Not necessarily, the process might take even less than 3months.
Just give it a try if you can provide the evidence I mentioned earlier.

Is there anyone that did got a visa after appealing his or her rejection.
I wish to know because I don't want my efforts to be futile

Yes, Appealing means you have to provide convincing argument and evidence to why their decision of refusing you the visa in the first place was wrong.

Is it possible to block the remaining school fees amount in the same block account or do I create another one.
And another question is,why is it not advisable to use Naija account statement because that's the one I can easily get.
Thanks

Yes you can block the amount in the same block account. Please discuss the issue with your block account provider. I know from experience with coracle is possible.

Nigeria account statements is not a stable and secure source of finances at least for your studies in Germany, because you have access to withdraw the money at anytime and use for other purposes which doesn’t relate to your studies.

Most importantly you have to provide the source of the funding ( Businesses, savings, inheritance, family support etc.)

While writing your appeal please give reasons why you choose this university, what impact studying there has to your future endeavors, which other Unis can’t provide you, why it’s worth it for you to pay so much tuition to gain the experience from that institution, past and future projects, inventions, discovery and researches of this UNi that has or will impact the global economy positively and how u eagerly want to be part of that development, what benefit it will have for your country and personal career development. Etc.

State facts not just fictions all will be fine

While writing your appeal you need a solid proof of fund and also the source of the fund.
Please do not submit Nigeria bank statements as it is not enough to convince anyone (unahh know the reason why). I will suggest you pay for your tuition at least for first and second year of your study or block the equivalent amount in a German blocked account.

Secondly analysis your motivation letter again if possible post it here so we can check if you have indicated anything which sound doubtful.

Do not submit appeal letter without a concrete proof that you can afford to finance the high cost of your studies.

Did you type this question on Google or ChatGPT before even coming here?

I see no curiosity in the minds of some members here and it is sad, especially for persons who wants to study abroad. Then we thing of negative profile when being queried by Consular authorities.

Threads like this are sometimes policed by Consular officers.

I understand the challenges, but as young persons and students/graduates, we should be markers of curiosity and self fact finders.

Most people do use google or whatever means to get their information and even that some still need explanations from those who have passed through the processes base on their experience. As we say auf Deutsch „sicher ist sicher“

No attestation de residence won’t suffice, because it’s not a residence permit.

mrbrodaman:
I am writing this here because I see what Nigerian students and not just Nigerian students but African students at large are going through regarding this Germany situation and after a long time of being involved in this situation I can say that something doesn't quite add up.

Not to discourage anyone but this German thing is now a racket, a well calculated one if I may add. The thing don pass getting a date for interview. I know people that got dates in Benin and also in Ghana and after weeks of waiting, they had their visa denied for some of the most frivolous reasons. It is know about who you know and how you can "cheat" the system using the help of an "inside man" ......keep reading.

These Germans are now using African students to raise funds through their visa fees of 75 euros, similar to what the Americans did a couple of years ago. It's a calculated scheme, dem don see sey we dey desperate, I know of people who also funded blocked account, submit health insurance proof on the DAY of the interview, VO collect money, keep the applicants waiting for 9 weeks (current waiting period) and then after all that time they came up with a silly reason of denial. E don red now. The Germans however are very pretentious people and they are trying to white wash their image so they would rather bring in Afghans, Iraqis and Syrians that have absolutely no skill and can neither speak German or English, they do all this just to have the image of a caring nation on the global stage as they are historically known as being a very power drunk and manipulative nation, so guess what happens when these Afghans and Syrians with no skill come into Germany? They are totally unemployable and can't pay taxes so the German government place them on welfare and do you know one of the ways (note that I said one of the ways, it's not the only way but one of it) the German government get funds for their welfare programs? Through the visa fees that gets paid globally by numerous desperate African students looking for a better life.

The USA did this and after African students realized and stopped flooding the USA embassy, what happened? They started making their application system a little more easier as they desperately need the funds from the Visa fee. UK did it also when Theresa may was the PM, Now they are trying to make the UK attractive for African students by promising an 18mths stay after studies. Germans now have gotten the idea, they offer free education alright so you might ask, so where do they get their money from? Visa fees and in some cases that YOUR money that is in blocked account, it's only there in numbers as anyone who knows how the banking sector operates knows that funds are used for large scale trades - Forex, Hedge funds, Real estate and more recently Crypto. So while you are appealing your denial or praying and fasting you are contributing to the Visa scam that has been going on in the German embassy across Africa for about 2 years now, while they in turn use your money to trade and accommodate refugees who have no skills and no plans of assimilating or contributing to society while desperately trying to launder their image as a new Germany, a new image far away from the "world domination" days.

Guys, wake up. Germany don cast. Not just for Nigeria. I know Africans that also share this sentiment. Some ask their Asian friends to show them their own application and guess what, the Asian motivation letter and application is below the standard of the African but the Indian/Pakistani application is accepted over that of the African.
I have a friend, he is from the Republic of Benin ( I no go drop him name as na my guy and I no want cast am lol. His application was also rejected but now he is in Germany, do you know how he overturned the rejection? A fellow Benin man who works as a V.O exchanged numbers with the guy and gave him tips on how to overturn the rejection, what to bring, how to write his appeal letter basically the V.O gave the guy a cheat sheet and now the guy is in Germany ( wouldn't mention the City). True Story.

Guys no be everything person go talk for here. Germany don cast. Try other places.

I.am.out.

People go just enter here, dey type sh...it. With their time.

Please someone should answer me. How long does it take to get a visa appointment for work permit, from the day of booking? I read on the German embassy website that it takes a year plus.
Is it true?

If you read it on the German embassy’s website then that’s how it is, no one here has any information more than what’s stated on that website.

Better still you can email or call the embassy to clarify your doubt.

Why is everyone talking about masters and other post graduate studies and no one is talking about bachelor's/undergraduate studies?

Is it that hard to do bachelor's in Germany even one has the required funds? Does anyone know the process?

The process is easier or almost same as masters.... German don’t accept waec to study bachelor programs is either u have to attend Studienkolleg or have 100 level transcripts from Nigeria Uni.

If you have to study in German u need minimum of German knowledge of B1 some schools demands more and to study in English u need English proficiency certificate.

Will like to correct this impression, Int'l Rels and Int'l Business/Management are not the same though they may sound the same in the ear. While the former focused on foreign policy, wars, peace and security, history, international law and jurisprudence, economy, education, relations between countries/governments (intergovernmental relations) e.t.c the later focuses on intercultural communication,
business law in an International Context,
international financial accounting/taxes,
languages,
international management (Specialisation) e.t.c

I apologize for giving the first impression that they re same, you re right they are not the same nevertheless you need to ask yourself what motivated you to choose such career path ( work experience, internships etc.) indicate them in your cv and motivation as well as during ur interview also don't give the impression that ur first degree is a waste but rather combining both degrees would give you maximum advantage in ur new career path.

And what if the person has been working his ass out in a business environment (firm that majored on purchasing and supplying, including logistics) more than three years and CV had it well documented about his role.

Still what i was saying as long as his work experience indicate his new career path then no problem. He should get Arbeitszeugnis ( more like recommendations letter from his company stating his role at the company)

Please I want to ask a question related to this issue..... My school will be resuming by the ending of this month of which I did requested for appointment since April 2 but yet to receive a response from the embassy about it, is it possible to try to schedule another appointment at cotonou if it will be faster than this Nigeria since my school will be resuming by ending and am not sure they will give appointment date before then so is it possible to schedule appointment at cotonou and go there for interviews if granted..... Kindly advise guru in the house and who has receive appointment date for category B. Please help me.

From your post I can tell you don’t have residence permit in Cotonou so therefore you can’t apply for visa through Cotonou. Correct me if I am wrong.

Generally and in Africa yes age is not a barrier but German dey look age. There’s something called lückenlos Lebenslauf. It means ur cv should be without gaps which in ur case ur cv and motivation letter should indicate the reason for ur new career path and not after first degree u didn’t do anything reasonable and still want to repeat Bsc

Here's how I would appeal if I'm in your friend's shoe:
1. For reason one, a letter of presence in your school will suffice.
2. For reason two, updating your blocked account with the correct amount and providing proof for that.
3. For reason three, a good motivation letter (well crafted) giving at least three well-thought reasons for a second BSC will do a good job. This is really helpful if you have some experience in the field you're going for the second BSc. You will also need to give reasons why you can't go for master's instead in the same field. I strongly believe he can be considered if his reasons are sufficient enough.

The admission letter was for WS 2000/2021 and he was not Immatrikulated also there was a letter from the school that his degree program can be run online.

No Immatrikulation means no letter of presence.

The degree can be run online means no letter of presence.

No prove that he attended any online classes

He can try to appeal but he should be also realistic. If he was the VO and got such application how can he justify it that the applicant is eligible for the visa.

Alright but based on the reason especially the first degree stuff, what's the chance of someone getting visa after badging a Bsc in Int'l Relations but still want to go for Int'l Business/Management

After first Bsc getting a second Bsc is not always positive especially if you are above 28 years old with no working experience with your first degree. Your work experience could be the reason why you want to change career path or to specialize in other field. Generally after first degree people improve with masters and Weiterbildung (Special Training) here in DE without having to repeat Bsc.

In your case ur first degree is similar to what you intend to repeat in DE. Sorry to say it makes no sense repeating Bsc. It would be better if you apply for masters or better still use masters to get into DE and when you re here you can change and go for ur wish degree if that’s what you really want to do.

Note this are just my ideas and I’m not 100% certain of the outcome of your visa application.

It’s good to do things logically and not give the impression you only want to escape Africa problems.

Hi guys my paddy was just rejected, please how should he go about it? Should he appeal or start a fresh application? The rejection letter is below...

Schr gechrter Mr mudiaga, the German embassy in Cotonou regrets to inform you that your application for a visa cannot be granted after the examination has been completed on the basis of the applicable immigration law provisions. The main reasons for the rejection of your application will be communicated to you below: You have applied for a visa to start a bachelor's degree at the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences in accordance with Section 16b (1) of the Residence Act. A prerequisite for this is that a current notification of admission is presented. The notification of admission presented relates to the winter semester 2020/21. There is no notification of admission for the current summer semester 2021. You also submitted a certificate from the University of Applied Sciences confirming that the winter semester 20/21 will only take place online. Entry to Germany is not required to participate online. The submitted proof of financing is not sufficient. The blocked account has a monthly blocked amount of € 853.00. However, according to the current regulations, this must be € 861.00 Furthermore, you have already completed a bachelor's degree in Nigeria. The application does not explain why you would like to start a Bachelor's degree in Germany again. Incidentally, the inner-German immigration authority in Hamm has refused to give its required approval. For the reasons mentioned above, the application for a national visa is rejected. Sincerely, On behalf of your visa section at the German Embassy in Cotonou You can file an action against this decision at the Berlin Administrative Court within one month of its notification. You also have the option of having this notification checked by the Cotonou diplomatic mission within one month of its notification (remonstration). During the remonstration, you can continue to file a lawsuit against this decision within the above-mentioned period, but this will end the remonstration procedure and the decision will only be checked in the legal proceedings. If the visa application is rejected after it has been checked by the diplomatic mission abroad. if another decision is issued again (remonstration decision), an action can then be brought against the administrative court in Berlin. Please give reasons for your remonstration and enclose suitable evidence, if this was not done with the visa application.

The reasons for denial is too long, appeal won’t make any sense. The Embassy in Cotonou is more strict than Lagos and don’t accept most stuff you guys submit at DE Embassy in Lagos. You friend should find more genuine reason to go to DE, start afresh and learn from his mistakes.

This goes also for those applying for second Bsc and those whose course can be run online.

I said this severally when the embassy sent their rejection letter in April, alot of students were willing to use media to write articles ,.
I personally wrote and posted with sahara reporters.
@odogwuekeke was busy posting fake AD giving people hope and telling them it won't work.
We forget things easily, people are still hoping on October without being realistic.
They will assume I am being pessimistic,

You are not pessimistic, I was attacked serval times since 2018 when this AD issue started slowly. The hope of cat B getting appointment date is almost zero. It has nothing to do with Covid. Many of you are new here and don’t know the foundation of this problem, some went to the Embassy to protest but all for nothing. Firstly most Nigerian students are doing poorly at Uni here, they change from one course of studies to another, even a first class student with daad scholarship was Dropped from his course because of failing exam 3 times. This are some of the reasons the Embassy are giving priority to only the best. Other reasons might be poor diplomatic relations between German and Nigeria as well as poor governance in Nigeria.

My advice is if you fall under Cat B, please don’t put all your eggs in one basket especially if you have the money.

For those attending online classes and sending money to BA you are wasting ur time and money( semester fees, power bill and internet). Online classes does nothing for you when it comes to getting AD.

Try other countries even at the moment things dey hard for here in Deutschland. You can always come through other means but don’t wait for two years and still hoping for AD.

Good morning nairalanders,

I got a mail from the German embassy in Lagos inviting me for a visa interview (category A) on the 5th of May, 2021. Looking at the requirements for the category I'm not qualified for the category but I have started my Master degree (Germany), lectures has been virtual, done with the first semester now in the 2nd semester.

My Questions are as follows:

1) would I be accepted for the interview considering the fact that I do not meet the requirement for the category?

2) if I am qualified for the interview, is it compulsory to have the sponsorship letter with me?

3) can I postpone the interview?

I await your kind advice on this matter.

Thank you guys

There is 80% chances that you might be sent back for booking the wrong category. With your situation if you are lucky to be accepted for the interview it’s best you have every documents listed on the checklist (which applies to you) and lastly you can’t postpone the interview, it’s either you attend it or cancel it and book again in the right category.

Best of luck
