Well done Ghana! "Ghana’s Parliament approved $86,1 million in government loans to fund acquisition of 19 armoured vehicles from Israel’s Elbit Land Systems. In terms of the agreement, Elbit Land Systems will supply nine 8×8 Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs) equipped with Elbit Systems UT30 30 mm remotely operated turrets. The order includes ten 6×6 IFVs fitted for reconnaissance operations. The acquisition will help Ghana’s military realise long-delayed establishment of two new armoured regiments to be based in Sunyani and Tamale. In August, the Ghanaian Army elevated 2 Independent Reconnaissance Squadron of the 153 Armoured Regiment to create the 154 Armoured Regiment. The 153 Armoured Regiment is set to remain under GAF Central Command in Sunyani when the new 154 Regiment moves north to Tamale to provide armour support to GAF Northern Command in Tamale. Planning is underway for the establishment of the GAF 155 Armoured Regiment. The establishment of GAF armoured units is delayed by a lack of funds, logistic equipment and weapons platforms." 4 Likes 1 Share

youghs:they are for identification during emergencies such as blood transfusion. For identifying the dead, and other similar purposes. It's not a necklace. Some wear it inside, other wear it on their boots. |
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Litmus: 12:22pm On Oct 20, 2020 |
Faithful007: Necklaces are also worn inside shirt . Wearing those tags outside shirt does not redact purpose. You’d be more convincing arguing west invented dog tags, therefore do as the west does and wear dog tags inside shirt. Or, they are more liable to be torn off and lost wearing them outside shirt. 5 Likes |

komekn:Good u acknowledge some aks do have sights eh. The effective range of a quality AK is 350 metres But the realistic and commonly accepted is 300 U enjoy complicating fact to prove points. Unfortunately for ur line of argument, with enhaced sights, good wind (of course) marksman can accurately hit targets between 280-300 metres away, all things been equal... 4 Likes |

Litmus:this is not a case for argument. It is about ethics, dignity and military uniform style, dogtags contain serious information pertaining to your death, so why should you reduce its worth down to a necklace for show. Besides it is safer having it inside as it can survive an explosion better. It's just like wearing your birth certificate or obituary on your neck for all to see. It does not make sense. It is neither an ID nor a badge. Unless that is not a real dog tag, because I haven't seen any other person wearing it before. 6 Likes |

GeneralFarouq: That's entirely under a controlled environment, such as a shooting range. If you add ammunition quality then those figures can have huge variations. If you consider a change of environment i.e. ambush, fire fight, etc. Where you may get half a second to zero into you target and you are fighting for your life, then you are taking effective range of 100-150 metres maybe less. It really depends on training and mental composure of the combatants. I have watched Nigerian security forces personal engaging with armed robbers. They didn't even flick up the steel sights on the AK47, shooting wildly. There effective range was less than 100 metres. However, put on an optic sight and you can talk of effective range in a fire fight environment of 300 metres. But not neccesarily with an AK47 the recoil is too much. But a definitely with an AK74, or a number of other modern assault rifles. But all these permutations can be completely mitigated be exceptional combatants. You will be shocked what a Russian Spetsnaz can do in a fire fight with a rudimentary AK47. 5 Likes |

When is time for election, I expect most of this people to come out and vote, not to sit in their house and start to dey talk rubbish. The ondo governorship election, the turn out is not even up to 50% 1 Like |

joshjc:We have pass a message with our protest, why can't we wait till 2023, and vote for other parties instead of PDP or APC. We can do it through the ballot box, is not necessary we do it through fighting and rioting. 2023 is not so far away... The same Nigerians that wants revolution are the same people collecting 5-10k from Akeredolu and the APC. The same Akeredolu that increased school fees by 100% and ordered soldiers and police to crackdown on students protesting. Why can't we start a revolution through the ballot paper? 7 Likes |

Toju200:As for me, I'm not partaking in any protest again. I will channel my energy in voting a better candidate in 2023. With what I have been seeing in ikorodu for the past 2-3 days, the protest don turn to something else. I wish our people can just lay low and give the government a chance, even though GMB is a useless person. 8 Likes |
