Politics / Re: Bomb Rocks Nigerian City As Peace Panel Inaugurated by prefers555: 7:43am On Aug 03, 2011
Its time the muslim community come out en masse to criticise the activities of these sects. This has been the bane of muslims all over the world, while a small percentage of hardline islamist run loose killing innocent souls irrespective of their religion in the name of allah, the rest of the islamic world watch with their arms folded only to come out later to claim islam is a religion of peace. If islam is a religion of peace. then who stand 4 peace should jettison their comfort and demonstrate this. Abi are they too scared of their supposed brothers in arms?!!!!!! lipsrsealed

Politics / Re: Adenuga Moves To Take Over Nitel For $450m by prefers555: 1:06pm On Aug 02, 2011
nitel occupies so many frequency bands illegally. most of these bands are worth billions of dollars anywhere in the world. If you consider the huge market potential in nigeria, this guy just bought an enterprise worth billions of dollars 4 a poultry sum. These happens only in nigeria. Remember the wimax frequency that was up 4 bid last year, if am not mistaken, it was estimated to be in the tune of billions of dollars. tongue
Politics / Re: Nigerian States And Their Natural Resources by prefers555: 6:42am On Aug 02, 2011
yes, many states in the south east have abundant gas reserves located all over, but they are not economically viable. oil companies look out 4 gas reserves that could last say 5-10 years, not reserves that run out in few months or a year. exploration of fossil fuel in any form is a very expensive venture. tapping into oil gas reserves could cost you close to $10 million dollars on a medium scale. why would you sink such money into a venture not sustainable in years. ask yourself why oil companies spend billions of dollars looking for oil and gas offshore. kiss :p
Politics / Re: Nigerian States And Their Natural Resources by prefers555: 6:33am On Aug 02, 2011
majority of us are not new to these so called mineral lists, as a widely travelled geophyscist, i can tell you that the actual details of how much mineral resources a state is able to produce is either under investigated or either over over estimated. from field research, i found out that a state like taraba actually bares regions that produce blue beryl a.k.a aquamarine, ruby, sapphire and the restin large quantities, i bet these minerals are not been acknowledged. federal govt through the nigerian geological survey agency is not doing its job as it should be despite the funds available to it. very typical of nigerian agencies. embarassed cry

Business / Re: Cbn To Test-run Cash Transaction Limit Policy In Lagos by prefers555: 10:31pm On May 27, 2011
GUYS, I THINK WE SHOULD APPLAUD THE NEW INNOVATION. ALL WHAT THIS POINTS TO IS THAT IF U ARE A MOTOR DEALER, A IMPORTER OR EXPORTER ETC YOU ARE REQUIRED TO GET INTERNET LITERATE AS YOUR TRANSACTIONS WOULD BE MADE ONLINE. LOWER RISK OF FALLING VICTIM OF ARMED ROBBERY AND ALL OTHER VICES. THE AVERAGE MARKET WOMAN IS NOT BOTHERED UNTIL HER BUSINESS XPANDS SO MUCH THAT SHE WOULD HAVE TO BRING IN HER COMPUTER LITERATE CHILDREN OR RELATIVE TO HELP HER WITH ONLINE FUND TRANSFER. SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD IDEA, BUT THEY WOULD HAVE TO INVEST HEAVILY ON IT SECURITY AS A LOT OF MONEY WOULD BEGIN TO FLY AROUND OUR CYBERSPACE LIKE WE HAVE NEVER SEEN.

I THINK ITS A GOOD IDEA!!!
Politics / Re: Nigerian Masses Are As Corrupt As Nigerian Politicians (evidence) by prefers555: 2:50pm On May 26, 2011
@krixik, man u have said it all. You alone has made sense of this matter. Everyone in nija thinks his poor neighbour is a potential thief. The onle reasone why there is sanity in the foreign countries is that there is a law feared and respected by all. For instance, why is mexico, americas neighbour so corrupt, even with proximity to america? simple, the govt there is corrupt and individuals in america benefit from the drug business.

Even the ghanians, that we think are saints were partly responsible for corruption in  nigeria in the early 80s, they bought in the prostitution business and smuggling business. Today, the country is better becos somebody decided it was time to put a stop to it. In nigeria, we the masses are followers, we ve just not been able to challenge our elite politicians. The moment we do this, i bet u an average nigerian will turn a new leaf. Remember, there was a time the average nigerian loved his neighbour not becos he was rich or poor, but becos he is nigerian and we still do.
Politics / Re: Ogun Lawmaker Assassinated! by prefers555: 6:32pm On May 24, 2011
@1025, ur comments are not only callous, but cruel. Imagine if the child and bereaved mother are reading ur comments. I can imagine u would laugh loud u did nigeria a good favour. I guess not. I think u should withdraw ur statement. We are not suppose to make in-human statements especially when it involves grieving families.
Politics / Re: Six Militants Sent Back To Nigeria For Misconduct In USA by prefers555: 8:51pm On May 23, 2011
I DONT BLAME THIS GUYS. IN FACT I HAVE ALWAYS SALUTED THE COURAGE OF THESE GUYS. WHILE WE SIT BEHIND OUR COMPUTERS AND POST COMMENTS ON NL, THESE GUYS TOOK OUR IRRESPONSIBLE GOVT BY THE JUGULAR AND THEY GOT THESE COMPENSATIONS. FOR ALL I KNOW, IF U HAVE BEEN TO THE ND OF FROM THE ND, YOU WILL KNOW THAT GETTING A JOB 4RM THESE OIL COMPANIES AS AGRADUATE IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE AS RECRUITMENTS ARE MADE FROM THEIR CORPORATE HQ, EITHER IN LAGOS OR ABUJA.

TELL THEM U ARE A MILITANT AND U ARE ABOUT TO FRUSTRATE THEIR BUSINESS (OIL COs), THEY SHIEVER AND U GET WHAT U WANT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. IT IS AS SIMPLE AS KNOWING THAT WE ARE LIVING IN THE ERA OF USING FOR NOT DIALOGUE TO MAKE ENDS MEET. I DOUBT IF OUR LEADERS CARE ABOUT WHAT ADVICE OR COMMENTS WE POST ON NL. THE ONLY LANGUAGE THEY RESPONSE TO IS VIOLENCE. THE BOKO HARAMS AND ND MILITANTS OF THESE WORLD WERE SMART ENOUGH TO REALISE THIS.

I think it is hi time we take over that national assembly, using the pastor bakare option. it is time we take our destiny into our own hands. These guys, i tell u dont have faith in this country working out. They are only interested in gettting what they can get as long as the country exists. Sometimes i wish i could claim citizenship in another country. We are too docile in this country.
