Politics / Re: Will You Vote For Gej In 2015? by RichieTayo1(m): 8:24am On Feb 09, 2012
One thing is clear from my assessment of GEJ, he is a lucky fellow with good desires for Nigeria. BUT, the bad thing about luck is it's neither transferable nor build up. It's only for self and it's in the class of beautiful smiles, conducive whether & mood swings; they don't leave any lasting impact, they're all soon unavoidably forgotten. These are not what good leadership is built on, these are wrong materials for building an institution, a society or a nation.

Whether GEJ contests in 2015 or not, for me, he's out of the question.

Again, it seems most of us don't understand the basis on which to choose a leader; we don't choose a person to pacify his group, race or primarily to compensate him, we choose for the human capabilities, influence & resources a person has from which we all stand to benefit. When we put someone in position just because we want to pacify the minority, because he's always been lucky or because many people love him, we remain a people who don't know what we need & put ourselves (they're not to blame) in a situation where we'll never cease regretting.
Politics / Re: Gej Sends Tenure Elongation Bill: "i Had No Shoes : " by RichieTayo1(m): 10:25am On Jul 27, 2011
I'm afraid at d direction our supposed leaders are moving.

1) If the very 1st bill Jonathan is sending to d NA is on longer term, then it's in indication of priority. The question is 'for who would d President make longer tenure the top priority'? Is it in his character to do things for d good of the Nigerian citizenry?

2) What do Nigerians stand to gain more in tenure elongation than making d best of every moment to make life worth of living for the common man?

3) The top responsibility of Govt. as entrenched by law, is protection of lives and property; in d face of massacre still going on in parts of the country, with no blue-print of checking militant insurgents in the country, with no clus yet on the right front to tacke the Boko-Haram Melee that has cut down many of our youths at their prime and is still threatening Nigeria's peaceful co-existence, despite inability of the Govt. to unravel the perpetrators of series of Jos alleged political killings of the pple of that state, flood (part 1) ravaging parts of Lagos, destroying lives and property in its track and general insecurity pervading the country, can we belly the thot that what we need more at this time is tenure elongation, than addressing these issues that threaten our existence?

3) Is it not getting clearer by the day that the handful few, less than 2% of Nigeria's population, are certainly cut off from the very pple they claim to be leading? Are we Nigerians are the pawns in their power game?

If all these are correct, what makes their deceptions to sweet for us to swallow? Of course, Obasanjo, JEJ's godfather, attempted this same thing, but God didn't allow him. Now, we see more of him here and there, close to JEJ and we don't yet seem to be bothered about who's beating the drum Jonathan is dancing to. He's gone frm I'm inexperienced - I'm not contesting - siddon-look - I had no shoes, if I can make it, U can - I will serve only one term - four years is not enough for any Govt. to do any meaningful work, and now to THIS.

GEJ kept sweet-talking us from the comfort of our free personal endeavours into his inner prison of conscience and we seem to be enjoying every moment of the adventure: Nigerians! Wake up!! If we allow him to get this we're iredeemably compromised.

Same goes for Nokia E70 phone.

Kindly post a reply here. Thanks,

Politics / Re: What Exactly Has Fashola Done In Lagos? by RichieTayo1(m): 2:03am On Jul 26, 2011
I thot by reading thru d posts on this thread I wud see pple mentioning 'specific' achievements of Fashola Govt in their areas, but I'm just getting madder and madder at generalsations and lame defenses.

I've bn driving thru Agege-ishaga road and, no matter how much U wish to hate d Gov. U'll give him credit for d job well done there: good canal bridges were constructed along d line, water ways on both side of d road and new electric poles to replace d old ones have been properly installed with necessary (I don't know what they call those small hanging) transformers.

I also read in some reports that he has commissioned d 2nd 10Mwatt power station in d Island and another one is underway to serve d continent's printers' capital (somewhere close to Fadeyi).

He began relaying d tar on Abesan Estate main route b4 d election and has continued steadily after d election. In d same estate, his gove has almost completed a mini water-works station that was started barely 2yrs ago.

These are just d few I can think of right now.

Politics / Re: D.Mark Seeks Declaration Of State Of Emergency In Flooded Areas In Lagos by RichieTayo1(m): 7:10pm On Jul 19, 2011
@geosegun U're d 1 who need 2 be able 2 read inbetween lines: Fashola has become d standard by which performance of elected officers are measured in Nigeria 'cos of his above-average performance. That's why they envy him. Worse still their eyes dey shuk 4 Lagos, not 'cos they have any gd plan 4 us, but to put their DIRTY HANDS in Lagos money.

If they can declare partial state of emergency in Lagos, they'll use those areas as their launch-pad 2 wrest Lagos from ACN in 2015 (i.e. If they wait till then). Trust me, they'll neva conclude any ecological 'amelioration' until they succeed to vandalize Lagos.

Let him declare state of emergency in Maiduguri, Borno, etc. By d way, where was he when by wicked acts of men innocent corpers, valiant police officers and other innocent pple lost their lives to Boko Haram assaults? Boko Haram will bomb him. Amen!their lives to Boko Haram assaults? Boko Haram will bomb him. Amen!

Religion / Re: Did Jesus Discover Christianity? by RichieTayo1(m): 5:01pm On Jun 21, 2011
Thx, newmi 4 d reply.

I just want to point out that dilluminati needs to clear his head so as to enable him find d truth more quickly, 'cos he actually began by mixing 'discovering' with 'founding'. He then goes on to give a long and conflicting opinion of christianity. The story about Constantine is true though.

D name, dilluminati is intriguing 'cos it represents d enlightened, elite sect used by d Holy See to unleash terror on or summarily eliminate those who opposed its policies or dissents from d Catholic faith.

Anyway, if U seek the true God, Jesus is d way!
Politics / Re: Nigeria Is number 14 On The List Of World Failed States by RichieTayo1(m): 4:38pm On Jun 21, 2011
'In
Nigeria, steady in the rankings
this year at No. 14, post-election
rampages in April killed as many
as 800 people.' The report was apparently published b4 d inauguration of d present Govt. B4 we stepped up 2 d league of nations throwing and wearing knockout perfumes.

Anyways, it's wonderful 2 hear an insider, Sec, Nat. Planning Comm saying today that Nigeria is a failed state. Need we struggle with d glaring fact more?

Nigeria at this point can't afford 2 excuse inept leadership as presently constituted at d Fed level. We're too varile a nation to be led be a clueless president. This is blind leading d seeing. What can be responsible 4 this anomaly? Simple, ignorance! 'My people are destroyed 4 lack of knowledge'.

Se na like dis we go de dey?

God save Nigeria!
Politics / Re: Breaking News - The Nigerian Railway Is Back For Good. by RichieTayo1(m): 8:12pm On Mar 24, 2011
kalokalo:

Why can't the Government allow private entrepreneurs to buy trains and run on the existing tracks. Its similar to how we have private transporters like Chisco, ABC, Ekene Dili Chukwu running buses on public roads. Or how private airlines like Arik, Dana, Air Nigeria are running using public airports.

Why does the NRC have to be a monopoly . We all know how inept and corrupt monopolies like Nigeria Airways and Nitel used to be until they were forced to face competition from private firms.  Now Railway Corporation is offering us decades old and slow locomotives because there is no alternative to them. angry angry

The industry should be liberalized to let private investors bring world class service to Nigerians that we will pay for!!. I suspect that would be the death knell to the mismanaged NRC like it did for Nitel and Nigeria Airways.

Now, that's a fresh breath in this thread, and I think I agree with U. In retrospective analysis however, who associates with failure? No serious law maker would want to waste precious time trying to amend d laws by which d hitherto moribound NRC was operating. But given d attention drawn to it by GEJ to get votes, if d trains continue to run after elections, just IF, then there would be need to amend d laws. Afterall, d constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has continued to undergo amendments.

See shameless people trying to allocate everything to GEJ.
Why shout down Kobojunkie? If this was Yar'Adua's baby you must give credit to where it is due. This is how adverts I see on TV these days are giving GEJ credit for the Amnesty programme that was effected under his predecessor. Na wa o!

Nigerians will always be slaves because they are easily satisfied with crumbs. These crumbs from the poisonous PDP cannot sate our call for accountability and good governance!

When some of you grow up and start paying taxes you will learn to demand more from your leaders.

Many thanks. U capture my opinion.

In addition, with all his western educatn n exposure, he believes Nigerians don't deserve d standard guage railway with faster, safer n more decent coaches. These ones he has thrown in our faces belong to d museum in developed countries and will surely rot away soon. That justifies why he won't do d right thing.

Nigerian political office holders! Nigerian political office holders!! Nigerian political office holders!!! U're eating the inheritance of your children, U're there4 cursed with a curse: May U never have peace. May destruction come upon all your possessions and all the loot U gather will be consumed by the devourer in the midst of your days! Ravenous cankerworms will eat you up and your remnant shall have no respite from the scavengers. Amen!!!

Politics / Ambassador Angulu (icpc Boss) Fired, The Cjn N6bn Scandal & Gej's Connection by RichieTayo1(m): 1:20am On Mar 24, 2011
Face of Courage, SaharaReporters calls it: The acting chairman of Independent Corrupt Practices and other related crimes Commission (ICPC) has been fired for his refusal to 'play ball' with the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) over a N6bn fraud scandal involving him at the Nigerian Judicial Institute (NJI).

The CJN convinced d President he must be sacked because his 'inflexibility' may affect the President's and his party's chances when legal fire powers (which are much anticipated) begin after the polls.

Please, read more at

http://www.saharareporters.com/news-page/attempts-quash-investigations-n6-billion-fraud-scandal-national-judicial-institute-cjn-kat

The question we should all ask is: in whose interest was the ICPC boss sacked?
