A good step in the right direction but What are they doing regarding sensitization? You can't dislodge these old crooks simply because you are youths.
First they should have grassroots support, have structures in the whole country, ensure every eligible young person has voters card and tell us what they're going to do differently.

Don't just register party and wait for us to come out en mass because it's youth party

Nice one...I just hope it doesn't get hijacked by hoodlums and those who only have the interest of their pockets at heart. We need to set a precedence.

Very good and commendable but "youth democratic party" doesn't really go well.

We all know it's a youth thing but the name...

Wow...

I see a break through only if they present strong candidates...

Falz
Aisha Yesufu

Osinbajo
Peter Obi...etc

Or one elder for presidency and a youth as vice...For the sake of experience..

But I'm wondering where the so called experience of the current elders have taken us all these years..

The thing about politics is that it's not for the faint hearted. They are planning on going head to head with the current cabal ruling Nigeria, can they stand firm in the face of danger? (intimidation, assassination attempts, etc). A friend of mine wanted to go for parliament position in uniben and the question they asked him is "you strong?"

It's not about a "Youth" president,
Gowon was 29 when he was head of state
Ojukwu was 33 when the Civil War broke out
Dimeji Bankole was 37 when he was speaker house of reps
Take a look at Desmond Elliot
So it's not about Youth or tribe or religion, it's about looking for the most suitable candidate and ensuring our systems are strong enough to kick out an underperformer!

Another party to the longlist. It's good to know we already have 3 parties legally registered and targeted to galvanize the youths. They are:

1. Young Democratic Party (YDP)
2. Young Progressive Party (YPP)
3. Youth Party (YP)
4. We now add Youth Democratic Party (another YDP)

My fear is that our energy will be divided with the scenario above. What do we do?

Sorry to say, you don't understand the problem of Nigeria. Let me break it down for you.

Before a person is elected in Nigeria, he will be mandated to give up some posts for his godfather. For example a governor will be asked to give up his commissioner for finance, chief of staff and 1 other robust post.

Party may also have factions that the incoming governor must give up the ministries to satisfy else they won't support him. The governor might be left with just 2 or 3 ministries like women affairs etc.

2ndly, he still has to generate some money monthly for the godfather. How he generates it is his business. That's where permanent secretaries come in, they've been there for years so they understand the system. They will advise the governor on projects that will help him quickly embezzle money to meet up with the godfather's requirements and also for himself. That's why politicians will favour themselves before the masses.

3rdly, the house of Reps members must be fully represented, the projects are mostly awarded to them by the governor in other to make them sign anything he pushes forward else he will lose majority of the house and you know what that means.

In conclusion, the source of a politician really matters. If he doesn't have a godfather or he's not been sponsored by cabals then he can perform to a large extent.

I haven't even talked about banks too. But I think this little tips will make you understand it's not about experience but about where the candidate is coming from.

Death on arrival. They didn't consult Nigerian Youth before coming to this stage. We didn't vote for the leaders of the party. They missed it again.

Thank God the youths of this country has woken up from their slumber...

if all youths in this country unanimously vote for a young person, there is no way APC or PDP will win 2023 presidential election.

Why must u derail us from d goal of d party nah? Huh?

We say we are sternly repudiating old politicians who hv been part of d yearly looting spree & u're there stil proposing old politicians 2 us?

Or, don't u know when u bring in one or two old politicians is invariably an invitation 2 others, in wich case they hv all it takes 2 hijack d Youth Party?

Or, when they were ruling as youths at Independence, who were d aged pple u heard were among them & occupied active National Positions? Huh?

Jst at d outset & someone is already losing focus on d essence of d party! Haba!

Extending the inevitable
Why don't you ask the simple question of why Nigeria was created in the first place before you start this fruitless journey

Nigeria is exactly what it was predicted it would be, down to the 't'

Naija Youths Wake Up.

This is the time to take charge of your future.

And when we are talking about Naija youths, we mean the good, honest and hardworking Nigerian youths that are ready to make their lives a meaning.
We are always happy to know that we still have good and hardworking youths in this nation, though they are very few, but we do believe in them.

Not the fraudsters that will still queue behind the politicians that looted their lives and the lives of their unborn kids since 1960.
Dimeji Bankole and Zlatan Ibile kinda youths...

This is the time.
Slow and steady we will get to the country of our dreams.

Nigeria will be great in our lifetime.
God bless Nigeria.
The same youths that can't hold simple student Union election without killing themselves undecided
Who are those behind the party Who is sponsoring the party registration
