Are you saying God can't even take a person's anger (God forbid)? How dare you limit what God's capability is?

peppy luv: He will go to hell when your father becomes the gateman in hell!

If you want to be saved, you must renounce all faith and allegiance in the Pope and the Roman Catholic Church, which is heretical and anti-Christ. There is no hope for you otherwise. Be warned.
Education / Re: Lagos To Ban Unintelligent Students From Public Schools by qhiwegh(m): 11:12pm On Nov 11, 2013
JECBOSS: In as much as I understand what the Lagos state govt. is trying to convey, I think Nairaland should replicate this. I'm of the opinion that poor command of English language as usually observed on Nairaland is symptomatic of our falling standards in education.

So English proficiency = measure of education??! You do realise that English is not, will not, nor ever will be the first language to the majority of Nigerians. English is basically a foreign language to most of us. So what if we can't speak it fluently?

You're an example that demonstrates English proficiency does NOT equate proficiency in rational discourse.
Politics / Re: Why I ‘ll Build An Airport In Abia — Orji by qhiwegh(m): 3:40am On Nov 11, 2013
It's about damm time that every state capital in Nigeria gets its own airport. If we're to be a premier nation in the world, it's a requirement.

Can you imagine if a state capital in the USA or a province capital in Canada or China lacks an airport?

If we're to be taken seriously, a minimum of one airport per state capital is a must.

Misplaced priority? An airport is NOT a misplaced priority. A misplaced priority would be a 300 ft statue of Fela or Achebe. An airport will improve communication and will facilitate commerce. Not a misplaced priority at all.
Religion / Re: Why Do Nigerians, Even Young Nigerians Give The Devil So Much Credit? by qhiwegh(m): 3:32am On Nov 11, 2013
ojubi: It baffles me all the time how people keep blaming the devil for their problems even simple issues.
Why do we reinforce failure, play the victim mentality, by claiming the devil or his agents are always against us?
I know a girl that verbally abused the hell out of her fiance after their introduction, the guy decided he will not be able to live with verbal abuse for the rest of his life and council all the wedding plans and abandon the relationship, damning the commitment he has made. Now the girl, her mum and her pastor claims it is a demonic attack that is stopping her marriage. The girl even sent an SMS to the guy that says "why are you allowing the devil to use you?

It's the superstitious tendency in us. Trying to frame everything we experience and aspire in a spiritual way instead of analyzing it in a more "scientific" way. When something bad happens to us, we attribute it to the Devil. When we want something, we rely on God to deliver it, instead of figuring it out and work towards it ourselves.

This is a big reason why as a society, we're backwards in comparison with many others in the world. Even the Bible says that if we keep God's commandments, He will bless us in everything that WE DO. The key is the last two words! We must make a legitimate effort at something as if there is no help from God, before His blessing can arrive.

You can think of it like this. God's blessing is like rain water. We must make a bucket, a pond, etc to catch the rain, or we'll never be able to use the water even if it rains.
Foreign Affairs / Re: White Republican Wins Election In Texas, After Pretending To Be African American by qhiwegh(m): 11:57pm On Nov 10, 2013
What's the problem? Shouldn't elections be decide by policies instead of race or ethnicity (as is the case in Nigeria)?

Bome01: Keep on believing in fake miracles! U go grow white hair for yansh! Being Alive is enough miracle!

How could Prophet TB Joshua's miracles be fake? Verily, you're blind, and you cannot see. The Prophet has cured AIDS, cancer, heart disease, paralysis, every ailment known to man.

Do you think that Jesus' own miracles are fake? You need to be saved. The Pope is not and will go to hell.

This is proof that Catholicism and its Pope are not of God. Real men of God, like Prophet TB Joshua would have healed that man right then and there. The Pope, being the impostor that he is, cannot do a thing against the illness.

Harddaysnight: Almost all the gals in abj are all prostitutes one way or the other. why arrest only 8?

No, almost all girls in 9ja prostitutes. Unlike regular girls who want you to pay for all their needs, prostitutes are more honest and less pretentious. I deem them more honourable than the average girl.

webdezzi:
spare us the detail, this inferno could easily have been put out if the government had concentrated on every sector, which includes NEMA, equiping these guys appropriately and investing in safety. No!
they will rather spend Billions putting an accident victim 6 feet below, an accident that would never have happened if the roads were decent.
they would rather ask for an increase in their Billion naira food allowance, here is a man who scammed us with the phrase "I had no shoes"
If the Nigerian people did not vote in the government, who did? Did the British appoint the federal government of Nigeria? Did the Americans appoint the Lagos State Government? Stop blaming the government that the people like ourselves voted into office.

webdezzi: So, Mr do-for-country, what have you done for Nigeria? tell us.

I have done little for Nigeria at the moment because I'm just trying to make ends meet, but I'm not complaining about the government. After all, the government is a product of its people. Do you think the same government could rule over the British or the Swiss? Do you think the people in those countries would tolerate a government like ours?

Business / Re: How Long Can You Go Without Spending Money? by qhiwegh(m): 4:54pm On Nov 04, 2013
naijacutee: Money is overrated and in pursuing it, we miss out on living life. I think I've probably gone a day or two without spending, but I'm hoping to live a minimal life if I can retire in 10 years time. I want to live in a house built by my own hands, with a farm at the back where I can grow crops and a few livestock and then start sewing my own clothes. Of course, I need money to buy some land suited for the purpose, and need to be in paid employment for this to happen, but as soon as this dream is realised bye bye to money!!!

Poverty mindset.

Food / Re: Is Palm Oil Really Bad For Your Health? by qhiwegh(m): 8:20pm On Oct 18, 2013
If you spend everyday in a car or in an office, without regular exercise, most Nigerian food would be fatal to your health. The Nigerian diet is high in oil and fats, originally intended for nourishing people who undergo intensive physical labour in agriculture. This diet is too heavy for the sedentary lifestyle of most of city-dwellers today. It may be traditional and it may taste good, but it is also responsible for the widespread obesity and cardiovascular disease that plague our society today.

Prof Corruption: What's happening now is an unmistakable announcement of an end to a unipolar world. There is a message out there that once you're in good book of Russians, you're covered.

Nigeria depends on America economically, they're our biggest customer for oil. They accept thousands of Nigerian immigrants. They support our fight against BH. Why are people here so critical of America?

Methinks we're jealous and bitter that America has wealth, functional government, and a good environment for its people to live.

If you can choose between Russian citizenship or US citizenship, would you even hesitate?

italo: This is Catholic teaching from time immemoria. The Catholic Church has always taught that those who through no fault of theirs do not know the Catholic Church to be God's true faith can go to heaven if they follow their conscience and live a good life.

Did you guys really think that all your ancestors would burn in hell?

Yes, all pagan ancestors went straight to the deepest pits of hell for idolatry and polytheism. The Bible says so.

I'm sure ambition and hope is something people from a small country like Ghana knows nothing about. overtaking South Africa is only the beginning for Nigeria. It's only a matter of time before this giant of Africa becomes a Giant of the World, overtaking most European countries as well, as China and India have done in Asia.

And after you die, you will proceed to take your wealth and blessings to heaven.

Do you think Heaven is poverty-filled? However much one is blessed in this life, God will bless one even more in Heaven. But does this mean we should not enjoy the blessings on earth? Poverty is poverty. If it's not good enough to be in heaven, it's not good enough to be on earth.
