Bodyodour: What he said is kind of baseless to me.. Language affects almost everything either arts or science.. You can’t study Nursing in an English country, then you proceed to Japan or Vietnam and expect it to be easy as well.. Art is not useless in abroad. As long as you’re good in your field, you’re go to go! |

SocialJustice: Great plans. Option 1 is doable but expensive. More importantly, with the benefits of hindsight, I will do LLB(JD) and an LLM in Canada. Doing it here will open unimaginable doors for you that the UK won’t open in 40 years. Option 2-I can’t advice because of professional ethics. But I will say direct the plan to Canada. Will likely succeed and be far less challenging with proper guidance and information. 3 Likes |

Mindlog: Thanks xoxo Bro but the issue is I might not be doing mind at the UK I've only got link in Canada n Australia Plus people say it's a lil hard moving from a Faculty like renewable natural resources to Social science (Psychology) so I was actually thinking of getting a second Bsc degree in Psychology tho it looks like time wasting another 4years esp in this part of the world where ASUU n FG might still delay you. I just hope switching is quite easy like you said without doing PGD or something |

1. Law is different abroad. Just because you are lawyer in Naija does not qualify abroad. You have to go that country law school, take their law exams and pass to even practise law. The reason is laws differs in countries e.g cryptocurrency is legal in the Uk but in Nigeria is illegal. 2. Agriculture science- different weather Different soil , different country. |

well said. I am highly devastated that I didn't do anything called sciences, IT and engineering related because this are real skill that has provided solutions to the word. The art courses this days have being fully taken over by tech. in fact, advise to my self and to may be others willing not to repeat same mistake is to go learn or train there wards in science related skills, IT and engineering. skill relevant to me are mathematics, statistics, excel, engineering and anything IT related call it programming app development, just name what do I really know? The current minister of justice and solicitor general for Alberta Canada is a Nigerian that studied law in Nigeria. He immigrated in the early 2000s and it must have taken him a long time to get the required certificates in Canada. |

Everyone can/will get a job. But the STEM graduate has a better chance of a better job That's why those countries are developed. They place emphasis on science, technology, engineering and mathematics |

heendrix: I don't know about Canada and Australia in terms of doing Masters in Psychology based on your Agric background but don't waste time on a second Bsc degree in Psychology in Nigeria. My path is doing a one year Masters in Clinical Child Psychology then move on to do a 3 year Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinpsy) which now make one a Chartered Psychologist. In the UK the word "Psychologist" is a protected title and ONLY those with Doctorate are addressed as such, anything below Doctorate (Msc, MA, BA, Bsc) one is regarded as Assistant Psychologist, I also know in Canada one is regarded as an Assistant with those degrees. With that above I have options of relocating to Canada or Australia very easily. 2 Likes 1 Share |

In fact, I think in the sciences, the medical science have even greater job prospects than the maths and engineering specialities. To even immigrate with an engineering background this days, your first degree must be exceptional. First class or 2:1 bigger than 4.0. Medical sciences need far more people compared to the Engineering and the maths and so the academic requirements are not as great. Infact, an averagely gifted nurse in Nigeria has a better job prospect in Canada than an Engineer with first class in Ñigeria. 2 Likes |

Absolutely...you can take a course on any IT program within your area and learn some digital high ranking skills Or you enroll on a new IT/Computer Science degree and start afresh if you have the time and resources...tho when you through...you will still have to go for short courses... Goodluck what kind of courses please and what duration is assigned to them? will certificates be issued upon completion? are they special schools for acquiring training on those courses? |

This is really serious. with the way law is been hyped in Nigeria, those that are in science field will even be considering switching to law. |

Bodyodour: Art graduates are also valued in the western world but they are in abundance while there is a great demand for the sciences. It’s all about demand and supply. 1 Like 1 Share |

Don't let anyone deceive you, every aspect of you is highly needed in the society. We have sales guys who make more money than IT guys in the u.s. Go for courses in areas where they have limited people. 1) Pharmaceutical Sales man does not need a science degree. If you know what you're doing, you will make six figures in the u.s of A easily. 2)Social Workers Earn good too. 3) Teachers make good living. 4) Retail Supervisors. 5) Logistics companies need you too. A friend got a USPS job for $50 an hour in the u.s just last year. Stop reading on all this science whatever. Focus on what you can offer. The good thing with been in the Art is that you're versatile and can't be boxed in a corner. You can do any Job in any organisation. STEM jobs might pay well, but the competition is crazy especially if you're from Africa. The Chinese and Indians will beat you to it, especially IT related jobs. Thats why you as an Art, social science or Education or management guy can go from admin jobs to property management, property development, supervisors, social worker, teacher, social research, hospital management/administration, fleet supervisor..... The list is endless. Secondly, the u.s doesn't care much about your degree, if the job doesn't come quickly, do a four month - six month courses in the job you would love to do. Times and things have changed. We now see nurses in America working as teachers because they got fed up. For the record, the best guys in engineering in the u.s do not have a degree, that is fact. They have experience. You see that you engineering certificate and stem certificate you keep pampering, it will be useless when you get to the u.s, because your boss is not interested in that. He wants to know what equipment and jobs you have handled. If you lie, you will be caught on the job. Petroleum engineers, aircraft engineers, construction engineers and the rest are the high paying ones, guess what, those guya don't have a degree but wealth of experience. You will find a Nigerian who studied English, gets to the u.s, and start working as a caregiver. He makes money, go to nursing school while still working, get his/her cert. And within 4-5years, he is a registered nurse. Things have changed. 4years might look far, but ask yourself, have you achieved alot in the last 4years? The truth is, any society that gives you a job while you're building yourself is the best place to be and that is what makes Canada and America stand out. You can be working and studying and have a nice car, a decent home and a decent savings. Enjoy basic amenities and have a future. This is where Nigeria sucks horribly. When you travel out, Get a decent job, get certified in the areas you would love to get that high paying job and forget about this STEM thing. 7 Likes 1 Share |
