Finally, ITA arrived for my wife! cheesy

Just when we were gradually accepting the reality of waiting for the next draw, God showed us His favour. For a journey that started with our first IELTS in December 2014, we give Him all the glory.

Thanks to this wonderful e-family for the encouragement, kind words and support. May God grant all your wholesome hearts' desires in Jesus' name, Amen!

Hi All, I just want to let everyone know that l won't be regular on the thread anymore due to changes in my schedule. This might also affect the rate at which I attend to PMs. The good thing is that there are so many people on the thread that are knowledgeable about the process and will be able to answer any questions that may be asked.

I have learnt a lot, made some good friends through this thread and have enjoyed answering questions. I wish everyone on this journey quick PPR and smooth relocation to Canada.

You have been more than a mentor to us all on this thread and you will be greatly missed

We can only wish you the best in your future endavour. God bless you. Cheers

Hello esosa4real,

I don't know much about the Ontario PNP But with regards to the question if you get nominated, I can confirm to you that any province that nominates you expect you to stay in the province for some time to improve the province economically. I have seen two cases where a province ( Sask & Manitoba) had to write directly to CIC because the nominee did not stay in the province. This eventually led to the withdrawal of the PR that has been issued.
esosa4real:

Eyah!! I can imagine....the delay could weaken ones faith!! All the best!

BTW do you know about this ontarion pnp that's opening again nextweek?
http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNPNEW.html

I am asking on behalf a friend, his score is 417 and while he awaits to rewrite, he wants to know if this new ontario program would need an application or they will select randomly from pool.... what's the basis of selection sef? Seems they wanna change from past methods, now online if am not mistaken and seems I saw ielts lowered to 6 in each band.

Also, is it true that if you get PR via ontario @NP, you must stay in ontario province for a while??

Pls anyone have an input on this?

Find below this love letter from IRCC.

Dear Candidate,

This is to notify you that the requirements for proof of settlement funds has changed for 2017.

Settlement funds are only required for certain candidates depending on the program(s) you qualify for.

*Please check the Express Entry Proof of Funds webpage on the IRCC website to make sure that you have enough funds to be eligible to immigrate to Canada.

You may have to update your Express Entry profile to prove you have the required funds. If you do not have sufficient funds, your profile will be removed from the Express Entry pool.

Please review the changes and update your Express Entry profile if these changes affect you.

Thank you,
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada

Deltadeltadelta, you have to take it easy, as it has be said your attacks on members that have been helpful and still helpful even when they don't need to is not acceptable here. If you can't help other members or share your experience, you don't have to post here.. .... There is no point trying to gain cheap popularity. #fact.

deltadeltadelta:
No, I will not apologise to people who make wrong assumptions about other people and say rubbish because they cant be bothered to read carefully! They deserved an equal dose of their medicine.

Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by richieadeolu: 9:26am On Feb 11, 2017
Oga deltadeltadelta, your assertion is not correct. As soon as you have up to the CRS score and your profile is active, you will be invited.
deltadeltadelta:
See this link below,
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/rounds.asp. Actually, not everybody gets an ITA in the draw even if they have a score equal to or above the minimum CRS SCORE. They select pple to apply and have a maximum number of ITAs that they issue each draw.

Thanks everyone. I truly appreciate your support, advise, recommendations and all through this journey and wish everyone a speedy app process.

I submitted my app on Nov 6, 2016. Details of my prep- eca, ielts, EE pool entry, ITA, etc etc can be found in my previous posts, you can click on my moniker and read old posts for more info.

Timeline:
FSW-EE, NOC 3112, CRS 482.
EE profile created: Oct 14th 2016
ITA: Oct 19th 2016
eAPR submitted: 6th Nov 2016
AOR: 7th Nov 2016
Medicals passed: 8th Nov 2016
BG NN>>IP : 30th Dec 2016
GCMS notes requested January 11th, issued on 21st January and received on February 2nd. Its 129 pages of lots of very confusing info and I had to google a lot and ask people who had gone through the process before to try to explain. The short summary is that it showed my app had moved from central office in ottawa to Accra on 8th Nov and from Accra to London VO in Dec, and as at 30th Dec, it showed eligibility: passed, criminality:passed, medicals:passed and final:approved and the last notes made by a VO same date was "appears RFV"
I was very worried as to why I had not received PPR when app was supposedly approved since Dec but was encouraged by "forerunners" lol! to just wait and expect ppr soon and they were spot on.

@esosa4real, i have been receiving your pms and i have been responding, maybe you should check your junk or spam? @boldinc, I also responded to yours.

I have also received a couple of pms from newbies to the thread, I didn't reply because I am more than happy to respond to all your questions on this thread as that way, it yields maximum benefit. You are able to get responses from several persons and it also benefits current and future readers. This thread would be dead if we all opted to pm when we just joined instead of discussing on the thread. So, kindly ask your questions on the thread.

Sorry about this, hopefully other opportunities will be favourable. Please I will like you to share with me the reasons for declining the provincial nomination as I'm in the same shoe and I've been on the same status for over four months. Also share with me timeline for the application. I will appreciate if you can inbox me. Thanks.
40manlappy:
Congrats to the latest recipients of ITA. Gradually, the "ghost members" (courtesy dupyshoo) are gradually showing up wink

To borrow an expression, "when ITAs are ready, the ghost members will appear" cheesy

On a serious note, let me get this off my chest: our Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program application was not successful! embarassed

It depressed me for a few days. It also made me regret not attending the New Brunswick Information Session in Dubai to which we were invited last year.

Judging from the feedback on this thread, some of the attendees got ITA through that means. I had depended on the Manitoba PNP so much that I was not looking at other possibilities. For my mind, we were saving money for POF sad

Maybe we would have gotten New Brunswick's nomination now or even an ITA angry

Even when the Quebec application showed up last year, I didn't pursue it with much energy allowing our inability to speak French to be an excuse.

Lesson learnt: Going forward, I shall take advantage of all genuine opportunities that come our way...Atlantic Immigration Pilot, Quebec, etc

Hello thetherapist, I've actually submitted my MPNP ITA since September 2016 and my supporter was contacted in October 2016. However, I still await their nomination as my profile has been showing received status since then. We hope that the nomination will come before 31st March 2017 as they already promised that all backlogs will be completed that date.

Hello Damidior,
The process for MPNP is similar to Express Entry as it is modeled around it. However, the first step is to signify your interest by filling the EOI form and if you are Invited, you can then apply to get a provincial nomination from them. it is when you get the provincial nomination that you can go ahead with you express entry application.
Please note that you can be in the express entry pool if you have a good chance of getting ITA as MPNP is only an alternative to get additional 600 points to achieve ITA.
Hope I have been able to help in my little way.

I have submitted my Manitoba Provincial Nominee online application and a mail was sent to acknowledge the receipt.
A settlement Plan B form was sent to my sponsor on October 18th with a time lag of 30days for him to fill the form and submit.
My sponsor had filled the form twice and submitted but yet to receive acknowledgement. The last date of submission which is September 17th is fast approaching.
I need your urgent advice on how to ensure submission before the deadline .
Your quick response will be appreciated.

Hello shinarambo1, thanks for your contribution. I also have intentions to migrate to Manitoba and I'm sure your contributions will be very helpful. I have completed my ITA under MPNP SW. however, my status in still on document received for a while now and it has not changed. My supporter confirmed that he was contacted two weeks ago. Please do you have an idea of how long it takes from when MPNP application submitted and the eventual nomination out.
shinarambo1:

There are no immigration rule(s) that gives entry clearance officers the authority not to grant student have visa to people of over 30 years old. Canada does not discriminate based on age, gender or culture.

A friend of mine got his younger brother who is over 30 years old here just last month via student visa. He resumed a diploma program at the local college here. Another friend got his brother-in-law into the country last year semptember. He is over 30 years too. The two lads both attend the same college(red river college). In addition to that, there are countless numbers of Nigerians over 30 years of age attending various msc and phd programs in universities all over canada.

Having lots of money in the bank or access to credit does not translate to easy visa issuance. Infact, the ECO might see your house(s) or car(s) as a liability if not fully paid off. My wife's colleaugue, a pharm from nigeria just resumed at the university of manitoba. She is over 30. She got scholarship offered by uni of manitoba just enough to pay her school fees and keep her alive every month. She had less than a million in her account in Nigeria when she applied, yet she was granted a study permit.

"It is left for your cousin to prove to the ECO beyond reasonable doubt that he or she is a genuine student".
