What exactly happened, we don't know and this blogger won't tell us. Reasonable threads are just wasting somewhere on nairaland and this rubbish excuse of journalism is making front page. No location, no source, no story, the parties involved were not even mentioned and people are just raining curses and abuses on some faceless girl. I weep for the demise of the real nairaland FP

Well...it happened in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state. The dude had se.x with her mom and got her twin siblings pregnant simultaneously !

solomon111: Go read up on the history of lagos.
The real owners of lagos have been bred out by yoruba hordes.

Why would anyone say those ^^^^?

I don't support any Nigerian to be deported anywhere in Nigeria but with this type of jargons you typed, it will only make Fashola look very justified !

Can we at least talk like educated folks? I guess the indigenes from Ikorodu, Badagry, Epe, Agege, Ise-Eko, Oshodi, Mushin, oto, Isolo... etc that have been there before thousands of years before anything called "Nigeria" were Ndi-igbo ?

I meant no harm. I just want to know because I'm traveling to Naija this this fall to begin a project similar to this. I'm enjoying and learning from all Syder had to say. He is the more reason I really think I can build 4 bedroom duplex in Lagos.

Thanks.

na2day!:
Nigeria is a banana republic!
Where the so called constitution is routinely trashed!
Many here, crying constitution, who in this pile of earth is obeying it?
GEJ always do as he wish while rubbishing the book, why am I not surprised if the governors follow the same path of lawlessness?

I've always been cautioning our brothers from the east, the kind of caustic and corrosive words they use on their fellow Nigerians especially the yorubas.
Nairaland is a faceless forum and I can assure you that nigerian policy makers are here under different guises, I will not be surprised if Fashola himself is here. You cannot continue to enjoy the hospitality of your host and at the same time come online to heap insults and abuses on him.

Let's all take it easy with all the unguarded words, written to disparage each other.

The way people talk here, whipping up anti tribal sentiments, let me assure you all, when the chickens come home to roost, Rwanda will be a tea party.

Let's all jettison all these hatred before it consumes us all!

Words of wisdom !

You did said you had just N8.8m budget for this project, which a lot of people including myself doubt(the money) will be sufficient. If I may ask, how much have you spent to this level from your tight budget?

Thanks!

Add another N200k and travel to China, buy some ladies stuff or things needed daily by everyone, then get a place in Lagos island or if you prefer fast cash but just 50% returns distribute the goods to local retailers. You may also go to Tokyo, Japan and pick their garages, preferably TVs and microwaves and ship it to naija, 300% of money invested is guaranteed in just a month. The only problem with Tokyo is its very expensive city, you can only last 3 to 4 days there with what you have.

If you can sleep on the street or find a local church to sleep in Tokyo... you will make it big time!

Good luck!.

Port and major jetty facilities in Lagos.

1) Customs Quays (also known as Marina, it is the first port in Lagos).

2) Ijora Wharf (used to supply goods to the mainland in times past. It was also used to supply coal to the electricity plant at Ijora and is now used by Julius Berger to supply goods to their facilities at Ijora).

3) Apapa Port.

4) Tin Can Island Port.

5) Ikorodu Port.

6) Atlas Cove (for supplying petroleum products to Lagos and environs).

On the way

7) Lekki Seaport.

8 ) Badagry Port.

spyder880: I love building houses, and the attendant challenges that will inevitably come with it. I love making things happen, and working with skilled men to use materials in creating beautiful designs that will make a superb home. I have just been contracted by a Nairalander to build his house in Port Harcourt. The details are as follows;

Project: A 5 bedroom executive duplex
Client : A Nairalander
Duration: 60 days
Project cost: N8.8m (Foundation-roofing, materials and labour)
Contractor: Ckenneths Homes Nig.

This project will start this week as we arrange to travel down to the city and start work. This house comes with all the latest designs in modern building, granite, decent room arrangement with bigger bedrooms, internal plumbing and electricals, special parapet cornice, stone coated roofing tiles, everything.......

Oga spyder880,

I've been following your post for a while now, and I enjoy the way you details everything. I have no doubt this is going to be another interesting journey. I live in Canada and traveled to lagos last year summer. The place have changed a lot from what I remember of it 15 years ago. so I decided to build me 5 rooms duplex (this september God willing). I just want you to know that you that a lot of naija abroad really appreciates your post and all the info you put out there because it keep us up to date on materials cost. Thank you very much my brother, may God continue to bless you in Jesus name. Amen.

ILIDEFI: I strongly detest Eko Ile and his brother Eko Atlantic. Typical Yoruba bigots they both are. They've never been outside the south west but think they know anytin abt Nigeria.
To start wit, Lagos is not Yoruba land. Lagos was Nigeria's capital city, and today it represents Nigeria as a whole. D beauty of Lagos today is because it wz built by Nigeria, not by Southwesterners, who lack a sense of beauty. Eko Ile and co, how many other SW cities are like Lagos? It's just like northerners coming to boast about Abj cos it's in d north.
Granted dat Onitsha may be dirty cos of the large population of traders and the enormous trading activities going on there, but you guys should visit Enugu and Owerri. Are they in any way less developed than Ibadan and Abeokuta etc? The answer is no.
Go to villages in d East and see development. Men hustle and develop their communities. Fine houses are built, electricity is brought into communities, even roads are tarred by indigenes of various communities, unlike your SW ppl that depend on government to do everything for them.
You guys should change that dirty mindset you have about Igbos, which only portray jealousy. No other tribe in Nigeria wud'v been standing this tall like Igbos, if they faced the civil war, and the ensuing marginalization that Igbos have faced for many decades now. Igbos are still d best in Nigeria, and the transformation you all have been craving for will only come in Nigeria wen an Igbo man ascends the presidency. Mark my words.

You're out of of your mind!
Im 100% Lagosian hail from Ikorodu town. What do you mean Lagos is not a Yoruba land? Eluku lo ma gba e lenu!

oshea44: Some people are just idiot, they have never travelled outside the country Nigeria before and see how the Western World Govt tax the hell out of you, I am in Canada, the govt tax 13% out of everything you buy, 13% from your Wages, $500 for car insurance every month, which tax una dey pay for 9ja, Yet una go dey complain.. Mind you, the bridge cost alot of money and how do u pay taxes? let me ask you a question, paying toll money is it not better than bad road or nothing? Please sometimes let think before we talk, cos its extremely annoying...if my second home Nigeria go bill 30% of tax from my money, i go pay....

Word !!!

In Quebec you pay about 20% (direct income tax) + 13.5% on every dollar used to purchase anything. There are also some places you can't walk for free. E.g Laronde.

Mumu u hav already paid for it!! That's if u are old enough or employed to be paying tax, cause I can see u are jobless or still in being spoon fed by ur parents

US govt can never use tax payers money to build a bridge and still toll it again! They will only allow a toll on a road if it was constructed on a concessionaire basis to recoup investment!

Lair !!! What about New Jersey turnpike? What about Verrazzano bridge from staten Island to Brooklyn in NY? And the list goes on in the US.

Travel / Re: Why Do Nigerian Embassies In The U.S Have Teribble Customer Service? by Qc1(m): 11:19am On Jan 17, 2013
I needed a visa on my Canadian “P” to go see my folks in Naija after 15 years in Canada. I mailed everything necessary to acquire the visa including my original old naija passport to NHC Ottawa but to my surprise I was denied the visa. Why? Their reason was I need a letter of invitation from my mom, dad or anyone from my family with copies their passports or national ID. The name on my Canadian passport shows My Original Yoruba name with place of birth; Lagos. On top of that there wasn't any doubt on my naija-looking-man passport photo.
To make it worse I mailed them copy of my returned ticket to naija to show that I really need the visa because I had 3 weeks to board the plane. Normally the process is less than a week to get everything mailed back to self-addressed mail to you. They deliberately kept my Canadian P and mailed it back to me without visa in just 24 hours to board.

I called the NHC Ottawa for explanations and I wished I’d just let it go! Very terrible experience!

Family / Re: Is Divorce The Answer? by Qc1(m): 7:21am On Jan 20, 2010
I rather would love those in the same position as the OP reply to this. I'm in the same position as the OP. It's easy to cote Bible and scriptures about Divorce, I speak the truth, unless you are going through one or had gone through one then you have no idea what is the effect especially when you are a christain but have done EVEYTHING, even though some does not make  you happy but you still hang in there for the kids sake. Do you force love on your partner that doesn't want you talk less of even compromise on the differences ? What happened when prayer does not work? I guess the answer is Praise. What happend even praises doesn't cut it? What if you fast till thy kingdom come and yet your partner does want to compromise?

I Live in Canada, you can imagine how cold and lonely it can get here sometimes when you are separated from your spouse. when is enough is enough? No matter the circumtances you have to let the peace raign, if not for anything at least for the children involve. Man can only do as much as he could, It takes GOD to intervene in a very urgly situations.

Is devorce the answer, I say NO whatever you do, Think about God first, the children secound then your peace.
