It is very clear that the Igbo are aggressively trying to claim a subgroup of the Edo people, that subgroup is called Anioma, whereas the Yoruba are trying to claim an other subgroup of the Edo people. And they believe they can achieve this by cooperating and boosting each others claims.

In reality, the majority of the south is the Edo people, the British divided us into many subgroups which are now separately being called minorities, but when you add them together, they are the majority by far.
