You're missing a lot !

SWAT has been already in existence before now, they are to be replace the useless SARS or FSARS we have.
Trust me this guys are professional and not miscreants like the SARs, only that there unit outfit is not enough, just like the police IRS those guys are doing a nice job, years back some IRS officers helped me with my flat tires I'm the middle of night in Abuja and I was so much surprised.
My only fear is that they wouldn't turn bad like the SARS in few years time.

True, a lot of these SWAT guys trained with the AFSF in Belarus, the police PRO is doing a terrible job, he is meant to have gone to a couple of tv stations on a call in programme to sensitize and appeal to the public, so there's a feel of togetherness, and the biggest way to calm this protests is for SARS heads to roll, people want to see public prosecutions and them been dismissed and charged to court, why this isn't happening is part of the fan, making this amber glow. Personally i think the police force cannot because the money from this sars gets up to even the ig, any public trial would see then indicted.

I cannot agree less. The force PRO is one of the most ineffective in recent times. I sometimes imagine what a more proactive well thinking person would have been able to achieve.

Whenever he is on air, he only tries to defend rubbish. Common sense, disarm the protesters with the truth. Let them know that you agree that there is a big rot in the system and then show them truly step by step how far you have gone with tackling these challenges.

In quick time, the protests would die down.

I am only afraid of what these protests would snowball into in the coming days. I fear for a lot of people, knowing now that many of the people on the street are not some of the original protesters and also most now on the streets are motivated differently (food, trips, free shalaye and clout).

I know we have achieved a lot and would do more in the coming days but it is time now to become strategic.

President Muhammadu Buhari has rejected a request from the Nigerian Army to quell ongoing #EndSARS protests with soldiers, Peoples Gazette can report, on the account that such approach could backfire.

Mr. Buhari said heavily armed soldiers with directive to open fire should be the last resort — if at all they’ll be considered — because of the spontaneous and elaborate nature of the ongoing pushback against decades police brutality, according to a presidency and two military sources briefed on the matter Wednesday night.

Our sources said Mr. Buratai and some of his generals are increasingly furious that #EndSARS protesters have refused to stand down.

He sought the president’s permission to deploy soldiers to disperse protesters and take over demonstration grounds in Lagos and Abuja, a senior administration official told the Gazette shortly after 11:00 p.m.

The official said Mr. Buhari fear that the protests could grow bigger if any attempt is made to use soldiers to violently suppress it.

“The president is wary of escalating the situation,” our source said. “He does not want this to backfire because there are many locations that protests are holding across the country.”

Chief of staff Ibrahim Gambari was amongst those who advised the president against troops deployment.

National security adviser Babagana Monguno did not take part in the meeting but a source said he would be briefed. The Gazette has yet to establish whether or not the NSA was briefed, and a telephone number for him did not immediately connect Wednesday night.

Mr. Buratai’s proposal followed a week-long demonstration that has refused to wane despite government acceding to some of the key requests from the protesters.

On Sunday, police chief Mohammed Adamu announced immediate abolition of the special anti-robbery squad, a police detective unit whose decades of corruption and ruthlessness sparked the world-famous hashtag.

He also announced a new unit that would replace the defunct brutal squad.

Mr. Buhari in additional repeatedly assured that his administration would take police reforms more seriously, but urged protesters to embrace dialogue around a sustainable solution.

The protesters have declined to end the campaign until at least five fundamental issues that border on citizens’ rights and restitution thousands of SARS victims.

But top government and security appointees of the president are seething and “now itching” to do something immediately.

Their desperation followed several advises that they have given the president over the past week; including some without any form of law enforcement intervention.

A military source said the president and his key insiders are reluctant to take a straight position because they are still learning to understand the main actors of the protests.

“The president may still be asking for time to better understand the protesters first,” a military brass-hat told the Gazette. “But the president recognises that these categories of protesters are not the same as members of the Shiite sect.”

Below is one of the stories of how Beast James Nwafor( former OC SARS Anambra State) and current SSA to Gov Obiano used to killed Anambra youths

written by Miss Kween Iloanya on July 9th, 2020

The man you see on this post is a bloodthirsty murderer. But before I explain further, some introduction.
His name is James Nwafor, he was a police officer. His highest rank before retirement was ASP. Currently he's SSA to the Anambra State government on Security, he's from Ebonyi State, a father, grandfather, uncle, brother.

My family's path collided with him in November 2012, when my brother was arrested at Ajali, my family went to the police station at Ajali and they said SARS Awkuzu had taken the arrested boys. So my parents went to SARS Awkuzu, this man blatantly denied ever making any arrest or transfers and assured my dad that the boy wasn't in their custody but as fate may have it, as my parents were leaving the station, they saw my brother and other boys handcuffed together and being led in. My mum screamed and pointed at him, telling this man that that was her son. He ordered that my parents be pushed out that day. The next day, my parents went back and this man told them point-blank that he had killed my brother and that there's nothing that can be done about it. My mum collapsed immediately and had to be taken to the hospital.

However, lots of people including some SARS officers said that he was bluffing and wanted us to bring money. So we brought money, yet he refused to budge, we sold lands and took money in bags yet he didn't budge. We then went to the commissioner of police Anambra state as at then, Mr Bala Nasarawa, he called Mr James and he claimed they had shootout with armed robbers and probably my brother was one of them, my parents told him they saw the boy at the station and then James, again, denied ever arresting the boy. Then Mr Bala Nasarawa looked my parents in the eye and told them that there's nothing further he could do since Mr James had denied ever arresting or detaining the boy (apparently my parents can't identify their own son or they are blind) and that his (Bala Nasarawa) hands were tied.

So we went to human rights, of course they took the money and promised heaven and earth and yet, nothing happened, we didn't get my brother. See eh, the challenge however is that people who made it out of the station as at early 2013 said my brother was still there. They came to my father and told him to make more offers and he did but still no show.

However, I'm calling on everyone to ask James Nwafor to kindly explain what happened to my brother, where is he? For those who would ask why are you speaking now, mind you that I have been asking this same question on twitter, where I could tag police handles. This man is a known murderer and he doesn't hide it, many people will doubt me but please don't take my word for it, read about him. Amnesty international has a report on him too as being a beast.

Mr James Nwafor was the OC of SARS Awkuzu during the period when over 40 dead bodies from SARS Awkuzu were thrown into the oji river at the boundary of Enugu and Anambra State. This man's act had my father swimming in the river to see if he can identify my brother, he didn't find his body amongst those that were dumped there. During his time at SARS Awkuzu, the station was known as an abattoir for human and it was well known that Human parts can be bought at any point there.

This man was renounced by many civil and human rights organisations, yet the Anambra State government under the leadership of Governor Willie Obiano made him an SSA just to shield him from persecution. Yesterday, he was called by a lawyer to ask him questions about my brother's case and he said the lawyer should do his worst as nothing can happen to him. I'm asking simply that James Nwafor tells us what happened to my brother. If he was a criminal, isn't it the right thing to take him to court and have him sued and sentenced? Doesn't a family deserve to know what happened to their child? At what point is it right to kill someone who was already arrested and in custody? Is Mr James Nwafor above the law? Please help my family find justice, we want to know if my brother is alive or dead and if dead why?

Haven't they ended the SARS
They should stop it unless it will be chaotic in a few days if continued

You're right a lot of people needs to be jailed for their crimes,so was the peaceful protest supposed to be #EndSars or #EndPoliceBrutality.
Fine the Protested #EndSars which had effect and IGP acted.
Someone on Tweeter said the SARS office close to his/ her home has been shut down till further notice and the Name SARS has been Cleaned off and Renamed NPF.
Even today my mum went to the Market and she told me no single police officers are on the road only VIOs unlike before.

If they actually want the killers brought to book it would have been #EndPoliceBrutality #ReformThePolice
Because 1.End SARS may not be the answer they are still police officers and when drafted to perhaps other units they may likely commit their atrocities so the police needs overhaul.

Even segalinks has said the protests should end and every one calm down.
I'm not against the protests but the protesters should at least calm down. They wanted SARS to end it's finally ended .
