Why is it only science related courses that is mostly discussed on nairaland travel section ? Is it that art courses are useless? We art graduates also want to travel abroad too. You guys should try and discuss art courses lucrative abroad,please. Not every time engineering, medicine and IT.

With law, you would need to go back to law school. English teaching works provided you get certified and target non-english speaking nations but it still does not pay as much as the sciences.

Most art degrees are pretty much useless when compared to STEM courses. They don't produce anything that brings money or jobs.

demand for employers in those fields are low and they have enough people in those countries to do the work. The western world will keep needing doctors, nurses, IT, auditors , project management people, engineers etc. Such is life

Also Psychology which is social science. For example, graduate in Nigeria with a minimum of 2.1 in Psychology and apply to obtain UK's Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society (that designates one as an Assistant Psychology by UK standard), do a one year masters in a subfield that would get you a job upon graduation especially in mental health facilities where one can work part time even while studying. Switching to Ireland also becomes an easier option.

S - Science
T - Technology
E - Engineering
M - Mathematics

STEM courses are common in job section but, arts ain't underrated abroad. For example investment and entrepreneur are still available abroad.

Art courses are largely country dependent. Nigeria's Law degree is useless outside the country but not for medicine or engineering. Also, in jobs' availability, even their citizens face low prospects and salaries. Check the lamentations by PhD grads in history, philosophy, political science etc. Now, compare to science based courses and you will see the difference. Someone with a PhD in Computer Science from Princeton will quickly get a job anywhere in the world over his counterpart with a PhD in history from the same institution.

It's even useless in Nigeria because the country is lawless. You can become a lawyer abroad by taking courses and and country specific qualifying examinations but compared to your engineering counterpart, it takes a long while.

Absolutely...you can take a course on any IT program within your area and learn some digital high ranking skills

Or you enroll on a new IT/Computer Science degree and start afresh if you have the time and resources...tho when you through...you will still have to go for short courses...

Heres the problem with such courses; for instance, as a Nigerian, you are looking for a job in France but you studied Philosophy in English the dynamics have completely changed, why? Because studying a course like Philosophy in French is a different ball game entirely from studying it in English, concepts are altered, lingo and terminologies are different, perspectives are different due to political and cultural views etc if your degree was not obtained in a French speaking module, even if you speak French, it is still different.

Such courses are regional specific, Philosophy in Japan also takes a very different twist, meaning you have to study Philosophy in Japanese to work in that feild in Japan. Your Nigerian Philosophy degree in most cases do not have the outlook for other countries. I mean just imagine what political science would look like in a country like China?
Not to mention licences and memberships to local bodies that such courses require in order to practice.

However when it comes to science, 1+1=2 and 2x2=4 anywhere in the world.

Same goes for IT, this technical concept is pretty much the same worldwide

I would not say they are useless, that's a huge No ...
I would just say they are regional specific.

The demand exists, however its for homegrown talent.
