Health / Hepatitis B: 8 Common Ways You Can Be Infected With The Virus- Healthcare Daily by Publichealth: 8:28am On May 06, 2021 |
Hepatitis B infection is caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV). The virus is passed from person to person through blood, semen or other body fluids. It does not spread by sneezing or coughing. Rather, eight common ways that HBV can spread are: 1. Sexual contact. You may get hepatitis B if you have unprotected sex with someone who is infected. The virus can pass to you if the person’s blood, saliva, semen or vaginal secretions enter your body. 2. Sharing of needles. HBV easily spreads through needles and syringes contaminated with infected blood. Sharing IV drug paraphernalia puts you at high risk of hepatitis B. 3. Accidental needle sticks. Hepatitis B is a concern for health care workers and anyone else who comes in contact with human blood. 4. Mother to child. Pregnant women infected with HBV can pass the virus to their babies during childbirth. However, the newborn can be vaccinated to avoid getting infected in almost all cases. Talk to your doctor about being tested for hepatitis B if you are pregnant or want to become pregnant. 5. If you have unprotected sex with multiple sex partners or with someone who is infected with HBV 6. Men who have sex with other men (gay) risk hepatitis infection. 7. If you live with someone who has a chronic HBV infection, you risk being infected. 8. If you have a job that exposes you to human blood, such as laboratory workers, doctors, nurses, etc., you are at risk of hepatitis infection. Signs and symptoms of hepatitis B range from mild to severe. They usually appear about one to four months after a person has been infected, although the symptoms could see them as early as two weeks post-infection. Some people, usually young children, may not have any symptoms, even when they have been infected. Their symptoms may manifest when they are grown. In other words, they can carry the virus for a long time without knowing it. Hepatitis B signs and symptoms may include: • Abdominal pain • Dark urine • Fever • Joint pain • Loss of appetite • Nausea and vomiting • Weakness and fatigue • Yellowing of your skin and the whites of your eyes (jaundice) Any Questions? Ask! This is just a summary to make it simpler for you to understand. To know more about Hepatitis B, you can click here or to talk to a doctor. |

Genital Warts is a common Sexually Transmitted Infection. Imagine that two months after your last sexual experience, you woke up one morning and had pain or itch around your private part and anus and you are wondering what is happening. As the pain increased, you decided to check and know what is causing the pain because you had a good night without intercourse or even masturbation. As you unzipped your cloth and pulled down that inner-wear, lol and behold, all you saw were fleshy bumps around your private part. Now you are wondering where this came from as you always have clean inner wears and it has been long since you had the last sexual activity. Today, we would tell you 6 things you should know about these fleshy bumps that you have. They are: 1. Genital warts can cause pain, itching and feeling of discomfort within the private part/ and anus. 2. Genital warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) which can majorly be transmitted through sexual intercourse. 3. The virus that causes Genital warts, can also be seen on the hands and other parts of the body. 4. The warts affect both women and men. 5. Health / Are You Pregnant? Why You Should Start Going For Antenatal Care by Publichealth: 3:27pm On May 04, 2021 |
Once upon a time, i had a pregnant aunt that was claimed to have been killed by charms from a co-wife. when i enquired about what happened, i was told that when she was almost due for delivery, she started CONVULSING and before you know what was happening, she passed on. What she died from is a Condition called ECCLAMPSIA. It is a medical condition that is seen in pregnancy. If my aunt had attended Antenatal care, she wouldnt have died from Ecclampsia. No pregnant woman should be allowed to die from a preventable cause and that is why today, i want to talk to us about the Benefits of Antenatal Care. Screening: Good antenatal care includes regular screening which can detect and prevent early complications such as hypertension and diabetes in pregnancy; both of which can affect the unborn baby. Best nutrition: There are certain foods that should be avoided during pregnancy. Foods such as raw fish, undercooked eggs, and unpasteurised/soft cheese, which contain enzymes and proteins that are dangerous to a developing foetus. Your immune system is also working to for two, making it more susceptible to bacterial attacks. Antenatal care educates you about what foods to stay away from. Important vitamins: Prenatal vitamins play a big part in the health of your child. Even with a healthy diet, you will need supplements due to the additional hard work your body is doing. Additional key nutrients are typically found in folic acid and pregnancy multivitamins, both of which help support neural tube defects, baby’s development, and the prevention of anaemia. For any questions about Antenatal care and its benefits, see: https://publichealthnig.com/antenatal-care-benefits-when-to-start/ or ask below, and a doctor from our team would do our best to respond when we can. Important Message: Please do not delay medical care at this time. If you have severe or worrying symptoms, please do not wait for our Online consult, but proceed to your nearest hospital for checkup. |

Like i mentioned earlier, If there is an Ejaculation, and the ejaculation contains Sperm, and the Sperms are Viable, You would be able to father a Child. It is only when there is no viable sperms in your ejaculate, or no ejaculation at all that you should be worried. You should check out possible causes of Male infertility here: https://publichealthnig.com/male-infertility-causes-treatments-prevention/ Mainlymanof: |
