It is from the $1.3 billion plan for security for the Nigerian navy.

It was supposed to be an extra-budgetry acquisition for the Nigerian navy.

The fact remains that @fieldmarshall06 provided his source, and for this he is right.

The Nigerian Navy needs $1.3 billion to acquire new hardware to secure its territorial waters, according to Navy Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Vice-Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, who is seeking the acquisition of at least five new ships.

Addressing a public hearing organised by the House of Representatives Committee on Maritime Safety and Administration, Ibas said the required long term acquisitions include a general-purpose frigate valued at $350 million, a long-endurance Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) valued at $120 million, a medium-endurance OPV estimated at $60 million, a landing platform dock ship worth $350 million and a landing ship-tank valued $90 million.

Other required assets include a submarine worth $300 million, a Seaward Defence Boat (SDB) worth $10 million and a specialised naval security helicopter at an estimated cost of $25 million.

The reason why I might not agree with you fully is because plans change.

I must admit I completely forgot about this news, however there are many things that still fall short.

Why I also agree with you is that the Nigerian navy's head of submarine unit detailed the exact type of submarine Nigeria should go for, and that information is also public knowledge. I will post the source later.

I have also seen a recent Thisday source stating that the Nigerian navy is on the verge of receiving a new OPV.

We also know that Nigeria evaluated the LHD built by PT PAL.

The Navy's AW-139 and 3 x A109 new purchases.

However saying the navy has procured a Frigate or in your case 2 frigates from Germany is not true.

There is a plan to procure frigates as you have shown us, but none, absolutely none have been ordered.

Germany runs one of the most liberal governments in Europe, if you buy any military equipment from them, that information would be made public.

Nah,,, I am not wrong. To purchase means to order, but ships take years to build & deliver. But for the order, yes it has been ordered which is deduced from the 'finalized' plan.

Different people have different sources, but that is my source and I have shown it. A colleague describes the OPV as a frigate. Hence the toggle about 1 or 2 frigates. I have also heard about a pair of frigates, from close pals.

But at least, I did not fabricate the news or use Redditt games like @jln115 insinuated.

Anyway, we pray for more procurements.

Model of Nigerian made Seaward Defence Boat on display, behind is the specifications sheet of the Epenal Gunboat.

Epenal Gunboats are the most widely used surface craft in service with the Nigerian navy. The navy currently has an estimated 500+ units in service.
A bit of a mistake here the navy used the design of SeWa Gunboat to represent Epenal Gunboat. Epenal doesn't have a rail at the front,And also had two side windows.

It takes between 12 to 18 months to build and deliver a Frigate, Corvette or LST to a customer. In China, this time frame might even be shorter.

When you order something, you has gone through the stage of an RFQ, given a PO and made an advance payment. So no, you're not correct, Nigeria has not ordered any Frigate.

I have duly acknowledged that you provided a source.

Yes, it clears all doubt, you did not fabricate your news.

....But you also did not prove Nigeria ordered any Frigates.
