I was here few days ago to ask about the idea behind holding the Nigerian flag only Tobilola replied and from his answer, i realized the flag thing is a lie.

It is and the one about the National Anthem too but it didn't stop people from letting it go viral enough for some to believe it.

That belief was what kept many at the spot that night. Singing the National Anthem and waving Flags in the face of obvious danger. Recall, many of the main agitators weren't present at the protest venue because most had read the writing on the wall and left. Some had even called for caution but you know how it goes... The gyration, false confidence(the success of Edo state defying) and the idea that even if the army is called in, waving flags and singing the national anthem would cause them to retreat.

The handwriting of what happened that night had been on the wall for a while but the spirit of aluta did not allow many to see or even consider it as real.

These people didn't have to die! A little tact, a little wit, and we would still have continued the fight on our terms.

Enough of the brute force, false propaganda and carnage. This is the time for us to think better and re-strategize.

In that wise sir, I want you to know, that with the situation on our hands in the country presently, some statements are total evil no matter how logical it might sound.

There's serious tension in the air, we should refrain from making certain statements.

This matter on ground bah, requires astute emotional intelligence and not some logic. Else you'll be branded enemy of the people.

I earnestly hope you understand my submission.

Thanks.

Daddy I do but then again, now is not the time to cry over split milk... The deed is done, what next?

But know that matching violence with violence would only leave the poor, poorer and totally anarchy in a manner that would cripple even the ones who feel that they have some form of comfort.

If dare to engage this discuss, we're going to have a lot of back and forth.

All I'll say now is that we all should apply our emotional intelligence.

Don't say things that will hurt people, it's clear that the government is very bad and as a result many people are hurt.

The people killed yesterday are the real heros!

And they'll not die in vain.

God bless.

By being realistic, by finding out the root of the shooting and asking why the protesters stayed when they knew, police stations were been burnt and looted of their weapons, why didn't they obey the simple directive of curfew, when it had a stronger merit than the protest at that particular time.

Truth is the army was wrong, if it was the army and the protesters were wrong too, looking at the bigger picture of events in the state, yesterday and continuing today.

The people's reaction is understandable. I honestly feel their pain, particularly the ones of those who have lost loved ones.

But you see, while we blame the perpetrators of this dastardly acts and their sponsors, it is important for us to look inward and examine where we might have had it wrong with a view to learning from the mistakes and forging a new approach.

All of us can't be crying at the same time and even we were, we shouldn't do it with our eyes closed.

The enemies we are against know that we are winning and would want to outmaneuver us. This is just one notch higher, there is more to come. How we reorganize, re-strategize and apply more wit and tact than bandwagon mentality would tell in the coming days if we will win this.

We have come too far now to turn back. Shun dissident voices calling for regime change... That will bring more violence, reduce the number of false propaganda we put out there and accept... UN intervention is a very long way from coming.

Enough of the shalaye. Mayor say make I step am down.

In the timeline of the shooting from a source, i think most times is reliable, it says snipers were spotted, at the same time, admiralty way in lekki, which is less than 2 minutes drive away, had banks attacked and shopping malls looted, this seems so much like the Abuja attacks. Destruction by thugs of public property that can caused maximum outcry, while attacking the protesters, in Abuja we saw men in clean suits directing affairs , in lekki we have a tactically trained unit, running a well coordinated attack.

Too many holes in this army shooting story.

As a wannabe military analyst here, let me breakdown what is happening and predict what will happen wink.

It's no longer news that protests have gone violent. Nigeria's security incompetence is to blame here.
It's no longer only about SARS or police, believe me, people are using the protest to settle scores.
Many people's long hatred for police and government will do serious things. I heard a DPO has been beheaded.
There are so many real and fake news going on, Many will be incited to bring more violence.
Nigerian Police will display there uselessness more and more, more people will be killed, both police and civilian.
Army might also display a little more uselessness, some commanders are political puppets.
Militants will likely get involved to fight their enemies and the perceived enemies of their people.
Weapons will likely increase as people will want to shoot back at police.
Nigeria's government will keep fanning the protests through gross incompetence, sending police to kill more people.
Nigeria's government will be as confused as some of the protesters. They will make many mistakes.
The fight and protests will have no clear direction as too many people will have different agendas.
BH and other similar elements will use this to their advantage.
In all this there will likely be a common event that will appease all factions.

FILL IN THE BLANKS.
There might be disagreements in the ......................., the signs are there.
Only one thing usually ends things like this and will likely end this, .................... you know what it is cool

Remember, its just my thoughts.

See what the foolishness of the military has caused... Almost all the states in southern Nigeria is boiling.

Just because of say you be military personnel, that does not mean your brain should stop working. For this Africa, no be only us get military. I don't even understand where dem get this thinking say a military must be very brutal undecided

GMB is one of the most useless president, I now believe those people who do say he is not in charge... I'm sure he does not even know what's happening. GEJ address the people twice in about 7 days during the fuel protest days.

A military that is only gallant against unarmed civilians... No wander a minister in Mali once said "They were cowards and indiscipline, they are only good for manning checkpoint". It was during the intervention in Mali a Malian minister said that, before they were eventually pulled back to Nigeria.

Nigeria is a major US anti-terror partner in the region. I don't believe the supply would be halted.

The US sees this sale as protecting US interests in the region.

On one hand we see why it is important for us to develop our defence industry.

Virtually all the pictures of the lekki shooting victims released on Twitter has been proven to be false or unrelated to the incident.
Whether they are releasing fake images just for clout or there is a hidden agenda, this has almost destroyed the country.
If we don't destroy fake news, then fake news will definitely destroy us.
The DJ's video is the only real evidence right now.
Fake pictures and videos are not in the interest of justice at this point.

The Drone base was there before the Tongo Tongo attack.

Also remember unlike Russia or France the US never conducts military operations alone. They always come along with partners.

With the US public already war weary with nearly 20 years of conflict in Afghanistan, all US Presidents would be hesitant to put actual boots on the ground.

So the way of going around this is air support and empowering partners on the ground.

I don't believe the US would halt deliveries to Nigeria, except in the event that things escalate disproportionately.

Anyway we really need to try and build our defence industry.

We can't be sure yet. Someone was recorded dying on Instagram live.
One thing is sure, all sides are lying and there are more than two sides to this conflict.
I will advise caution with propagating anything related to this conflict. I believe it is bigger than we all thought and some of us might unknowingly pour fuel to the flames that will burn the country before we realize we've been tools for some people's personal gain.
Verifying whatever you see online before retweeting will never harm you.

Deploying counter measures is something any rogue state will always do. Images might be fake but those live videos from yesterday can never be faked.
They are countless amount of videos on the internet and on Twitter. So many live videos too. Those videos can never be countered. We saw dead bodies live on those protest grounds and nothing can change that.
Any dummy can create burner accounts with fake images and use other accounts to counter the other.
The army should go and learn damage control well. They shot themselves in the foot by deploying soldiers with live ammo yesterday and nothing can change that.
Y'all agents of denial should try harder.
Counter the videos with verifiable proofs.
Not coming up with images from accounts that God knows who is running behind the scenes.

Una cyber warfare is lame. Mofos

In all of these, we the people are the biggest losers, the stock exchange is already crashing. Naira has been falling against the dollars since this thing started. We will only know the full extent of the damage to the economy when this is all over.

A certain godfather has also died politically in his stronghold. He may never win a single unit in that state again. Who knows, he might have been the target right from the beginning.

As una no dey fit see beyond the lies.
Any Tom can pick someone's photo online and give it whatever caption they want. And then just chill and wait for the real owner to come and go berserk on the poster.

We have seen live videos from different angles, and from multiple different people who where live on the protest grounds. Even foreign reporters where live on Lekki toll gate yesterday.

Some crazy agents are here with photos trying to counter live feeds? WTF

I agree with you, but Chad isn't exactly a democracy. They also don't have the economy to back up.

There won't be sanctions at this stage, if things deteriorate further yes.

However, with sanctions who really loses, the government or the people?

Since the start of this protest, the naira has been falling against the dollar, who is really losing out?

What this country needs now, more than ever is dialogue.

The shooting and nonchalance from the government has to stop.

The general state of anarchy has to cease. I'm not in Nigeria, but the kind of things I see online and on the news is heartbreaking.

With the way this protest is going, I don't see a winner. The epicenter of this protest is Lagos, not some backwater state, the heart of our economy.

Let's really think this through.

As an investor seeing shops looted, would you want to come to Nigeria? ".........NO way!!!
