@ cr8tive i  and  datnigadaz. You have points there o. I remember a  saying that; it's better to shoot at the sky and  fall because there's a probability that one might land among the stars, than not to try at all  cool   .

Seun, but where are the African or third world markets we can "break into" here in the USA? We rarely see those directors. The US is a very large place. If you are aware of any, please point me in the right direction smiley.

Time out with  INFINITY (excerpts from Vanguard online)

How did you guys get together, where did you meet?
We met in high school, where Samson was the president of our Fellowship and he was looking for a way to make the Fellowship more vibrant. Music worked.  Somewhere along the line, we met Sunny who was a proficient keyboardist. Then, we had this mass choir that didn’t quite go well. But somehow, we bonded as an  Acapella group. With the fusion of Sunny into the group, we started experimenting with sounds. Then we were called  “All for Christ”, but it didn’t seem original  enough because it reminds you of the American group, “All for one”. It was through the help of a friend that we arrived at the name Infinity which was synonymous  with what we really do. We are Christians and we believe if  there is  anything, any work or ministry that we think will last forever, even after we leave this side of the  world, it is music. In heaven, pastors will lose their jobs, doctors will lose their jobs, all what we will be doing is singing praises to God. So, Infinity is like forever,  endless and timeless.

What does the song Olori-oko, symbolize?
Olorioko speaks for itself. Literarily, the word Olorioko si bo means, the owner of the band is coming back. And what we are trying to say there according to the  scriptures, is that Christ is coming back and when He comes back, He will not come as the Son of Man, but as the Son of God in all His glory. And that is actually,  the Christian hope. When we go through diverse temptation and trials in our lives, we look up to that kingdom, we look up to the coming, we look up to rapture and  we are just saying INFINITY believes in that too. And beyond rapture and the coming of Jesus, we feel that there is always an element of hope for everybody but  whatever that hope is, we can take it to the next level when we remember that Jesus is coming back.

Maybe in terms of quantity, Yes! but not quality. Very few Nollywood producers do quality work.  Most of them chuck out half-baked homevies to make quick money, and why do people keep buying? Let's be more selective! We've got to raise the bar!!!!!!!!! sad

Nanaboi, thanks for answering my question regarding location. All the best with your production in Nigeria. Sorry, I can't help this time but if you know of anyone producing in Houston, Texas, I can be contacted.

Cheers,
Rhema

Ok. Nanaboi. You need willing hands. Where exactly is this movie being produced? So that the "willing hands" can know how far they have to travel if this is genuine.

Thanks for that info Needegg. Though I don't know that Actor (Emeka Enyochi), I hope he wouldn't mind you giving out his number. Do you know any movies he featured in?

Cheers,

Thanks Needegg. But do you have any contacts in Nollywood? Do you know of any Casting Director Like Zeb Ejiro or Lancelot Imasuen coming this way? Email addresses? cell phone numbers? Remember I reside in the U.S.

Cheers,

Dolly-Pee, you got my point! In which case one is confined to Nigerian Drama. That's even if the market is big enough here. I never see those Nigerian Directors here. Maybe some of us can participate in their movies. I mean quality ones like Mainframe, Tunde Kelani, Tade Ogidan etc.
TV/Movies / Re: To Watch Nigerian Movies Online by Rhema(f): 9:10pm On Aug 09, 2006
OnlineNigeria.com has 100 or more movies to watch with a bigger screen. There are some that only members can watch if you have 2 minutes to spare for registration. I am just feeling a bit guilty that our actors and actresses may be cheated, as I don't know if they get any royalties from these websites.

Thanks. But how? Do you know where they advertize?

Much love,

TV/Movies / Can A Nigerian Break Into The American Movie Industry? by Rhema(f): 8:30pm On Aug 09, 2006
Good day to you all. I am new to this forum and do not know if this question has been asked already, though I've tried searching. Can a Nigerian who is resident here break into the American movie industry without his/her accent being a barrier. I watched Eddie Murphy's "Coming to America" and wondered why Nigerians or other authentic African Actors and Actresses were not cast in that movie rather than Americans with fake accents. I am talented and would like to feature in an African movie here in the USA. I just don't know how to go about it. Do Nigerian Directors set up auditions here when they come to film? I participate in my church drama which has always been a hit. I live in Houston, Texas. Any pointers? Thanking you in anticipation of your useful advice. God bless.
