currentprice: I greet the Great Men and women of this forum. Please what could likely be the effect on prices of stocks as the recession announcement looms next month? Will it tank, range or still move up afterwards between Jan-Feb in view of excellent results published by some companies? Your advice is highly sorted and appreciated 2 Likes |

On Intbrew, negative EPS reduced drastically in Q2. From (35) in Q1 to (14) in Q2......another indication that these coys made money even during lockdown. Q3 is expected to turn positive. This in turn means this stock still have more upside potential in days/mths to come from the look of things......and all things being equal. This is just my opinion, Mcy is still a learner. Expert's opinion is welcomed. ** Pls do not take as any form of advice. DD applies** Meanwhile, FCMB made another higher high yesterday, closed at 2.44. |

Market started on a calm and cautious note with low volumes across board...... Bids increasing but bargainers cautious to bid higher...... We see how it goes..... E Ku Market o. On LASACO, its a bargain if you see it at 24k. There's the fear that they may have more than enough damages to take care of, well maybe, but lets remember it's Lag we're talking about. 1 Like |

Considering the court ordered meeting planned for UPDC to approve the unbundling of some portion of the reits it has to it's shareholders, does this mean those who are updc shareholders will get the REITs unit even if they don't have uacn shares. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 12:20pm On Oct 23, 2020 |
debeey87: You will get 82 UPDC REIT shares for every 1000 UPDC shares UACN should have there own court ordered meeting by first quarter of 2021. From my calculation you should be able to get 225 UPDC REIT shares for every 1000 UACN shares 1 Like |

There are two ways for retirees to live off their investments. One is to sell stocks or assets when you need cash, but this will leave you very susceptible to the vagaries of the market. You’ll sometimes have to sell assets at disadvantageous prices, just because you need the money. That’s why many retired investors focus instead on investing for income: owning investments that generate a steady income stream, without ever having to sell anything. ''There are several advantages to income investing. For one, your income stream is reliable, and not price-dependent. The best income-generating investments keep paying investors to own them regardless of what’s happening to their price. Second, if you invest right, your income stream can actually grow… sometimes while your portfolio is growing too! If you’re selling assets whenever you need cash, your portfolio will be shrinking over time. But if you own investments with growing income streams, and rising prices, your income and your portfolio value can both increase over time. Income investing can also become less work as you get older. After a few years of building up your income portfolio, you may find that you can just sit back and watch the dividend checks roll in as you enjoy your golden years. Lastly, income investments’ reliable returns make them less volatile than the market. A recent study found that U.S. stock funds with yields over 2% (meaning they hold mostly dividend-paying stocks) had an average three-year annualized standard deviation (a measure of volatility) of three percentage points less than stock funds yielding less than 2%. In addition, many income investments actually become more popular when the market is weak—or when the environment is “risk-off” in Street parlance—so they can be great buy-and-hold assets for investors who don’t want to have to trade a lot. Income investing is fundamentally different from investing for capital appreciation though. If you’re accustomed to buying stocks for their appreciation potential and selling after their prices rise, then you may have to start thinking differently about your investing strategy'' 5 Likes |
