Abagworo:

Ukwuani language has little difference with Oguta. I visited Aboh last weekend and felt at home. You guys are definitely the same stock as other Igbos. Why are some searching for differences when the similarity is 99%.
I'm certainly not searching for differences but these; shut - your - mouth - you - dont - know - who - u - are arguments just tick me off everytime. Why must people deny Bini heritage to be accepted as Igbo? In any case, i'm not sure i have the stomach for an argument over this so i'd be glad to see it pass.
Interesting u were in Aboh, i'm actually setting off back to my base at dawn - fuel permitting that is - hope you had a nice time?

Well, now that we r here i guess there's no dodging it now is there?

I can bet the little you know does not include the fact that a good number of Idemili communities trace their origins back to present day Aboh a supposedly Ukwuani community in Delta state does it? Please dont ridicule yourself by asking for a 'link'!
The rest of your claims only display deep naivety as nothing you said could in itself prove what you're trying to establish or at the very least lend any sort of credence to any of your supposed proofs.

Bia wesley, little really? I bet you dont know what I know about the Idenmili/Anioma relation! Which town in Idenmili, according to you traces their oringin from Aboh/Ukwuani? You will have to answer this question before I descend on the rest of your ramblings!

Though Ngwa has historical, ethnic and ancestral ties with many villages and communities in Rivers, Ngwa will never be part of the state. Since 1915 (immediately after British rule ended), Ngwa has always maintained an official demand for a separate state. We cannot even conceive of being part of Rivers.
How many Ngwa people have you come in contact with, who actively engage in these types of discussions? Nnaa, Ngwa people don't talk. In fact, you'll be hard pressed to find where an Ngwa is letting others know that he/she is Ngwa, not to even talk of their thoughts and opinions on these types of topics.

You are a liar,i stay in Aba now,Ngwa people are proud igbo people, yes they want ngwa state, but they are proud igbo people, they have no reason not to be.

Only internet ngwa man like you would have the notion of a separate ngwa ethnicity, not the real ngwa people i met in ihie, ugwunagbo,or those ones in umueze osisioma.

Yea, they don't talk, but when they do, they are not insane to say they are co-Igbo. Mbatuku, Beneli etc are Ngwas but they are not insane to say they do not believe in Igbo unity.
Did you say 1915, do you have any evidence that suggest that Ngwa has been pushing for a separate state since 1915?.

"infact, you 'll be hard pressed to find where an ngwa is letting others know that he/she is ngwa, not to even talk of their thoughts and opinions on these types of topics"

This is my problem with you,you speak like you are a spokesperson for ngwa, when in reality your assertions like the above, does not correspond with whats on ground. You say your mind and you ascribe it to the whole ngwa nation, speak for yourself, nobody made you the spokesperson for Ngwa.

Ngwa people have no problem leting u know that they are ngwa,i have many of them as friends,so i should know, and they don't hesistate to air their views on issues concerning ngwa,my ngwa friends are always telling me why they need Aba state, and how the northern abia groups are holding them captive in abia, they don't have any clannish tendency like chinenye does.

Please Nri priest and other igbo, don't you guys take chinenye serious, his views are very far from that of an average ngwa man, they are just what they are,his views.

nwa ohnuhnu really did just make this statement. . . ebele ngwa awala.

Anyway, Pazienza, earlier you said you stay in Aba. You're surrounded by Ngwa territory on all sides. You think you as the ohnuhnu that you are, will be surrounded on all sides by Ngwa and Ngwa people will not let you know that they are Ngwa? C'mon. I still maintain that Ngwa people are good at not letting others know that they are Ngwa. Odumchi even testified to such not to long ago. Ngwa people also don't talk. Even Andre confirmed it.

Andre Uweh:

Yea, they don't talk, but when they do, they are not insane to say they are co-Igbo (1). Mbatuku, Beneli etc are Ngwas but they are not insane to say they do not believe in Igbo unity(2). Did you say 1915, do you have any evidence that suggest that Ngwa has been pushing for a separate state since 1915?(3).

1. & 2. I actually do believe in Igbo unity.

3. The Ngwa demand for a separate state is well-known. There have been news articles regarding it and even scholarly works that incorporate that topic. A simple Google search will address your concerns. I would advise that you either pursue that avenue (Google it) or, seeing as to how you are based in U.K., go and find the nearest Ngwa association, and inquire from them about the Ngwa demand for a separate state.
You're more likely to receive the truth if it came from them, as opposed to me.

Why must we Nigerians be so verbally abusive each time someone has a differing opinion from ours? That needs to stop because it portrays we Nigerians as stubborn and aggressive. In all honesty, I think threads like these(ukwuani, ika, ikwere) are unnecessary threads, explaining why they have so far not produced anything good but insults. It seems to run some emotions or some people find it offensive and cant deal with it.

I've been severally tempted in the past to open an official Ngwa thread, but I knew it would likely go down the same path.

Wrong! Threads like this have a purpose and despite the unfortunate antics of intolerant folks, they somewhat fulfil those purposes. If we were to open threads based on emotions, then the entire culture section would be non existent. Your call is akin to someone trying to discourage folks from starting Igbo because they attract the regular ethnic bigots that prey on them or saying Igbo threads should be stopped because some 'find them offensive and cant deal with it'. How does that sound to you For real?
There's a sense of belonging that being Nigerian wont give me that i'll find in being Igbo just as there's one being Igbo wont give me but i'll find in being Ukwuani and so on. People just have to grow up and deal with their insecurities, their small mindedness should not be excused.

^^^ Thought as much.
Mbu onye Aboh though with paternal roots in Ashaka but since my family has lived in Aboh for about 7 generations, we kind of identify more with Aboh and have adopted Aboh roots though we still maintain a strong link with our paternal roots in Ashaka. Nnem bu Nwa di ani Aboh (ekpe), which means just like you, i can vie for 'Iyase(re)'
I'm curious though, which of the Umuti's? Aboh people know of two; Umuti a clan within Aboh and another Umuti which is a bit farther away though somewhat recognized as an Aboh clan (not too sure about this though)

Biko umu ndi igbo. I would like for once to open a thread about Igbo communities and not see una arguing over who is Igbo, whose dialect is better, etc, etc. biko. Ogoni kwa? Why can't una ever get along?

As for whether ukwani is Igbo or not? Why is it NL that i see sh1t like this. No where else, anyway as I've said many times to the Igbo from SE that let NL give them impression of a community, if you really want to know the truth, pack your bag, go there and stay for awhile. Find out what is true or not. Shikena. You people don't need to continue arguing wen you can easily go and find out what's reality.

There is no such thing as Anioma people, lets get that straight. Anioma is still an idea. Anioma is a dialect of the Igbo people. When I say 'Igbo language', i'm talking about the manufactured Igbo that was put together by scholars. Ukwuani are Igbos. I am an Ukwuani and I am Igbo.
