[quote author=lily12 post=41612860]My dear Nairalanders,
I don tire for this situation.
I have read Nairaland posts for years as a guest. Every single post we see about marriage lately seems to be negative. I am not belittling the foolishness of cheating men when I say this: I am shocked that women can cheat so blatantly these days. I think it's tme to revive the hopes of those men who add two years to their marriage date when they see threads about disloyal "wives"... time to spare single women from the headache of being banded together with all these disloyal women, keeping them single even longer... let's restore the reputation of the institution of marriage as a blessing, a source of favour and a worthy calling that need not be delayed out of fear.
Please, ladies and gentlemen of Nairaland, there must be some happy marriages amongst us. If you have a good wife, please tell us why and how she is amazing. If you have a good husband, please share why and how he is amazing. If you have a good marriage, please take a moment to share your story here.
Let’s start 2016 on a positive note.
May the Lord restore the marriages of those who are currently facing crises, in Jesus’ Name.
Happy new yearMy secret of good marriage is my good wife.because she understand when I want her to understand. |

Politics / Re: Sanusi Erases Scheduled Leave, Dares Jonathan by Sadiss: 7:57pm On Jan 10, 2014 |
Mayor_of_Lagos: The controversy surrounding the planned exit of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Lamido Sanusi, deepened on Thursday with the governor insisting that he would not quit the post until his term expired on June 2, 2014.
In keeping with his vow, which analysts see as a direct confrontation with President Goodluck Jonathan, Sanusi has said he will not proceed on his terminal leave in March as initially being speculated. The President had reportedly asked the CBN governor to resign immediately because of the alleged deliberate leakage of the letter that Sanusi wrote to him in which the governor accused the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation of not remitting $49.8bn crude oil revenue to the Federation Account.Sanusi was said to have denied leaking the letter to former President Olusegun Obasanjo or anyone for that matter, and allegedly told the President that he could only be removed by two-thirds of members of the Senate as required by law.The governor reportedly told the President that the letter was available in the Presidential Villa, the Ministry of Finance and the CBN, and wondered how he could be accused of leaking it.
One of our correspondents learnt on Thursday that Sanusi expressed his determination to remain in office until the expiration of his one-term tenure of five years on June 2 during a meeting with top management officers of the bank on Wednesday. The Director, Corporate Communications Department, CBN, Mr. Ugochukwu Okoroafor, confirmed the development in a chat with one of our correspondents in Abuja on Thursday. He said the governor used the opportunity provided by the “family meeting” to clear doubts surrounding the expiration of his tenure.Okoroafor said, “The CBN is an important organisation in the economy of this country and we have to be careful in whatever we do because our actions send a strong message to the economy as a whole.“The governor had a meeting with officials of the central bank and it was like a family meeting; and in that meeting, he made it clear that he is not going anywhere until his tenure expires in June.“He is not proceeding on retirement leave by March as being speculated; rather, he will be retiring on June 2 this year when he will be completing his five-year single tenure.”According to Okoroafor, the CBN governor will formally announce his retirement in March, when his successor is expected to be named, and will remain in office until June 2.
Both chambers of the National Assembly declined comments on the alleged plan by the Federal Government to sack Sanusi. The spokesperson for the Senate, Eyinnaya Abaribe, and his counterpart in the House of Representatives, Mr. Zakari Mohammed, said the National Assembly would not be dragged into “a mere rumour.”Abaribe, in a telephone interview with one of our correspondents, said, “The Senate will not make any comment on any issue that is not before it. It remains a rumour until it is properly communicated to the Senate.”Mohammed also said, “I have no comment to make. The National Assembly as an institution will not be dragged into any controversy based on a mere allegation.”Efforts to get the Presidency’s reaction did not yield any positive result as the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Dr. Reuben Abati, did not respond to calls made to his mobile telephone line, nor respond to text messages sent to the same line.

LocalChamp: Mass defection to hit PDP again
December 22, 2013 by John Ameh, Success Nwogu and Leke Baiyewu
Barring any last-minute change in the unfolding schemes on the political scene, there is imminent mass defection of Peoples Democratic Party lawmakers in the House of Representatives to the opposition All Progressives Congress, SUNDAY PUNCH has learnt.
Intensive discussions are ongoing between members of the APC and members of the PDP in the House, it was learnt on Friday.
The effort by the opposition party to win over PDP lawmakers is in pursuit of APC’s determination to increase its numerical strength in the legislative chamber to 212.
The feat, if achieved, will put the party in a position to take over the leadership of the House.
Findings by SUNDAY PUNCH showed that about 40 more PDP lawmakers are considering the APC.
With the defection of 37 members of the ruling party to the APC last week, the opposition party currently has 172 members in the House, while the PDP has 171.
The forty lawmakers expected to join the APC in January include five members of the PDP from Adamawa State.
Adamawa State Governor, Mr. Murtala Nyako, was one of the five former PDP governors, who defected to the APC last month.
Curiously, PDP lawmakers from the state did not defect to the APC on Tuesday, when the 37 from Sokoto, Kano, Rivers and Bauchi states moved to the APC on the floor of the House.
“The reason they did not move on Tuesday was part of the strategy of the APC. If they had moved with their colleagues, the number would have been 42, instead of 37. Such a large number moving at the same time could have caused tension on the floor.
“It was part of the strategy that the defection should be done gradually. For the case of Adamawa, it is a done deal; they will move”, a source confided in SUNDAY PUNCH on Friday.
In addition to the five lawmakers from Adamawa State, it was gathered that 35 others from states whose governors did not move to the APC, were on standby.
“These members are with the PDP on the floor, but their hearts are with the APC”, the source who pleaded anonymity added.
One of our correspondents gathered that the major reason for the planned defection was to enable the lawmakers actualise their 2015 ambitions.
When contacted, the Minority Leader, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, confirmed the findings, saying , “More members are billed to join us in January.”
Although, he declined to mention any figure, he stated that there was “no longer any doubt that things will not remain the same by the end of January.”
Five aggrieved PDP governors of the rebellious G-7, had on November 26, 2013, announced their decision to merge with the APC.
The five governors were Muritala Nyako (Adamawa), Rabiu Kwakwanso (Kano), Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers) and Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto).
The governors, at the meeting they had with the leadership of the APC in Abuja, said their decision was aimed at rescuing the country.
