(The Importance Of Praying Without Giving Up)

“…[Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up).”

LET’S TALK
Someone once said, “I have so much to do in very little time; it leaves me with very little time to pray. So, in the mornings, I pray for only five minutes because I always have a busy day.” That’s a big mistake.

Never skip or reduce your times of fellowship with the Lord for other things you might consider “important.” The wisdom, guidance, and strength you need for success come from the Lord. Always remember that.

In the Scriptures, we find certain instances where God’s people were overwhelmed by their adversaries in numbers and weapons.

In the days of King Asa, Judah was completely outnumbered by Zerah, the Ethiopian King, who invaded Judah with an army of a million men and three hundred chariots. Asa cried out to the Lord, and the Lord gave him supernatural victory (2 Chronicles 14:12).

(The Power Of The Spirit In Your Words)

TO THE BIBLE: John 6:63 NIV
“The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.”

The excitement during our worship, praise, and thanksgiving would not produce life if the contents of the songs aren’t conveyed in words that are consistent with the New Testament of Christ.

No matter how loud the shouting is, without the Spirit, it’s an empty shout because the Spirit makes all the difference. When you speak the right words, the Spirit acts upon them.

(God’s Perfect Law Of Liberty)

TO THE BIBLE: James 1:25 NASB
“But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.”

Many have interpreted or considered what Apostle James said in the above verse religiously, thinking that the perfect law of liberty means “a law that makes men free.”

As Christians, no law was given to make us free. We were born free! When you were born again, you weren’t set free.

Someone might then ask, “Didn’t Jesus say, ‘And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free?”’ No, that verse (John 8:32) doesn’t say, “The truth shall set you free,” but that “the truth shall make you free.”

(Flood Your Eyes With God’s Light)

“The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.”

LET’S TALK
Some people may not know this, but every human being has two sets of eyes. The first is our physical eyes, with which we see and appreciate the world around us.

The other set is the spiritual eyes, which, incidentally, most never use, or don’t know how to use; they’ve never seen with their spiritual eyes. Such people only see things from a natural point of view. Only God’s Word can open your spiritual eyes.

He’s The Bread Of Life

LET’S TALK
When God gave the children of Israel manna from heaven, He told them they couldn’t depend on “yesterday’s manna” for today. He told them to get “today’s manna” today.

This is very significant, because Jesus said, “I am that bread of life” (John 6:48 KJV). So, Jesus was the manna they “ate” in the Old Testament, but they didn’t know it. He is the Word of God made flesh.

The Word of God is God’s food for the human spirit, and you need it every day. He also told us to meditate on the Word day and night.

“God is going to see me through; He’ll make a way for me where there’s no way,” Ralph repeated, with tears in his eyes, as a way to console himself after his wallet had been stolen. He wasn’t too sure of what to say and just mouthed off some words he’d heard some people say.

Stephanie, his sister, saw him sobbing and asked, “Why don’t you command that wallet to return to you in the Name of Jesus?” Ralph looked at Stephanie angrily and then continued to say, “God is going to see me through….”

Many are yet to understand the importance of the words “Please,” “Excuse me,” or “Thank you” in their communication with others. They’re of the erroneous belief that being polite equals character weakness, but that’s not true.

In 2 Thessalonians 3:1-2, the Apostle Paul asked for the saints to pray for him and other ministers with him that they may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men who were against the faith and the preaching of the Gospel: “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.”

He wanted the Word of God to grow mightily and prevail amongst the Gentiles; how we need to pray such prayers today!

When decrees or laws are enacted that are anti-Christian or against the preaching of the Gospel, we must be aware that such things are done by unreasonable and wicked men who have found their way into power for their own selfish ends.

The Holy Spirit living in you already gives you the advantage, for we read in our opening verse that “…you shall receive power (ability, efficiency (or effectiveness), and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you….” It’s very easy to become the best in whatever you do.

Firstly, be focused. Maintain a clear focus on the goal, target or task at hand. If it’s your assignment or a special project from school, whatever it is, have a clear focus.

LET’S TALK:

God’s Word tells us to be anxious for nothing; that means to have no anxiety about anything. Rather, in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, you should make your requests known to God.

The result of this is that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, shall garrison your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

The Bible is full of admonitions for us not to fear or fret. If we couldn’t stay without fear and anxiety, the Scriptures wouldn’t tell us not to fear or refuse anxiety.

God knows you could live without anxiety, panic attacks and fear; that’s why He said for you not to worry or be anxious. He only tells you to do what you have the capacity to do.

So in conquering fear and anxiety, you’ve got to have faith in God’s Word. Fear is actually faith in the ability of the adversary to hurt you; faith in the ability of all that is negative to stand against you and defeat you!

There’s Only One “Beautiful” You

Gail came back from school one day, went straight into her room, slammed the door and burst into tears. She felt so dejected because she had been teased by Sandra, a classmate, about her stature and looks.

She said, “You’re not even athletic enough to join the Cheerleaders!” The more Gail thought about Sandra’s words, the more she sobbed until her mum came into her room and calmed her down. “Darling, don’t measure yourself by how others rate you.

You’re beautiful and unique; there’s not a person like you in the whole world. The Holy Spirit in you will continue to beautify your life, and He’ll teach you how to develop any talent or skill you have or require,” she soothed.

Sometimes, there’s the temptation to feel discouraged when it seems others around you are making better progress. Recognise that such feelings are absolutely unnecessary. That someone else is succeeding doesn’t mean you’re failing.

One beautiful thing about the salvation we have in Christ is that we have absolute victory over the enemy and can serve God without fear.

We’ve been delivered from the powers of darkness and translated into the glorious Kingdom of God’s dear Son, who leads us in the paths of righteousness and in the triumphal excursions of life.

Thus in Christ, your life is a victory parade. It doesn’t matter who stands against you; it doesn’t matter what they say about you or against you; you have absolute victory in Christ.

Some young people think it’s cool to use bad words in addressing one another. They even go as far as learning these words just to use them against others. That’s wrong!

In very instructive and categorical terms, the Spirit of God, through the Apostle Paul, admonishes us not to engage in unwholesome or corrupt communication.

Rather, the words that proceed out of your lips should be words that’ll render healing to a broken heart, courage to the discouraged, and comfort to the afflicted.

The Bible lets us know that a perfect man is one who doesn’t offend in word (James 3:2). His words are consistent with God’s Word. When he speaks, his hearers are blessed, uplifted and edified. That’s because his words are seasoned with grace.

As God’s children on earth, we live in two worlds simultaneously—the natural world and the spiritual world. Many Christians understand the natural world and its operating principles, but they’re yet to understand the spirit world and how it works.

The Lord Jesus made it clear that though you’re in this natural world, you’re not of it; you were born into God’s realm when you were born again. You’ve got to be conscious of and learn how to function in this realm. It’s a realm of glory beyond time and space. It’s the realm of the miraculous.

“To the angel of the church of Ephesus…write…I know your works, your labor, your patience…Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. In our opening scripture, the Lord had praised the church in Ephesus for their works, labour, and patience. But then, He reprimanded them for forsaking their first love. You might ask, what was their first love?

Some time ago, I was in a program with several ministers from different countries. During the “Question and Answer” segment, many of them asked questions bordering various subjects, and I shared with them answers from the Scriptures.

I noticed, by the Spirit, that as we looked through the Scriptures for answers, the Spirit of God ministered in a very special way: several of them who came with heart conditions and other ailments suddenly realised they had been healed! There were healing miracles everywhere even though we didn’t particularly pray for the sick.
