Hi Aykanbi,

How do you do?

Please did u get a signed maternity package plan from MIHS?

aykanbi:

When you get there and u are thru with financials you can then go and ask for ur appointment to be fixed for earlier than 2wks and hopefully if you are graced u might get an appointment in 4 or 5 days. I'll be there on the third of November. When are u planning to come. And have u got ur appointment with financials yet

Hi dear,
Please what did MIHS send to you cos all dy sent to me was an email confirming my appointment with financials. was that wt was sent to u and wt was sent to u, did it contain the total amount for the delivery?

Thanks a lot.

Freshface: Wow dat was fast! MIHS just sent d appointment confirmation! Dat was superfast! And to think d stories of their delays almost made me not use dem! 2888k! Truly unbeatable! Let's go there!

I think they've changed d Melinda to an Alba. She seems more proficient. Good for dem.

Awww, thanks a lot Ibtisam.

Ibtisam24: Dear Moms who send me emails and details for an appointment at MIHS. I tried all ways and my best to get an appointment for you or at least 3 or 4 moms. They did not accept at all even I went to the nurse I told them my friends should book ticket and hotel only after getting an appointment with OB. They said sould be here physically. I am sorry but what to do.

dserious: @ neferititiram, nice job with the siesta palm apartment thingy...we will need to confirm if all they state on their website is truly as is.

@ Queenetha i hope Ibtisam succeds in getting u an appointment, but if she doesnt you can print out the email you got from financial and also download the maternity package plan word document from the MIHS website and attach to it. Just have enough funds in your account to show you can afford all expenses. You shld be fine with that. Please can you share d phone number/email address of the person that emailed you from MIHS. I am yet to have any contact with MIHS and need to that asap. Thanks.

@Ibtisam pls i wll pm you my details too, will appreciate if you can help me wt dr appointment, thanks.

I think air fare prices are generally dropping now wink, saw Air france return ticket for abt $1,200 lagos-paris-NY....Im waiting for further reductions b4 i book cheesy

Pls share with me ur outcome when u call or email. thanks.

nefertitiram:

It's a 15mins drive to MIHS, checked it out on google maps, it's just 2 turns then you hit the highway directly to the hosp.

The name of the apartment complex is siesta palms. The website is 4rentweekly.com They don't do reservation, you just walk in with your stuff.

Hi neferititiram
Pls did MIHS mail u aa appointment confirmation letter, cos all I have gotten so far from dm is an email booking my appointment with financial. pls all MIHS bound momas to b pls hlp with this info.
Thanks a lot.

I will be travelling sept ending, but have to be in NY for a few days before heading to Phoenix. I actually called the hosp, some lady took my details and booked me in for Oct 14th, and said they will mail (not email, but physically post) an appointment confirmation letter to your house address. But when you call, they will book you in for a convenient date for you.

I am in touch with a lady in Phoenix who will help with getting a furnished apartment complex or suite over there to rent, she will also arrange for airport pick up and all that. I am counting on her for the accommodation bit, and if @rul77 is down as well, maybe the lady will search for a 3 bedroom (if it doesn't cost a fortune and we get to have our individual privacy, not minding the little chit chat here and there! lol!)
Send me a private message, let's plan better.

I intend to use Iberia through Madrid to NY, I just saw a ticket for N196k, seems too good to be true. Then take the Jet Blue flight from JFK to PHX for like N35k.

Pardon me o, I am on a serious budget so I am searching for the cheapest possible options o! 2 babies at once is not moi moi for me. Every kobo counts[/quote]

Hi Vivan,
How are u. congrats on ur baby. Pls did u get any correspondence from MIHS befor u travelled or was it just an email confirming ur appointment with financials and was dt all u took along with u to the embassy?

Thanks a lot.
vivianobas:

Hi Betty,

My name is Vivian and I can authoritatively tell you and every other person on this forum that I had my baby at MIHS and the experience was wonderful. I paid $2,888 during signing of the contract and didn't get any additional bill after delivery. For delivering without complications, I got a rebate of $250 4 weeks after delivery. I paid $260 for my baby's circumcision and also had to pay another $70 for additional pediatric checkup for my baby before we came back to Nigeria.

I even requested for a letter from the hospital stating that my account was at zero balance and they obliged me. So for anyone to come here and state the opposite is sad and disheartening. I cannot even begin to mention all the free stuffs I got from the hospital before and after delivery.

They don't lie and I can convincingly tell you that what you see is what you get and much more. I was there in March 2013 and to the best of my knowledge, they are still the way I left them in April 2012.

Thanks a lot NIta. kiss

Nita2013: Hello Queenetha pls answer yes on that part of d question. Then on d reason part give d reason y u were denied d visa.

After givin d reason give another paragraph and state ur present reason for applying now (that u want to av ur baby in d US and u kno the cost implications and that u r aware u to pay ur bills nd u avv made all d necessary arrangements as to that and u do not intend to av recourse to public/govt funds bla bla bla.) just write a small story there cos that's d only place u can actually explain urself.

Thanks a lot Nita,

Pls another quick question, i was refused student's study visa about 10 years ago do i have to state that wen filling my ds-160 form or shud i put no in the portion where the question av u been refused us visa is? since dt passport has expired a long time ago. Pls ds question is for the house too.

Thanks a lot.

Nita2013: Yes Queenetha Uwc dear. That's what they do now oh booking only Financials cos I guess the pple calling are so much now.

You can go with that and d mat. Package. It's only God. Some pple on this thread av gone to d embassy without any appointment confirmation but was able to show they could foot their bills. And visa was granted.

So just pray for God's favour and grace

Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Queenetha(f): 6:09pm On Jul 21, 2014
Thanks a lot Nita. God bless u. the email that was sent to me was from Melina Llanes confirming my appointment with financial. I op im ok with that, I do as u advised, print d mat package n go with a budget more importantly, God's favor.

Nita2013: Hi Queenetha,

Ur question is not directed to me though but for me I got my visa b4 I got pregnant.

Also I kno two pple who used just d email correspondence from MIHS to apply for their respective visas and got their visas approved. All they went with was the appointment confirmation and one of them printed the maternity package plan from their website. Then they both also did a budget spreadsheet showing all they intend to spend and how they intend to spend the funds.

MIHS formerly gives appointment for financial and Ob/Gyn b4 but I don't kno they stopped it. Now they only give appointment for financial then after payment they give u a date for Ob/gyn.

But there is no harm in tryin to call again and see if u might be lucky to get appointment for Ob/Gyn.

Cheers

Pls was dt wt was sent to u and was ds only d hospital correspondence u used. Pls help a sis out. I will also like any oda MIHS user to pls help a sis out.

hollabeesy2014: thanks Nita...u just got a huge burden off ma shoulder
]Hello all,
I m MIHS bound next month as well as some other Mommas.

The cheapest accommodation so far in phoenix is Crossland Economy Studio. U can book tru extended stay on +18003987829 and tell them u want the extended stay programme. With d extended stay programme u get to pay $1200 for 60 days but to get this u av to book for minimum of 60days. But I hear from 1st October it will be higher. Also in crossland u can book for. Two double bed room.

As regards d reviews about Crossland, it's very bad but bear in mind that these reviewers r whites so little tins get to them. We have pple here that have stayed there and also some members here are there presently and they all say the place is ok. Crossland to MIHS by cab is about 15mins drive and $20/$20 back which is total of $40. By bus to and fro is about $8 but a total of 2hrs travel time (1hr going and 1hr coming back). The Mommas there said they use bus for antenatal visits and use cab when anyone is in labour.

Also as regards Zazu Pannee that's a more tushed apartment from what I av been told but they av some strict rules. They regard infant as adult. If u are going for a one bedroom in Zazu and u r goin with let's say ur mum or hubby, that makes it two persons and d rule is its a maximum of 2persons to a one bedroom thus if LO is born, d baby would be regarded as an adult thus u wud av to upgrade to two bedroom. This I was toldd when I called them and also a mail was sent to me as regards that. The lady I spoke with said it's their fire service rule. U can also call to confirm this. Their rates is weigh more than crossland.

Also there is Extended stay East Oak which is close to crossland as regards rates but it's still more expensive than Crossland and they av single beds only but from d pics, d place is nice.

There is also the one at baltimore that Blesyn83 is presently staying and she has talked about which she sayss is very good as well.

There are some apartments like Monterra, Camelback Cove etc but pls don't be deceived by the rates u see online, I personally called and they r all unfurnished apartments.

I hope I av been able to pass a little info. God bless us all
