12-05-09 PSC Assures Cadets ABUJA - The Police Service Commission assured, yesterday, that the results of candidates, who were interviewed for positions of Cadet Inspectors and Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police since 2007, would soon be made known and call up letters issued to successful candidates. Permanent Secretary of the commission, Mrs. E. B. Emuren who made the disclosure yesterday, explained that part of the reasons for the delay in the issuance of call up letters for successful candidates, was that the Police Colleges where they are to be trained were in sorry states and were undergoing rehabilitation. Her words: 'the attention of the PSC has been drawn to several appeals for the release of the results of candidates who were interviewed for the positions of Cadet Inspectors and Cadet Assistant Superintendents of Police since 2007". "The Commission wishes to state that the conclusion of the recruitment exercise and the immediate commencement of training for the successful candidates was one of its resolutions at its inaugural meeting of May 23rd, 2008. "Regrettably, the Commission had to put the exercise on hold when it was found that the Police Academy where the Cadets are expected to undergo training is in a poor state of disrepair". "It is the policy of the commission to inject into the Nigeria police force, decent and well trained policemen which can only be produced in habitable and decent training institutions". "The ministry of Police Affairs in collaboration with the IGP is already working hard to put the Police Colleges in good shape to receive the new intakes. Work has since commenced on the repair of the facilities in the Academy". @ all, we'r not the 1st 2 b delay 4 this long. I think we should find a way of knowing d reason 4 this delay in one way or the other. What do u think? 1 Like |

FG to commence repairs of all police colleges Category: News Published on Tuesday, 02 July 2013 05:00 Written by Eugene Agha, Lagos Vice President Namadi Sambo yesterday said the Federal Government would soon commence the rehabilitation of all police colleges across the country. The Vice President, in company of the Chairman Senate Committee on Police Affairs, the Police Affairs Minister and the Inspector General of Police, was on an inspection tour of the Police College Ikeja. The Vice President stated that the move to rehabilitate all police colleges in the country is part of Federal Government drive to transform the force to an institution that would be better respected by its citizen. “I am quite impressed with the extent of work done by the Nigerian Army Engineers, they have transformed the police college ikeja on like what it was before the decay was exposed by channels television” he added. Vice President Sambo further stated that the Federal Government was indeed sincere with its transformation agender, adding that all sector of the economy would be touched. On his part, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar stated the force would for ever remain grateful to the Federal Government. “I was in this college many years ago and I know what it was, but I am happy that the place is wearing a new look” he said. Though, a mild drama letter ensued when the Vice President who had early on billed to commission the project went away without cutting the red tape. No reason was however given as the vice President drove away after he finished commending the Nigerian Army Engineer. Confused all the entourage left leaving the red tap still tired to the entrance to the dining hall. 1 Like |
