My wife received approval mail for her family reunion visa this week (Finally a sigh of relief after 15 months!). Her passport, travel date and insurance have been requested.

The issue now is that her current passport expires in September and she plans to travel in Aug.

She had to hold on to her passport because we did not know exactly when she would be called for interview and she needed to show same passport used to book her appointment for the interview (according to the rule on the website)- hence she could not apply for renewal.

All contacts made to Nigerian immigration service indicate that renewal can take up to 2 months.

Would really appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced this before. Do you advise she sends the current passport to the embassy, or she waits for renewal and then present the new passport? what are the pros/ cons of either actions.

If yes the application fee of 75 Euros, will this be paid in Naira?

My wife is currently filling the family reunion application form. There is a place where they asked her for references in Germany (Question 10).

Is it okay if this is left blank, because she does not have any reference in Germany?

Please does anyone know what form is the · "2 fully filled questionnaires concerning the document verification process "
I can not find any form like this on the website.

Is this supposed to be provided and filled during the appointment?

Do you have any experience with applying for short-term visa at the Belgian Embassy in Nigeria?
Did you also have a case of delay in return of your passport?

My spouse has her family reunion appointment next month, but her passport is currently being held at Belgian embassy because she applied for visa to go on a training. the Belgian embassy is not responding to her mails to retrieve the passport even though the travel schedule is past due.
Does anyone know if she can attend the family reunion visa appointment at the German embassy with a colored copy of her passport, or will she have to postpone the appointment?
