Maybe it's just me, I feel Zouma has improved massively, more confidence, long pass improvement and now does a clean-dirty work.

Let's not talk about his fastness, agility and pressure he mounts when marking. I think he's being judged with his past fvckeries. I rate him high.

Three major things happened in that defence and it is, that 1, there is a good synergy between the players in how they work as a team (something is happening in training), 2, organization brought about by the leadership of Silva and finally, Mendy. That defensive manager Chelsea signed, Silva and Mendy have really improved the defence.

Zouma runs the defensive errands, charging players with marking, attack, risk long passes and all that, while Thiago who's suppose to be the last man leader keep messing up by leaving Mendy to bail Zouma. Check the likes of VVd, Puyol, Kompany, Terry and Ramos. They have similar roles with Thiago- cordinate and lead as a last man, you'll have them to contend with before meeting keepers. Can same be said of Thiago?

The thing is, we just want some players to do well, so we hype them when they do. Zouma to me, takes more percentage of the work in that central defense.
