Car Talk / Re: Honest Review Of This Toks 1999 Manual Tranny Honda Civic by ronkyzee1: 3:05pm On Oct 03, 2020
I hope my feedback is not late. I used a Honda Civic 2000 v tec and I can tell you you it is a good car. Though I got it brand new I used it for more than 10 years. Civic has different versions ie lxi, the lowest followed by existing and exi premium and then the v tec. You have not identified the version you are considering.
You will suprised to hear that I prefer Honda to Toyota. After the Civic I now use a Honda pilot which is another great car.

Politics / Re: How Azikwe Sold Nigeria To The Fulanis by ronkyzee1: 1:42pm On Jan 01, 2019
Interesting but those of us who had cause to study history realize first hand that his references are not authoritative. please instead of referring to newspaper reporters useore authoritative references which are available.
Incidentally Azikiwe is seen by Easterners as being pro the federation as against his colleagues with sectional interests. It
will interest you to note that the same Zik abandoned Ojukwu for the same patriotic inclinations.
Please research further and confirm the history of the first carpet crossing in Nigeria and the refusal of the likes of adeniran Ogunsanya to follow suit
There are prominent historians both foreign and Nigerian who have written extensively on the subjects.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Can Someone Please Explain The Issue Of Palestine/israel? by ronkyzee1: 3:38pm On Oct 06, 2011
The Arab Israeli Conflict evokes a lot of emotion particularly from Christians who feel inclined to support the Jews.
The facts are that historically the Jews inhabited the area but most of them migrated to Europe and America for greener pastures and prospered in the course of their sojourn. However the coming of the Nazis during the period of the world war 2 and the subsequent pogrom against the Jews led to the founding of the Zionist movement with the principal aim of resettling the Jews back to their homeland. The question arising therafter is where is Homeland
Palestine was then basically home to the Arabs.Britain that eventually tried to assist the Jewish resettlement even considered sending them to East Africa. The Jews through their determination and financial support from wealthy Jews arrived Palestine in numbers and were unable to reach an acceptable compromise with the Palestinian Occupants. That is the summary of a complex situation. The Jews have a historic claim but the Arabs are in possession and control. The way things are now both must learn to accept each others right as a way forward
Career / Re: Lawyers In The House. by ronkyzee1: 7:13pm On Nov 30, 2010
I am one of you with considerable experience in the area of corporate governance having been an inhouse counsel in a multinational corp for many years.
I read a post that the practice of intellectual property in the country is almost not in existence. This is not exactly so.Most of the global brands being sold in the markerts here are registered. However most of the firms who are into the practice operate a closed shop.same can be said of other ares like admiralty .
As is the case with MNCs they will not expose their intellectual property if their is no protection
Legal practice in Nigeria has come to the stage where specialisation is now required. However very little of that is going on .we have practitioners who are into everything including estate agency. This definitely is not the way foward
Agriculture / Re: Become Multimillionaire By Invest Your Money On Poultry Farming by ronkyzee1: 7:42pm On Oct 18, 2010
I happen to be in poultry business and like someone else had said it is a high risk area with no support from govt. The message did not specify what area of the business he was promoting. It could be broiler as that is what is shown in the picture or layers or feedmilling. In addition people should be told the truth that you cannot import either Parent stock or pullets or is referencebeing made to feed concentrates which must be mixed with local grains.
The point being made is that investors shuold be put into the right picture before they invest.
A propective farmer will spend a lot of money on land infrasucture which he will not recover in the first three years of operation
Politics / Re: Why Does The North Need To Leech When They Have All This? by ronkyzee1: 8:10pm On Sep 16, 2010
By mere Divine Providence the South South is the current President with an opportunity for a new term.Going foward what would get them there is common sense and polical savy which they appear lacking presently .This is definitely not the time for them to abuse other zones or remind them that they are suviving on their oil. This would be very childish in the present circumstaces. They have been used against their South East Cousins by the same Hausa Fulani group eg abandoned properties in Rivers after the Civil war which the yorubas were smart enough to avoid.
Unfotunately today things are a bit different and the SS must reach out and negotiate with other zones and not abuse them,
The south West does not have much oil but if this country breaks up they will be better than every other zone. The SS since they are not homogenous will be in a perilous situation.
The point being made is that they shoul reach out to other zones and negotiate with them. There are no sentiments where they fail to use available opportunities others can use same.
Health / Re: What Are The Major Problems With Primary Health Care In Nigeria? by ronkyzee1: 11:42am On Jul 01, 2010
It is always the standard practice to blame the elites when something goes wrong. In contributing to this topic I am going to do so in the context of an experience I had at the Igando general Hospital which is close to my house. We were excited when the Lagos State Govt came up with the project but I was constrained to go there only on sunday 20 june very early in the morning. My baby of one and half years old was vomitting and stooling and we were advised that it was a very delicate situation for a baby.At the hopital they were reluctant to attend to us they said it was a sunday and that only emergency cases would be attended to .Upon my insistence a registration card was issued but the one to be given to the doctor was witheld on the ground that this will only be released when the doctor gives a go ahead. In the middle of all these patients were subject to all kinds of abuses by the nurses and attendants.A recourse to a senior nurse on duty was equally fruitless. As this was going on an elderly man was brought in Kombi bus and he was unable to come out of the bus.He was in that bus for about 30 min before a female doctor came. Her attention was drawn to the man in the bus and her response was that she cannot enter the rain.An umbrella was provided and she looked into the bus and directed that the man must be brought out.this was done and the man was placed on one of the wooden benches where she barely examined him and left for her office.Next I saw the man being evacuated for help elsewhere.Thereafter I walked up to her and greeted her but she ignored me.I was incensed because I am a professional and the fact that I was in the hospital did not give any body cause to be uncivilised to me.I therefore entered her consulting room where she was chatting with some nurses and reststed that I had delicate problem on my hands and requested for help or some form of first aid.The doctors response was that she did night that it is the doctor who would resume later that would attend to us.It took me over one hour to get this response. There were a lot of people in that predicament and they were just waiting helplessly. We were force to rush the baby to a private hopital where she was admitted immediately and was discharged after 2 days.
On another occasion I had rushed an elderly diabetic woman who was about to enter coma on account of low blood sugar to the emergency unit of LASUTH Earlie in the year at about 2am.The nurses were fine but the doctor on duty was annoyed to have been roused from his sleep .Instead of attending to us he stated by saying that he cannot attend to the woman as he had no space in the hospital.I pleaded that he stabilised the woman till morning when we can take her to another hospital but he refused. It was only when I left the woman in his office and threatened that if anything happened to her that I would deal with him that made him come to our aid
This situation is common and unless the medical personell begin to learn the basics of customer service with the patients as their primary focus that change can come. There is need to weed all unsuitable personell otherwise the poor masses will continue to suffer.I intend to take up the Igando case with the State Commissioner for health
