No. Get a facelift model - 2012+.
4matic is just AWD drive. Better for navigating sticky terrain. More expensive suspension parts.

Pro tip from me: Buy a 2012 C350. RWD, not 4matic.

Very many thanks. I appreciate.

Please, I want to get a Mercedes C300, 2008. Kindly advise on fuel consumption and maintenance.

I'm thinking of going for CAMRY 2012/2014 instead.

Whats the diffenrce between the 4matic and the non-4matic.

I really want to join the Mercedes owners club. Been using Toyota and Honda. I currently use a Highlander, 6 Cylinders.

This should be my first educational 2020 post on Nairaland, hope it helps someone in the near future.

Sharp Toks 2007 Toyota Rav4 driven to workshop on a Monday morning, old client That has just added to his growing fleet.

Major issues.
1. warning lights, anti skid, abs tpms.

2. Transmission flare between gear 2-3 .

3. Loud exhaust system

4. Noises from steering wheel when in use.

Diagnosis.

Went for a short test drive to asertain problems, 2, 3, and 4.

All issues were confirmed.

Vehicle scanned and there are permanent communication issues between engine ECU and ABS module.

Ran a quick check on the vin and noticed car was bought as a non runner.

Inspected engine bay for Hankey Pankey, no abuse found.

Client explains that the engine ecu has been replaced recently for certain reasons. (Original engine Ecu Available in vehicle)

Client takes his leave and I'm all alone with the car.

Please, I have a Highlander with VIN JTEHF21A810015556. I have had to work on the gear box sometime last year. For more than two weeks, the selection was smooth and fine. Within the third week, I noticed that the movement is smooth from gear 1 to 2, but when going to 3, it will slow down almost to a halt and then you feel a jerk, and the subsequent selections will be smooth you won't even know when.

I have approached gear specialists here in Abuja, and they told me it is the brain box, and that nothing was wrong with my gear box. Now, I want to buy the brain box, but I'm confused. I don't want to buy gear box and other issues now come with it.

Kindly help me.

Thank you very much for this insight. I went to that Ladipo to get an engine for my Corolla, and I was sold a dead engine. My engine was even better than what I bought. Had to finally sell the car for peanut.

Now I have a highlander that I've been advised to change the ECU, but I fear to. The transmisson jerks when changing from 2 to 3, bit the rest is smooth. 1 to 2, and then 3 and above are smooth. 2 to 3 makes a 'kpa' sound, accompanied with a jerk.

In fact, I want to sell the ride because I don't want to get a bad ECU that would come with other issues.

Advise me, @ Mr Poster pls.

Run a scan on the transmission itself. Be sure they have a scanner that can diagnose transmission.

Thanks for all your contributions so far. I'm not quite sure it is the engine seat. I had even changed one of then. The jerking is peculiar to selection from gear 2 to 3.

I have gone for scan, but there are no error codes relating to the gearbox.

Thanks.

Well, I just sold my Camry 1999 at over 270,000 miles, and it was still in great shape. Travels to any part of the country. I also have a corolla 2003 that most car dealers would sell as Belgium. It has done over 260,000 miles...not kilometers.

I have seen cars with less odometer reading, but are in bad shape. The bottom line is maintenance.

This is not true. How can you write V6 in your description of the car, whereas what I'm seeing here is actually a 4-cylinder engine.
Let's not waste our time here. N/landers, please don't bother asking for the location of the car.

Just go to their website, and digest everything you can. This will help you in your Interview. As for the test, you are going to have Mathematical Comprehension, Essay writing on why you want to be a Pilot, how fixed wings (aeroplanes) fly and how copters fly- from ground position back to ground position.

You are going to find some people who are already Pilots with Certifications and plenty hours of flight, but do not be frightened.

You will do some Physics and English Language test. General knowledge and Current affairs. It is very competetive, cos about 200 of you may be invited, and around 15 may pass, and will be interviewed the following day after the tests end. You will be interviewed on the your Course, why you chose it, and still, why you want to be a pilot. You will also be asked to talk about the Services they render and who their major Clients (Oil and Gas) are. You will be asked the types of Copters they have, and what they look like and differences. Be well grounded in Current affairs. I remember being asked which Politician was shot in Pakistan about 2 months ago (Of course I knw it was Benazhi Butto- I hope I got the spelling) He went further to ask who the German Chancellor was- I did not know it.

At the end, I was satidfied that I tried, and the Interviewer commended me even. He said the next stage was going to be Computer based, and that I should further familiarise mysekf with their Services- Of course I was well armed. I departed from Sheraton In Ikeja, where the Interview held and headed back to Kaduna the following day.

To my chargrin, a letter followed me five days after, saying that they regreted to inform me, (you know the rest) I was devasted! I never thot that I could have missed it. I later realised that they needed only 3, who will be flown to Florida for Pilot training for a year, and will be back, So, it's competetive. Pray and do your best. If you pass, you will get called by a white man (Please SAVE the number) I could not reach Mr Smith, cos I did not save his number. I would have confirmed from him if the letter that later came was actually from the right source. I said this because, the letter of invitation was signed by a white man, the call for success after the test was by a white man. Then, how come this one (the regret letter) was signed by one Yoruba man? Pls note that I am also Yoruba.I would have gone back to Ikeja, or at least give my interviewer a call, but I did not save his number.

Learn from this, please.
Good luck.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Bristow Helicopters Test Format by Rekete(m): 6:35pm On Aug 28, 2009
Hello house. FOR THOSE WHO APPLIED TO BE PILOTS. I was invited to Lagos by Bristow to write their test in January 2008 at Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja. The test was a week long, with 50 applicants per day. For each set, the tests start around 9am to end around 3pm. The successful applicant for the whole week will all do an oral interview with the Chief Operating Officer who is also a pilot (Mr Smith at my own time)
The test is as follows:

How do fixed wings (Aeroplanes) fly d mechanism behind thier flight
How do helcopters fly?
Why do want to be a pilot?
Mathematical
English
Physics
Mechanical comprehension, and you have no much time.

The interview still revolves around the test. It includes also, why u chose your course of study, Current affairs w/w.

Will get back
