.... if every lga in Nigeria decides to build a well run mini hospital healthcare in Nigeria would have grown exponentially with 6-12 months.... we can all generate excuses or think more critically. Do you know that lga performance can even shame FG into performance?? There was a time Lagos State Government recently outperformed FG and FG stepped up.

I'm not criticising you you have made valid points and I respect your points.
When the head is faulty, what do you expect of the body. When the Federal Government is SICK, how do you expect State and Local Governments to somehow lead by example.

I have simply stated what people are complaining about. The Federal Government should own up to their gross FAILURES before pointing fingers to the states.

The need of Nigerians go far beyond the basic mundane(s) of primary healthcare, water and road but SECURITY, PROSPERITY and PROSPECTS for the future. The Federal Government has thoroughly failed in these three duties of Government.
Re: Fashola: Nigerians Disappointed As They're Looking For Results In Wrong Place by NGpatriot: 1:29pm On Oct 03, 2020
It's even funny that the samed Fashola is constructing and completing all the dead and abandoned FG projects all over the country, including the ones in the SE where many of the hateful people in this thread call home.

ZIK mausoleum that was abandoned by your PDP leaders for was completed by Fashola in less than 2 years?

2nd NB under construction after 30 years abandonment nko, who is in charge? Fashola?

Who is lobbying for funds and constructing all the abandoned FG roads and highways in the SE? Fashola.

You can spew all the hateful rubbish you desire, Fashola did and is still doing more for the SE as a minister than all your useless previous ministers combined?

For years, the previous governments and the PDP you follow follow and give your votes to did not commission 1 single project in the whole of SE, I repeat, nit 1 single project in the whole of SE so who are you fooling with your misplaced anger and ignorance?

You mean like you are suffering now because of your own stupidity by voting for 16 years of PDP including Jona that earned more money from oil than any administration in the history Nigeria but still left you in darkness, with abandoned projects all over Nigeria and not a single commissioned project in the whole of SE, SS, SW, but only alamajiiri classrooms in the north?

The $2.3 billion money Jona stole and gave to Dasuki ATM to share with their cronies was enough to build over 1000MW power plant or build 2 Lagos Ibadan railway or build many 2nd NB without borrowing 1 kobo from anybody.

So, wo is really stupid?

2. How far has this administration pursued the devolution of powers to states?

3. Who is in charge of security, power and other major sectors. (See the Exclusive and Residual list for this).

Your questions are off tangent, the quote below was the context in which he made this submission.

this is the truth, but Nigerian don't like learning new things, they still believe in impossibilities, and this SAN is trying to open our eyes into the provisions we should really claim for ourselves as established in the 1999 CFRN, yet some people that are chanced to be on this platform to learn and be enlightened about these things so that they can teach the people that don't have such opportunity are the ones criticizing what they should be welcoming with appreciation, change starts from here my people, let us learn from little things before we start aiming at the ones that are very much far from us

Unfortunately, many Nigerian youths are not predisposed to learning, they prefer ignorance, tribalism and bigotry instead of absorbing the vital and eye opening education.

This Is what Fashola is saying, your governors collect allocations and IGR to take care of you, but you face and abuse the FG everyday as if the FG is the one spending your money.

Your governors are not invisible, face your governors and demand accountability.

So why empower the state and local government financially to perform all the basics task. Why is the federal government withholding over 50% of out budget
Re: Fashola: Nigerians Disappointed As They're Looking For Results In Wrong Place by Reference(m): 2:56pm On Oct 03, 2020
No single citizen of any country on earth will go to the polls to elect a government to make things worse for him, his family, his society and his country. The level of failure of this goverment just has no excuses.

The ruling AOC has the majority at all the levels of government, Federal, State and Local government. They have the majority is both Houses of Assembly and has the judiciary primarily sympathetic to it.

No President since 1999 has the totality of control, the power this goverment wields presently. Such power could in theory be used for good, to make the necessary reforms to set the nation on the path of lasting peace and prosperity but what we are seeing is the interests of powerful individuals and groups taking control for their anti-Nigeria agendas.

Nigerians can throw a fit and don't know how to react rationally.

Fashola just said the truth really but Nigerians take pride in being antagonistic and they love the Deja vu; I guess there is a thrill to it embedded in us.

Basic amenities like that are to be covered by the State Government. The FG can't be everywhere and they embark on projects that take years to accomplish: rails, roads, ports etc.

Nigeria has so much challenges that a government can achieve so little in eight years, especially with corruption so endemic and institutionalized.

Listen(sic), before you mention. You would keep moaning and groaning and wailing for eight years of Buhari and then the next government and then the next, until you realise the fundamental details of governance and hold them sensibly to it, devoid of emotions or sentiments or prejudice.

I feel a need to reemphasize. This is NOT about APC/ Buhari or what no. I am feeling the burning effects of the economic downturn but I am grateful to God for the ability to detach emotion for rationality.
you are very unfamiliar with what is supposed to be the responsibility of the federal government. Nigerians want basic amenities, and the right legislation which will make the branches of government function well.

You should have listened to Fashola because this is the responsibility of your state governors, not the FG and on top of that, the FG sends allocations to your governors every month specifically for that purpose.

Provision of basic amenities is also the reason why your state governors collect IGR.

It is you who is unfamiliar with the responsibilities of the FG and even state governments.

What are the responsibilities of your state governors? Do you even know?

The fact that you hate the president or the federal government doesn't mean you shouldn't know your rights and the responsibilities of your state governors.

Fashola! So, it's state government and local government that will provide electricity. Even when states come out with plan to generate enough power to run their states, you will say they should feed it into national grid, as if these parts of the country exist as mugu to other parts that choose to be aimless.

The same FG that want to take control of our water resources in the entire country. Na to go to Aso Rock if I need to purchase bottle water. Awon oloshi dede yi.
