Family / Re: Why Are Men Becoming Lazy And Un-productive. by raysrays(m): 4:17pm On Jun 12, 2023
This is one hell of assumptions. Firstly there's no statistical data to prove it trueness. I am of the opinion that you have not been and live in every part of Nigeria to make such dangerous assumptions. There are responsible men who sincerely and whole heartedly take care of there family. If most men where like how you described them to be , why did you get married to him in the first place? Since he was responsible enough to foot your bill and appetite and even went to the extent of sponsoring a wedding (for some) then he was not always irresponsible.
The scenerio you have painted can only happen when you have a man that has from the onset a questionable means of income. For example if you are a wife to a yahoo boy that's frustrated because money is not coming as before, either because client are no longer coming or they are now wiser than him, what do you expect him to do? Than to play bet and room the street.
Lastly if as a woman you resulted to prostitution or you are heating on your husband because there's no money to sustain the taste of the home you will want to have, they it's not your husband fault, you are as easily as guilty of what you accused him of, because it would have been good you think with your brain and suggest with your husband other possible business or things you guys can venture into that will be productive. I strongly disagree with your opinion, Please we should stop misleading people, because we don't know who will read our post, he/she may be easily mislead to assume the solution you provided is the way to go in his/her homes

Family / Re: Frustrated With My Wife by raysrays(m): 11:16pm On Apr 10, 2023
Please sir, I have patiently read all you wrote and my observation is that your greatest fear is divorce. Your wife also understands this, and like some one said this is a thumbscrew she has successfully deployed in keeping you in check and putting you in line.
Secondly, I feel your problem was caused by you and not your wife, most woman wants their husband to be in charge, not just a husband that provides. Be ready to enter into serious arguments with her most times don't just chicken out, if she ignores you insist she must give you a response and please don't be calm about it so the neighbors will not hear, let them hear you, because she may just be afraid of letting people know that she is not that kind of Saint she portrays outside. Please Emotional intelligence is key while engaging in this kind of argument. Do it with compassion. You can settle a lot with this and the same time hit the big jackpot same night.

Lastly sir, i understand you cannot tell us everything, the little details you are withholding may enable us advise you properly. However, work on those little details, it may be with regards to your sex life, maybe you are brief during sexual intercourse, maybe you did something to her in the past and she has not forgiven you yet (cheating maybe one of them and also maybe you have built your relationship on money and being
proud over being the bread winner) . The little details may be many, please discuss it with her and look for a way to improve the situation.

In summary, you seems to either be acting too mature for her or be acting like you are intimidated by her. Relate with your wife very well, make silly jokes, learn some indoor games and play it with her, admire her openly and be loud about it, buy gift.
You play into a womans pant you don't just tell her open your leg you need to perform your duty to me as your husband. Think outside the box sir, no woman on this earth is perfect.
Even poor men that their wives are even feeding get sex all night, why do u think they do? Because they have understood the act of wooing their women to submission, they start with jokes, they hail their woman and appreciate her efforts for putting the family together, they keep hailing and hailing until they hit the jackpot. When they have money they buy soya and buy their wives their favorite wine or liquor..
Senior man i have said a lot already. Don't divorce your wife, but deploy all of the tactics i have outlined and come and thank me letter.

Last tip please, u can also register in a gym, or u can engage in early morning jogging, be looking fresh and hopeful instead of looking frustrated and rejected, always play and laugh. If you are not a music lover start listening to happy songs, Afrobeat is best. Take her out on a dinner date forget about the 75k you give her for food, if you are eating
outside, but for both of you and bring it home.
Change your wardrobe buy new pair of jeans and t-shirt or polo, face cap and sneakers.
Up your wooing game. You will testify after trying these principles . Please the same way you brought the problem here, don't forget to also come and thank us when things start going well.
Always remember don't be acting too mature for her, be the man when u need to be and play like a child when u need to be, help her with her Remote job sometimes make she too know say u get brain and u don't care how much she earns, but u are willing to support her.
Everything is not money oooo, don't be acting like you are providing, even if it is your duty, there is a way u will start doing all of the aforementioned na your account she go dey put her money. She need to trust you and u have to earn it, that is the only way she can discuss things with you and tell you her secret. Woman wen u no court with na'im you want hear her secret. Please be courting inside your marriage now. Enjoy you Marriage....
tomi4life:
I am 35 and my wife is 29, we have been married for 6 years now, we have 2 children a boy and a girl. We didnt court much during our courtship because of long distance.

I really have a problem with my wife and not sure what can be done to address, now I must be very honest am not sure there is anything I can do I just want to use the platform to vent my frustration.

My marriage has not been very good, lately myself and my wife leave like room mates and not lovers, despite the age difference between me and my wife she doesnt really respect me. For the 6 years we have been in marriage 3 things have caused all our fights: cooking, Sex and finance

My wife rarely cooks in the house, things around welfare are not taken seriously, actually in a week, my wife can cook for me just 1 time. She cooks for the children and baths for them daily, we also have a help who does alot of cooking. She rarely askes me what I will eat, honestly I always have to go to the kitchen to sort myself, sometimes I buy food outside from eateries and bucker. Sometimes when she cooks it usually very late 10pm. I have complained severally and what happen is she tries to change, after a week, we are back to the same state. My wife can do without cooking for me for weeks. It really really pains me cos am a foody and I knw hw my mum treats matters of food. she is this person that forms busy, either she is busy with work or some church activities, she always has an excuse. She goes to work only ones a weeks the remaining 4days are remote. To address this issue I now order soups from major restaurant outlets, An example is today easter sunday, I had to tell our maid to prepare rice for myself and the kids, cos my wife was in church, we all went to church but she decided to stay back, knowing fully well no food was prepared.

Sex: our sex life is very boring, when we got married we always fight about sex, cos anytime I ask for it she always complain she is tired, so what I now do is ask for it only sat morning, brethen this is only day I get sex. If I miss that day, it is still next week. We sleep in different rooms, she sleeps with the children in the master bedroom while I sleep alone in another room. I can tell most time she doesnt enjoy it and never ever askes for it, I always ask and initiate it. She just lays like a log, even kisses is a no no, except she is really on, which rarely happens.

Finance:
I have always earned more than my wife, when we got married, I was earning 3 times what she was earning, but she changed jobs and got promoted severally and we were earning the same amount. she also does alot of side runs where she gets 200-300k monthly as side hustle, there was even a time she was earning more than I did. I dint let it bother me I continue to foot the entire house bills. 95% of the enitre house of comes from me, she only pays the maid , buys cooking gas and my sons diaper. Every other thing in the house is covered by me, house rent, school fees, project, all the bills. I give her 75k as food money monthly. I have continue to question her why I should give her food moeny if I still have to end up going out to eat. I think the only reason she sometime listens to me is cause i still provide the finances for the house. The time she was earning more I could see how she belittle some of my decisions. I just prayed to God, cos I noticed the respect was gone, when I talk to her about her role as a mum and mother to the home, she says she is working, she is busy, I mentioned to her that the money she works is for her, she doesnt share with the house, I have never asked her for it and am not against her working, she however should not neglect her responsibility as a mum. That my role as a father, God helping me is to provide, and this is why I work. I also noticed when I got a new job and my salary increased she kinda off felt jealous she didnt tell me but i noticed it, she began to aggressively look for jobs.

I really dont think we have that initmacy, we are just there, my wife cant come to tell me anything bothering her, she keeps to herself. Funny part is she is a very religious person, my wife will sleep with bible on her hand, wake up with bible pray and serve in various church unit, I however dont think she really understands what she reads. She also has a very bad temper sometimes when I raise certian issues, the ways she talks sometimes I have to hold back a response if not the whole thing will escalate. There are days I will raise certain issue up, the next things she mentions is " let just dissolve this marriage as it is not working" sometimes , I just refer her to her bible cos the utterances that come out of her mouth makes me doubt her understanding of Christianity.

I have never assaulted her, we have nt had any physically fight, what happens is most times when we have issues, I dont speak to her for days, then she come back apologizing. Sometimes when am wrong I also apologies.

Am not saying am perfect, I know there are areas I can do better, like in the buying off gift, I rarely buy her gift, not cause I cant but Cos she earns well and I believe she should buy whatever she needs with her money my wife earns approximately 800k monthy.

I expect my wife will support me but it like she is stressing me. when we go see my parent or our parent, it is all smiles, they dont knw hw stressful their daughter is, she even forms trying to serve me food and all.

Dont get me wrong she has some good side, but this thing is really getting into me. I dont drink, smoke or womanise, divorce is also not on the table for me.

Your woman doesn't seem very loyal.. That's why most men are very afraid for their woman to have certain opportunities, they are like kids who start misbehaving after touching a couple of Naira. If your story is true, your wife will leave you, just like most woman leave their husband when in Europe, she will start making little issues look very massive, she will pick offence over what she normally don't get angry at in Nigeria, your good morning may spark up the fury in her sometimes. If you want to keep your family, it would be better you and her remain in Nigeria. However since our country has failed us seeking for greener pastures is a priority that shouldn't be allowed for a second thought. The goal is better life, no matter what happens between you guys, just understand that you are in that country to better yourself also, your children should be your first priority and making enough money should be second. You will always get another woman if bad becomes worst.

Governor Otom is a proven failure, he has no right to point accusing fingers at anyone, he's a true definition of a retarded vagabond.
Benue state is now a shadow of itself thanks to Governor otom, the terrible roads, bad living condition, poor water supply, etc is a testament to the fact Otom is a bad administrator. His likes are suppose to be arrested and hanged.
The problem now is not whether this man is a failure or not, but if u agree he is by the way, then buhari is a great failure, he is a in it. Look out the brighter picture bross, we should stop playing politics of hatred and look out the brighter picture, your interest can not be bigger than the interest of a full Nation. It's time we speak up, even if our brother, parents, friends, or life support system are wrong we should be able to look them in the face and tell them. This life is won't more than the money, gold and diamond you have stocked pile in any account, seeing people happy n seeing their life become easier is more than any gold or loot any government could amass. Fulani, Hausa and the whole ethnic groups in Nigeria are feeling the heat. As at today all ethnic group, clan and families in Nigeria has witness one form of violence, malign treatment because of the insecurity trending in this administration. Bubu has not done well, n if he is still human n conscious of anything happening in this country, I think he will score himself low n will even want to step down, but unfortunately his government has been hijacked n have a shadow organisation overseeing it affairs, but hope will come again, Nigeria will not end up as a failed state n you n i have a role to play, by standing for what is right no matter what.

chierodumodu:
Hello everyone, please I'm really confused here. My girlfriend is a choir member and I find it really weird for her Choir master to always pay her a visit and mostly at night. He stays till like 11 pm before going. Now the thing is she's not the only girl in the choir but he visits just her. It's annoying and at the same time stupid.

Visiting her is one thing but staying up till 11 pm is stupidity on it's own haba. He does this like literally everyday. I trust her a lot but I don't think it is right to have him always coming over and staying late. Sometimes I'll call her and she'll tell me we should talk later because her Choir master is around... WTF!!!

Pease is it right or wrong? I'm confused really.

Abeg help me I need answers please

In as much as you will want this to trend, I just want you to know that this is not true and if it's true, you will agree with me that you are just a big time stupid fellow that don't know what to do, n after agreeing that you are stupid I will leave other nairalanders to offer you some medicine for your head ache, because e nor concern me.......

Just listen friend, first of you are broke and secondly there's someone who is playing a financial role in her life that u couldn't afford, thirdly the girl loves, fourthly don't take a girl's promise to be it, don't put complete hope on it, fourthly you should know how the world works nothing is certain yet. In conclusion i'am not saying you wife to be is a bad woman for making the decision she did, it can be for love n it can be for some other obvious reasons. N for you, you don't have to do anything stupid, u don't need to think of it like u are the mugu, still love her, if it works it works, if it don't, then it was never met to be. Na because of payback make raping, kidnapping, murder increase, get sense

Family / Re: Am I A Failure? Please Rate Me. by raysrays(m): 8:07pm On May 05, 2021
WhiteRuler:
First of all, apologies for any errors you may come across as I am not at the right frame of mind now.

Secondly, this post is 100% real about my life. So nothing is fake in it.

I'm a man, precisely 33 years old. I graduated from the University in 2019 at age 31. You may ask why I was still in school till that age. Well, I have realized that family/parental background matters a lot in a child's life no matter how people try to twist the fact. My family/parental background wasn't a good one educationally and financially as my parents were just petty traders and this has contributed negatively in achieving my goals and aspirations in life. With the above, you can deduce that there was no sources of funding for my tertiary education so I had to find a job after my secondary school while very ambitious about my furthering my education because I always believed in acquiring education up to university level. This led me to doing several odd jobs such as construction site labourer, security guard, cleaning, barbing, hawking, even to remove soak away and many others just to feed and see myself through school. Let me also add that @33 now, there are some jobs I can't do again because of some changes in my health system occasioned by some of the odd jobs I exposed myself to. For example, any strenuous job now is not for me as it makes me breath heavily like an asthmatic patient; any job that requires standing for long or bending down not for me due to broken waist (although these might be solvable issues but for now, I can't tell cos I have no money to visit health facility).

Moving on, while I may be thanking God for the academic success (even though the school is yet to issue me certificate) but I'm having strong feelings about myself. I feel like I have failed in life. I feel like I am a failure. My mates who got admission into university immediately after secondary school are gainfully employed today, living in comfortable apartment (built or rented), married with kids, have their own car and generally doing well. Even the ones who didn't further but venture into learning trade are doing well too. On the other hand, at 33, I have virtually nothing to show for it. Still living in one thatch house, poor, hungry and starving, no wife, no kid(s) (not even a serious girlfriend), no job, no car and nothing to show for my 33 years on earth. This is why I'm feeling like I have failed in life and it has made me to always be ashamed of myself and always trying to avoid meeting my mates who are doing well.

Also, looking at the country Nigeria, most employers recruit under 30. @33, what are my chances of
landing a good job if I refuse to forge age and go for service but collect exemption letter? What are even the possibility of getting a job as I have no capital for business? Note: between 2019 and now, I've learnt several online money making skills but yet to make a kobo out of it all. Note also: ordinarily, I wouldn't seek employment (private or government) because I'm multi talented e.g in football, entertainment or business but these talents need money to develop which is what I'm lacking.

My questions:
Please what do you all think? Do you think I have failed or I'm a failure in life? What is the future holding for me? As at today, the only thing I can boast of is "I am a graduate". Nothing more...like I said, poor, hungry and starving.

Help me with good pieces of advice please before my mind begins to consider evil as fastest way of making money. Thanks.

My friend your story is missing something for you to blow up, and it is Jesus. As humans we often at time beat our self up over knowing life issues, with little or no knowledge that as a Man we can't help ourselves. You have done well for yourself already wish is fine, but at this point accepting Christ Jesus as your lord and personal saviour is the final piece of the jigsaw. Remain blessed

I respect him but i dont respect him for calling out others cause hes not doing so well its either he finds his feet or keep to himself no need to bring others down with him
I like you, I think you are a very smart and intelligent person, so I will tell my thoughts. Firstly Edris has paid is dues in the Nigeria industry,he doesn't need to prove himself any further. We know what he did in his era, and we vibes to his tune just the way we are vibing to other reigning musicians now, like Rema, zlantan etc. The world of music is determined by time, no one reigns forever, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't give them legendary respect that they deserve. DMC before he died couldn't vibe and sing the way he did before, he logically had no hit song in this era, same with 50 cent, Kanye West and soon to be our own 2baba, Psquare and even Timaya.
Secondly, as it's normal in life we all will soon leave this active days for our children or younger generation in nairaland, Twitter and watsapp. Just as our parents can't be chasing babes around again, because their time has past, same with all old legendary musicians, but this do not make them, in anyway less relevant. Thanks

OGA IDRIS WHY YOU NO ADVICE YORSELF MAKE YOU BLOW THE TRUTH IS YOU ARE JEALOUS AND BITTER HES SUCCESSFUL AND YOU ARE NOT SORRY BRO BUT YOUR FALURES ARE NOT BECAUSE OF HIM TAKE YOUR L AND MOVE ON
Oga in as much as we love Timaya, we should also know that Idris belongs to a different era, n during that era he was the biggest star in Nigeria, followed by some few artiste like Tony tetula, that's why also he was signed to the biggest record label as at then "kennis music" that is why also he was one of not the only renowned Nigeria musician that performed at "Star event" the same show that hosted 50cent. He was as big as fifty cent was in America then. If the media publicity and social media platforms were available then, i'am sure Baba would have been nominated for the Grammy's. Except you were given birth to in the early 2000's or late 90's you should learn to respect a legend. Thanks

My dear friend the reason you didn't get the job was because it wasn't your dream job. Regret doesn't bring another opportunity, it brings more frustration and depression. I believe you already know what went wrong, learn from it and move on. You aren't under any curse or enchantment, neither is your village people following you. Greatness means more than just having it easy in life. Great people in fact never had it easy, pick any greatest person in history and carefully study his life you will see. We miss opportunity sometimes thinking it's all in all, like they couldn't be any way to possible way to make it apart from the opportunity just missed, but the truth might be that, the missed opportunity could have been your comfort zone. That would have stopped you from being announced or being that extraordinary person. God's love is for us all!
