Hello everyone, been a while. New production in the farm has been on me for some time and have pretty much forgotten this platform. But things are beginning to ease up now as we have new workers, so I should be available for mist of the time.

A lot of people have been calling me to ask some questions regarding oyster mushroom cultivation. Maybe we can do a question and answer series here for everyone to see. That should be able to answer some people's questions.

So....what are your questions regarding oyster mushroom cultivation?

This is great.
Please, share with us the cost of setting up the commercial scale
Excluding land, you should be looking at 800k-1mill. The major cost is in the building. But if you have empty rooms even if it is an uncompleted building, then half of that amount will do.

Oh now I understand but before it starts to fruit can one leave it for some days without checking the fruiting bags?

Yes. It will need to be left alone for about 2-4weeks to grow.

Wow you are really doing a good job.
I am also interested in cultivating mushrooms and honestly and I want to ask if you cultivate at a farm do you have to go there everyday.
I have a room at our farm house but not in the same location so it would entail travelling down.
Is mushroom something you can leave while they grow?
Thanks

Thing is that the mushroom produces everyday so you might need to be harvesting everyday or every 2 days. But this depends on the number of fruiting bags that you have.

Since the quantity needed is much why not have them produced and the cost factored into product sales

Thank you.
Any idea how much it will cist to produce them?
The issue with that might be the time that it will take to have them produce cos they are needed urgently.

What a load of nonsense. Tell me one place in the world that you know that has been inhabited peacefully forever. Lol. Fake ass prophecy.

Killing the occupants of a land was the norm then and it was considered okay in the bible. So what are you talking about?

And till today, the place is still a picture of ruins.

REALLY!!??
David was punished for for the adultery and murder

2Sam 12:10:
"Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife."
2Sam 12:12:
"Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbor, and
he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun."
"For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun."

2Sam 12:14:
"Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die."

Check out the punishment of Moses:
Num 20:12:
"And the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, Because you believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them."

Why did God ordered the destruction of the Canaanites?
Because of the abominable acts that has become their culture.

Deu 20:17-18:
"But you shall utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD your God has commanded you: That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done to their gods; so should you sin against the LORD your God."

I know there were consequences for their actions. I just wanted to correct the man's insinuation of the fact that the Bible wants to deceive people by showing only good characters. To let him know that the bible says it as it is and not cherrypicking.
Those men that God used also had their flaws and it was shown.

Stephenomozzy:
God lifts people from adversity... He doesn't USE adversity as a tool.

Adversities in life are a direct and indirect product of humanities constant greed, lies and thieving tendencies.

We must stop this thought-pattern that tends to push every event as the "will of God" without us taking responsibility or holding people responsible for what should be done that isn't done!

Hmm. What then can we say of Judges 3:1-2.
Religion / Re: Why Does God Use Adversity To Lift People Up? by RussellUba(m): 11:49am On Sep 13, 2020
Buliwyf:
Nonsense. That's like saying that your god is a masochist and even though he is omnipotent and can use other means, he revels in cruelty.

Only a moronic religion teaches that their god uses adversity to build people up. For every story of Joseph that you heard there are countless stories of people who didn't make it out of the adversity. There are also countless people who did the right thing in adversity and got no reward. There are many Josephs that could just as well have died in that prison that we never heard of their stories. Adversity my ass.

It's easy to say in hindsight that Joseph became a prime minister after adversity. But what if he had slept with the woman and still became the prime minister through her connections, would you still be saying all these stories?

Lastly, the last story I would trust is the story in the bible. Seeing as it is written by the supporters of the character being talked about. If Joseph had slept with the woman and went to the prison for it, they could just have written another story too to make it sound nice. That's how most stories in history are written.

The Bible was written to make the characters look nice right?
What will you say about David who killed a man and took his wife but was still king?

What about instructing the Israelites to kill the occupants of a land, or even Moses that got angry and refused to do as he was directed?

See, only a person who wants to deceive people will show his gentle side, but the few examples given here are not like that.

Secondly, talking about the stories in the Bible being the last thing that you will listen to, it is your will and choice. But remember this story. A man (Isaiah) lived hundreds of years before Christ. And he prophesied (that is if you believe in prophesy) that the city of Babylon will never being inhabited peacefully forever.
However Sadam Hussein tried to build a palace there; the US army also tried their luck. If you want to know the outcome of these trials against what was prophesied in an old book that you think is filled with fables, why not take a tour 50km from Bangladesh and visit that city.
Agriculture / Re: The Birth Of A Mushroom Farm by RussellUba(m): 12:25pm On Sep 07, 2020
For those asking, the cost of starting a project like this will depend on your location. Following my explanation from the first page, you can see that one of the major issue is to get spawn which are your seeds, a small work area, colonization room and a fruiting area where you will be doing your harvest.

However, your colonization room can also act as your fruiting room (that is what I do at the moment).
A 55ft * 25ft room can take approximately 10,000 of the substrate bags that I posted (I currently have about 2000).10,000 of those bags should be holding about 2tons of dry weight sawdust. This in my opinion is a moderate commercial farm.

Glad to see you're back. Weldone Sir
If I may ask, do you get an instant market for the produce weekly, or you dry and store them, while sourcing for customers?

I have customers that I supply to. Unfortunately lost one last week cos I could not meet up with what she wanted weekly. I have not even worked on advertisement as that would lead to huge orders that I will be unable to meet at the end of the day.

But from now to the end of next month, it will be all about expansion.

Been a while. Decided to revive this my thread.
It is tough trying to get a foothold in an industry that is still at its virgin state in the country, but by the time you get the hang of it, everything is price of cake.

While production is increasing for the ember period, this is what everyday harvest is like for now.
