kasonud: @ XHTML and profitlift thanks for d info, pls can you proceed by telling us those honest/riht broker(s)? I will rather want to advise you to go for brokers that are strogly regulated. You may also want to consider those that have good ratings across forex trading forums. Also, any broker that can provide you with their historical data since the beginning of their operation is signalling honesty and transparency. |

XHTML: I'll answer those two questions above. However, let me chip in something. I dug out an email I received last year sept from a "panicked" trader. To support your claim, I have similar experience back in the early years. My micro account was liquidated by a single spike but fortunately I took the screenshot of the chart on 15min timeframe. Then over the weekend I was backtesting and studying my 15min timeframe startegy at that time and to my greatest surprise I couldn't locate this spike that took my account out again. After thoroughly searching and checking with other broker's chart I was convinced of feed manipulation by my broker and took it up with them. I mailed them the screenshot I took as well as the screenshot of the account statement to show them the exact time my position was closed which correlated to the time of the said spike. Two days or so after, they got back to me appologizing and blaming the anomaly on "wrong data" from their feed source and they refunded the exact money I have left in the account prior to that last trade. I withdrew that money out and of course that was the last time I funded that brokerage. Now imagine if I had not taken the screenshot at that time, how on earth would I have been able to buttress my point and win my claim with that broker. Another saving grace was the fact that the screenshot was taken on a 15min timeframe which makes the said spike clearly visible otherwise had it been taken on a higher time frame (e.g 1hr, 4rh), it might be dificult to track down to the exact time. The above and similar manipulations which are not visible but only to the trained eye clearly explains why one can be succeeding on a demo account but it is a different ball game entirely the moment you go live especially with the market makers and deal desk brokers. The broker in question was even a well rated broker at that time. These things happen and experince they say is the best teacher. Nowadays, I compare my chart on three different brokers and automate the taking of screenshots with EA especialy when my orders are opened and closed so I can have a reference point just in case issues arises. Since broker gimmicks is a hot debate among traders, I don't really have the time to be convincing people about these things that happen in the forex world but just decided to present the above here seeing a good platform to do so. Quite a lot of traders only focus on trading strategies and does not bother with the kind of broker they commit their fund. Clearly the odds are in ones' favour when trading with honest brokers while it is difficult or almost impossible to succeed with the crook ones. |

gerald2: Chei, I feel so sad about this your situation, mistake most of us here made in the past that was what you just made in front of us today. Have you asked your self how many percent big Hedge Fund managers make in a whole year Watch Youtube and see for your self, some makes less than 40% every year and they still come out big. Calculate making just 25% on that your $8000 every month for the next 10 years, that would amount to Billions of naira by the power of compounding. With the power of compounding, do you know $1000 invested with a profit of 25% every month would make more than N30,000,000 in 24 months This is to show you that you lost Billions of Dollars not just $8000. An average Nigerian wants 1000000% with N10,000 invested but the rich wants realistic 10% in $1 Billion invested. Something is always better than nothing. Be wise my brother!!! I am always curious when I see huge profit declaration of trippling account or so in a short period of timeframe and wonder if such can be sustained regularly and on a long term; otherwise such will be sending wrong signals out which tends to stir up greed and anxiety in others especially neeebies. |

Ogboraph: heeeelppppp kai kai fxisreal i ve just made the calculation of $8k if i ve taken warning and close those trade or reduce them by now i will be ok for the next 4months oh. i always see this trading as in Naira value on the platform it look like #8000 Nairato my emotion. i thing i will ve a calculator by my side at all time now and target #500 naira every day which is certain to me With all the warnings, I marvel. Since it obvious you cannot control your emotions I will advice you go for a brokerage leverage of 1:50 or even 1:20, that way you even if greed/emotions wants to take over you will be resricted. I cannot over-emphasize that over leverage and over trading is what is killing a lot of traders. MM is the key to consistent success in this biz and that is why traders should focus on MM more that strategies, study how the market works, the breakdown is even on the mt4 platform (if your margin level is dropping, you may want to exit your positions or reduce your lot size). |

If you over leverage and over trade, you will give the brokers the advantage to use their shaddy deals (platform freezing, requotes, slippage, stop hunting, feed manipulation, spikes etc) to take your positions out or liquidate your account. They are your broker and they can see all the orders and pending orders, they know the key levels, they know the order flow and have a large window to see both sides of the market. More importantly ensure you use a broker with strong regulation as well as having their operational funds segregated from clients funds. You may also want to verify they fufill withdral requests without any hassle. |

Pipsland78: You may not necessarily be doing this. Create an account for it at myfxbook and just post your account url here on the thread, that way you will even save yourself the hassle of posting statements either weekly or monthly. In addition, myfxbook have quite a lot of metrics and features that will help you to see how excatly your trades are doing plus the fact that if you like you can hide your open positions and choose to show only your closed positions to the public. |

Pipsland78: An advice to the newbies: please dont take advice from so-called traders who give alerts, talk so much analysis in order to sound professional and claim to make several pips daily but never able or willing to upload their live accounts. Most of them get burnt or just go in circles by making money today and losing it tomorrow. You actually did great with this however these are trades for just roughly 1 month. Can you post the live trades for the past 6 months or at least past 3 months otherwise the purpose for showing this is defeated especially considering your comment bolded above. 1 month data is not just enough to show consistent success. |
