It had always been common but wasn't taken seriously or even considered as abuse.

When a woman gets slapped by her man people gasp in shock but when a man is slapped or hit by a frying pan it's either a joke or he deserved it somehow.

There was even an old comic strip on the Punch where a man would joke about how much his wife was abusing him.

The fact that women who abuse can lie and cry so people instantly believe them didn't help matters, at least it is getting more attention.

There's no surprise here. Power intoxicates the majority of us.

The ONLY reason why there are supposedly less incidents of women physically abusing men is because THE POWER in this case is with the average man.

Majority of us will agree that when it comes to VERBAL abuse, the average woman trumps and they don't hesitate to use it on strangers and their husbands if they deem necessary.

With the way some women treat their helps or wards at home, since they have the upper hand here, who's surprise they can melt out the same treatment to their spouses if the odds is in their favour?

We know your type.
Na your type go wash pant.

But is anything wrong with a man helping his wife out with doing the laundry, including her pants?

After all, if he can remove it and sniff when he is in need of entering Jerusalem, then why can't he do the washing if she needs help with that? Not out of compulsion but as an act of love, care and support.

If you know what most guys are passing thru in the so called marriages , women egged on by the social media have gone berserk , I heard of one that sold her husband's property and fled to Canada , and remove the husband’s name from the the baby’s birth certificate, or are u going to talk about the partenity issues and some of them are even defending it some asking why the man came to the open with the issue and another comparing it to ikemefuna in things Okonkwo’s saga in things fall apart, telling lies, fabricating circumstances , even young white men are getting tired of this growing madness

You can do all that and still u are in a bad loveless marriage , the problem is the upbringing of our women, and how the society treat women as fragile and being easily intimidated, now if a girl accuses u of a rape , she is to be automatically believed, if u get drunk and a girl is equally drunk and u have sex and she accuses u of rape , you are going down , so the ladies is absolved of all sense of responsibility and why not assume she raped the drunk man

Well, i beg to differ especially when it comes to emotional abuse. Women are professionals in this sted and it's really not their fault because most have been raised to be emotionally abusive.

Respect is a two way street, when the physical or mental violence is beginning to surpass your tolerance threshold, then you notify the other party. For some people, that threshold could be the 1st time, others could be 100; whatever, you let your partner know they need to make adjustment.

I support equality and good change; not entitlement from both sides.

The idea of 50 - 50 sharing of properties is not a good deal on both sides. So that kind of law, should not be used. The richer party has to help in some percentage. We have to set a minimum percentage of sharing but no maximum.

We hope these laws don't apply to us, but we need to make these rules clear.

If we can become a society of healthy relationships, that could help the economy and a good notoriety on a world scale.

By the way in an unrelated subject, I hope and wish that for the next 50 years, nigeria will be the leader in oil and water technology, everything electricity and electronics, and the teachers of true grit and fortitude.

You never see anything, you haven't seen women with male gene inside ready to beat up their husband if he misbehaves.
Some of ds men that marry women dey senior with almost 10yrs + will eventually face ds wahala if dey start to age while their wife get more young, and if your wife is the one sustaining you then you're bound to face such because no woman gives her husband food and shelter via paying of house rent and you still expect her not to play bossy, some will pray dat you remain poor so as to take full control of the Lord of the house

Abuse is not only physical, there is verbal, emotional and food abuse. Married men and women undergo verbal and emotional abuse from their spouses. The oga gbonge of them all is the most under-reported which is FOOD ABUSE. What is food abuse? It is the regular act of putting harmful substances into your spouse meals in minute undetected amounts to have a cumulative effect in later years. This abuse is very common but hardly even spoken about cos it is difficult to catch the culprit.

According to her, married men whose wives were not in their first marriage were two times more likely to experienced spousal abuse while men in polygamous marriage are less likely to be victims of spousal abuse.

Gbam! Am I right or am I right?

Point 1. Marriage to discarded women tends to be destructive.

Point 2. Polygamous marriages are happy marriages.

It was a female professor that even did the research. They can't claim male conspiracy here.

Though, I still can't imagine how a man who is naturally equipped with more strength and more sense than a woman, will let himself be abused by his wife.

Our society is so much against women, why do men feel threatened this much when a woman has a voice and threatened?
They even went as far as conducting fake research, it is well

55% of married men actually. U need to learn that not only women suffer abuse in our society but just like it's hard to believe a male rape victim, no body will still believe them if they (men) voice out making you to give it 1%.
