who cares...if dem kill am, no be im be the 1st to be killed in power. Even when e dey alive, hw im dey beta my life. Instead e remove subsidy so now pure water na #10 and oda tins don cost with no corresponding increase in salary. All these NL sef dey funny...na jus dey protect 1 man wey no even consider una b4 im increase fuel price say na subsidy...Naija get betta tins to worry about, not some idiots wey just dey look 4 attention tru media. By d way sef, all these BH guys dey craze sha o..u dey against western edu, yet u dey use youtube, Ak 47, IEDs, etc...why dem no use swords, spears and shields fight their war...MUMU dem. I no blame dem cos dem don c our president finish nah. If GEJ do wetin im suppose do, dem 4 don be history...mtscheew...for dose pple wey dey quote quran, una dey make me laff. Why be say na only islam dey associated with terrorism. Y not taoism, budhaism, hinduism, etc. There must be a modicum of truth in pple labelling islam as a religion of terrorism. Xtianity sef no dey help matter. No be some xtian dey disgrace Jesus by stealing billions, donate some to sanctify their money...i don dey vex sef. Until we decide to be free in our minds, we will NEVER be free as a country. Until we comot religious sentiments, ethnicity/tribalism, prejudice, etc, we will NEVER be free. Until we put religion in its proper place and use our brains, we will NEVER be free. Until we DEMAND good governance, we will never be free. Until we stop the 'pray for Nigeria' syndrome and start taking conscious, deliberate and result-oriented steps, we will NEVER be free. Until we adopt and sustain the mindset that made us protest during the fuel subsidy removal, we will NEVER be free. Freedom is not free, it comes at a cost. Come to think of it, show me a powerful nation built by prayers/religion alone? Any small thing, we don 'religionise' am. Any small thing we don tribalise am. Any small thing...My post is not really on the threat from BH. I weep 4 naija. As i type this, no light...i dey feel heat, i dey hungry and i am not d only 1. Guys and babes r jobless in my area with no hope of a better future, una dey here dey discus...Try n visit the ghettos/slums, see poverty, disease, teenage pregnancies, gang fights, drugs trafficking,etc...abeg if we don ready to change this country then NL go be a good place to start and mobilise #Occupynaija and DEMAND for good governance. 1 Like |

I worked in Access bank for a few weeks and I experienced what it is to be USED and OVERWORKED with a low pay. I used to get home most time around 10p.m, though I am lucky because some others get home 12a.m in the midnight and still resume before 7/7:30a.m. The reason why I am posting this is what happened to a friend of mind who is used to be a staff of Intercontinental bank(now Access bank). He left his office around 11:30p.m, got home around past 12 midnight. Other friends are complainning about the same bank and the complaints are similar-overstretching and overworking their staffs and late closing from work. There are other banks that make more profit, have more customers but do not overworked their staff like Access bank. Okay, let me tell my friends and loved ones to resign abi? If they resign, how do they get another job. Before and after Access bank acquired ICB fully, more than one thousand people lost their jobs either through being fired, retired, retrenched or resignation. Access bank is taking advantage of the insensitivity of the CBN to the welfare of Nigerians working in banks and the irresponsibility of govt to create more jobs. I bet you, if people have options, the banks would beg people to work because most people detest the idea of working and working with no time for oneself, family and friends. My fellow Nairalist, I believe in the power of the pen being sharper than the sword and in the power of social media in bringing about change. Please let us speak against the aparthy and insensitivity of Access bank. Some of you may have friends and loved ones going through something similar, let us speak with one voice, Let us spread the message on this site, Facebook, Twitter and other sites. Let us use the power of typing to bring about justice. Access bank can decide to change the current system by employing more Nigerians thus reducing the workloads on their current staff, please start the change! |

@Inufele2, Am not a teenager and am not against the fact that June 12 is considered as the freest and fairest election in Nigeria. Check my earlier posts to confirm. I only talked about a factual life summary of Abiola. He died cos he failed to play by the rules so, |

@dogrice-I respect ur opinion. just know I am not ibo. I believe in the unity of Nigeria. @dayokanu-please google 'deserters in war'. click on the wikipedia link. Deserting during wars is as old as man. Besides, top military officials in countries like Libya, Egypt and Syria changed sides during war, some fled. It is on record that Ojukwu fought a supported and better equipped army. The west supported the NA. Even Gadhaffi could not win cos of NATO support. Gadhaffi was trying to escape before he was killed. Would you then call Gadhafi a coward? For people that think Ojukwu failed cos he lost the war or sth, just know ''it is better to try and fail than not try at all''. If most Nigerians are like Ojukwu, the country will be better than it is today. Thank God, Nigerians are beginning to fight for good governance but we are not there yet. The fuel subsidy protest is a good example of Nigerians DEMANDING good governance yet we could not take it further when the NA occupied the streets. For people that still call Ojukwu a coward, why did majority of Nigerians accept the #97/litre petrol pump price? Why did we(including me) not occupy the streets and face the NA? Why, cos nobody wan die so lez respect a man who could mobilised an army to fight a better equipped army. That Ojukwu lost the war doesn't mean he failed. If Ojukwu is a coward then most Nigerians(including the big names that fled during Abacha's regime) are worst cowards considering the fuel subsidy issue. Let's be objective and stop being tribalistic, For people who call Ojukwu a coward, answer these questions-can a coward with a sound and good education in his time join the army to serve his fatherland? Ojukwu was one of the few well- educated Nigerians at that time that could have remained in the Uk and enjoy himself. Ojukwu left the wealth and affluence of his father to find his calling. Can a coward deliberately ignore personal comfort and bliss for others? Can a coward start a full blown civil war against a better equipped army? let us talk about Abiola, Abiola is a philantropist, politician and a cheated presidential election winner. Abiola won the hearts of most nigerians through philantropy. He could do that and even anyone can still do that because of the high level of poverty in the land. Abiola collected with one hand(ITT), SANCTIFIED his money through philantropy, succeeded in winning the hearts of Nigerians through good works(not the power of oratory like Obama and a well-designed plan to transform Nigeria), contested for presidency, won but was cheated. The silly and dumb (who do not know the laws of power or read any book on power and politics like Robert Greene's 48 laws of power) went and declared himself president, Abiola is NOT a martyr. His ignorance and stupidity killed him. He just followed the motion without paying attention to the overt and covert power games, lez give it to Abiola for democracy yet what has democracy done? What major change have we noticed apart from telcom and IT. Prices are soaring, poverty remains, *to be continued* |

As the one who started the thread, pls my fellow Nairalist lez be objective in our comment and not be tribalistic and sentimental. Just to make some points here--- For people who call Ojukwu a coward, answer these questions-can a coward with a sound and good education in his time join the army to serve his fatherland? Ojukwu was one of the few well-educated Nigerians at that time that could have remained in the Uk and enjoy himself. Ojukwu left the wealth and affluence of his father to find his calling. Can a coward deliberately ignore personal comfort and bliss for others? Can a coward start a full blown civil war against a better equipped army? For those that call Ojukwu a coward because he fled, check and study past wars in history. Now let us talk about Abiola, Abiola is a philantropist, politician and a cheated presidential election winner. The stupid and dumb idiot(who do not know the laws of power or read any book on power and politics like Robert Greene's 48 laws of power) went and declared himself president, Abiola is NOT a martyr. His ignorance and stupidity killed him. He just followed the motion without paying attention to the overt and covert power games. Talking about Abiola being buried in a rented house, I don't know the reason for that. Talking about his burial, it is a muslim tradition. |

@dede1, both men are a part of our history so it is not a bad idea to find out which of them is more popular among Nigerians. We need to ask ourselves the sacrifice made by each of them, the ripple effect of what each did, etc |

@PDude, Ojukwu and Abiola are both dead but these men are a part of our history and we cannot ignore our history as a people so do not see the topic as one that will generate tribalistic issues, just be objective in your opinion |

A few days ago, Nigerians witnessed the death of Ikemba Ojukwu, the Biafran Warlord who fought for his people and against the injustice in the system. He gave his resources and life in fighting for what he believed. He chose to follow his calling rather than enjoying the wealth available to him at that time. Chief M.K.O Abiola is a man that come to the minds of most Nigerians whenever the date June 12 is mentioned. He was the winner of what most people agree to be the freest and fairest presidential election in Nigeria, Who do you think (between Abiola and Ojukwu) is more popular and influential among Nigerians? Please give reasons for your answer |
