Glad you mentioned the word ‘experience’. Your PhD is useless without the requisite experience….so what you claim to know is mere theory! Wale Edun was Commissioner for Finance for Lagos State back in 1999….probably before you were even born. So, try demonstrate some measure of humility before you start blabbing! My problem with you guys is that you see every criticism as a threat, that guy made a great point. Listen, economic policies doesn't deal with sentiment, no body is saying that Wale policy is not OK, but should be accompanied with other good policy like import substitution strategy as he rightly said. Talking about when he was born, this is a faceless forum, an that man night even be older that Wale. 1 Like |

jumper524: What best way to do it if not through naira redisgn. But then again, it should be properly implemented, banks should be given time frames to improve their data base to avoid glitch in transfer or overwhelmed data base. Empower micro business users with POS like MONEI point and the rest, limit the daily cash withdrawal to 5k for all bvn users account. You can't transfer beyond 5k to any POS.
I remembered the naira redesign saga gave the Naira strength against the dollar, if only Emefiele considered the SWOT analysis before embarking. Infact in Abuja, the naira to dollar rate dropped to as low as 480 then. When these policy is implemented, unnecessary spending would be cut short and it'll improve the naira to dollar speculation.
Naira redesign is never a policy to reduce inflation, it is not a money supply policy. Emeifele maybe was drunk when he did that. This is simply when the CBN reduces it money (Cash) supplied to banks but not like the cashless policy time. That one was suicide. |
Politics / Re: Wale Edun: FG To Curb Rising Inflation With ‘Cut In Money Supply’ by Saintinoo(m): 10:56am On Aug 23, 2023 |
lincsnuel: This is exactly what Emefiele said. That's why he and Buhari implemented the policy that negatively impacted businesses and the citizens. Nigeria economy is not something you wake up and start implementing some random policy. You need to understudy it and understand the policy that will be optimal and bring positive outcome in not so long time and I quite agree with mrvitalis points.
Pump money into manufacturing and give them time then you'd start seeing the positive results. The cashless policy is not the same as this, cutting down money supply is OK, but while doing so, government must pump money to key sectors, especially the manufacturing sector. There are too many unnecessary bank notes in circulation, that should be cut down. |
Politics / Re: Wale Edun: FG To Curb Rising Inflation With ‘Cut In Money Supply’ by Saintinoo(m): 10:50am On Aug 23, 2023 |
mrvitalis: Like I said making a micro economist CBN governor and minister of finance is a tragedy waiting to happen
Buhari did same at least they were humble to accept they didn't know took time before taking decisions
Now we have a bad combination of arrogance and ignorant people as heads of our CBN and finance ministers
my solution Cutting money supply would harm the already struggling businesses ...so what to so
Pump money into key manufacturing sectors as low interest loans 10% max give them 8 months before Tenure starts
Make sure they are in this two areas 1) import substitution products 2) exportable products produced at below international market price
This would marke goods available to match money supply dragging down inflation creating jobs and increasing revenue for government
Note when I mean pump in money I don't mean 50billion 😂😂
I mean 5 trillion minimum You are right about pumping money to key sectors, especially manufacturing sector through import substitution, that is what Nigeria need right now to control inflation and reduce pressure on the dollar so as naira can regain value.. But still, CBN needs to cut money supply and only make funds available for key sectors. Cutting down money supply general will bit hard, but within six month, if CBN supplies money to those sectors, it will balance everything. I think Wale Edun is on the right track on this, just that I wish they will at least bring up an import substitution strategy, that will be the best. But Tinubu will not, he only care about himself. |

Emmanuel555: Hello Everyone! I applied for an internship job as an Optometrist in one of the reputable hospitals in Bauchi, I summoned the courage to go for the interview last month when they called, it was my first time going to Bauchi although I have been to Kaduna in 2012, so I already knew that it was going to be a long distant journey going from the eastern region. I went through Onitsha and it was about 15 hours journey both going and coming back. The interview was successful and today I was called to resume work next week.
I really love the atmosphere there since it's in Bauchi capital and I spent only 3 days. But I'm much concerned about the security challenges, language barrier, religious view (I'm a Christian), foods and cost of living. Please what are the precautions I need to take in order to work and survive there in a period of one year? Are there things I should know before going and are there other challenges I'm likely to encounter.
NB: I also applied in different hospitals especially in Eastern region but non has called me so far. Thanks.
[ Admin please move to front page, I need opinions. First of all congratulations. Can you tell us the name of this reputable hospital in Bauchi? Is it private? Well back to your question, Bauchi is one of the most safest states in the North, very cheap, I mean very cheap, you only spend not more than 6k highest on TP to work. About places you can stay, it depends on where you hospital is located, most big private hospitals Bauchi are situated in GRA. You can stay in places like, Awala roundabout, Gidan mai, opposite barracks or Yelwa, close to the University and polytechnic. Bauchi state is a Hausa speaking states, although there are a lot of Igbo's at Tudun Wada Dan iya popularly called Bayan gari. But bro, Bayan gari don cast, ashawo and cultist full am now, police raid that place every day. Generally, you will enjoy Bauchi state, cheap, very cheap. Least I forget, you can get a decent one bed room and parlour for 80 to 100k, depending on location. 1 Like |

That is more reason why I don't fancy a date with a Nigerian girl, every date must be in a restaurant with table filled up. They only accept the date because they are actually hungry.
I don't rate Nigeria girls anymore, go on social media and see how they now advertise themselves.
Belle first! That's why almost every date must be in a restaurant or fast food joint.

Today, I have decided to asked questions and hope I will get some good answers from people here.
1. Pls, how do one get into a federal institution of learning without the necessary m.sc cert. 2. What is the faith of someone without any G, not even 1G in getting these govt agency jobs. 3. How and what are the criteria of getting an NGO job in Nigeria.

Then you are left with N70k. Transport never enter, house rent, etc. The only option is to retire to the village Why should you buy fuel of 65k for your gen when you are not using the gen for business. Do you think it matters when your minimum balance on expense account is 2million? Work hard and make money, it has a way of stopping some unnecessary quibbles. How do you get to know the person without going on a date. This is potentially someone I plan to spend the rest of my life with, of course I’ll go on a date and see if we are compatible. Does she attempt to pay , bring along her wallet . How does she eat ? Is she loud , quiet . Does she laugh at my jokes ? Does she tell jokes ? Does she pray before eating , does she eat with her mouth open. ? Does she talk with food in her mouth ? Does she smell nice ? What does she order ?
I went out with a lady to a restaurant and when the menu was brought , she ordered an expensive meal , pop and 4 pieces of meat. That was the beginning of the end. What concluded was on our way back we took an Uber was having issue with transfer . I had cash but asked her to pay the cab driver N3000. She said she had no money . So I quibbled if I didn’t pay for dinner how would she pay , she just laughed . I just pecked her on the cheek and told her cab man to drop her off at home. She’s wasn’t serious 🧐
I went out with someone else. I ordered first - she said she would have want I was having . She wasn’t loud. Did everything lady like. When the bill came she said 2 bills please . I almost kissed her then and there . I told her no that I am still old fashioned. And I paid. Guess what she paid the cab fare home. We had an amazing 3 days affair . Going on a date with a woman just to know her kind of person is the worst decision a man can ever make, you think a woman will bring her true self to a date? Though, I just don't see reason to spend unnecessarily on a woman. 53 Likes 1 Share |

The lowest performing currency in Africa is Ghanaian Cedis. Do your research before talking any how. Inflation in Ghana is worse than Nigeria. Many traders in Ghana only accept dollars for payment of goods and services. The redenomination in Ghana makes everything worse there. I followed the implementation of that policy by Ghana, at that time the Ghana cedi was far better than Nigeria naira, it worked for Ghana, just that, there was no follow up to strengthen the economy. Ghana economic problem was not as a result of that policy. Nigeria needs an inflation targeting policy, inflation targeting is aimed at setting a particular inflation rate for the economy and work with that, this will check continues increase in prices in the economy. What this policy is saying is that some higher denominations will have to go, this will help fight inflation, but like I said, it is not the ultimate solution. |

I don't know if it is a problem with me, but, I find it absurd, time and resource wasting to go days asking a lady out, buy things to impress her, call her every morning and send gifts just to have a woman around me.
I have had some few girlfriend in the past and even my last ex, I only asked her out once and wait for her to make up her mind, never spent a dime on dates or gifts.

kayus621: It was during my national youth service year in Akwa Ibom State when our paths first crossed. We were both posted to ukanafun as National Youth Service Corp(NYSC) members, and little did I know that this would be the beginning of a beautiful journey.
From the moment we met, I was captivated by her warm presence. She had a way of making me feel at ease, and her infectious laughter filled the room. She had a nickname for me, "Kayo," which she said in a playful and sexy way. It quickly caught on, and soon, my fellow colleagues started calling me by that name too.
As we got to know each other, our connection deepened. We discovered shared interests, passions, and dreams. But one of our most cherished moments was when we started coming out at night to talk about our lives under the moonlight. It became our sacred time, where we could share our deepest thoughts, dreams, and fears.
We had made it a tradition to come out at night and share our lives with each other, reminiscing about our past, our secondary school experiences, and our university lives.
But one thing that always stood out for me was when she spoke about her former job as a receptionist. There was something enchanting about the way she told her stories, especially when it happened under the moonlight. It was as if the moon itself was lending an ear, illuminating her words and giving them a magical touch.
I would listen intently as she painted vivid pictures with her words, describing the challenges she faced and the interesting people she encountered. She had a way of making even the simplest of tasks sound fascinating and captivating. And as she spoke, I could feel myself being transported into her world, experiencing every moment alongside her.
It was during these nights that I truly got to know her on a deeper level, understanding the experiences that had shaped her into the person she was today.
Sometimes, we would sit in silence, just basking in each other's presence, the moonlight creating a serene ambiance around us.
But it wasn't always smooth sailing. Like any close relationship, we had our fair share of misunderstandings. However, what set us apart was our commitment to resolving those misunderstandings under the moonlight.
When disagreements arose, we would find ourselves back in our special spot, away from the distractions of the world. There, under the moonlight, we would open up to each other, expressing our thoughts and feelings with honesty and vulnerability.
We were willing to confront our differences head-on, to listen and understand each other's perspectives. Under the moonlight, we would apologize, forgive, and embrace each other's flaws. It was in those moments of vulnerability that our bond grew even stronger. We learned to appreciate the beauty of compromise and the power of understanding.
Looking back on those nights, I realize that our misunderstandings were not obstacles but opportunities for growth. They allowed us to learn more about ourselves and each other, deepening our connection in ways we never thought possible.
As the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, our bond grew stronger. We became each other's confidants, supporting one another through the ups and downs of our service year. Whether it was navigating the challenges of our assigned tasks or finding solace in the unfamiliar surroundings, we were there for each other every step of the way.
Looking back, I realize that meeting her during my youth service year was no coincidence. It was a serendipitous moment that brought us together, shaping the course of our lives in ways we couldn't have imagined.
Today is her birthday so I created a website specially to wish her a happy birthday, there you will find our memories together, please help me wish her a happy birthday. Check my signature for the website link, you can drop your wishes for her on the site, through her whatsapp or Facebook. God bless you as you help make her birthday a memorable one🙏

This is a nice policy, especially having an inflation targeting, Ghana did same and it worked for them. Nigeria only had a monetary policy targeting. But the most important thing is to have an import substitution strategy that will see us stop importing much (especially petrol), so as the naira will stop chasing the dollar. |

Deenillah: I'll just go straight to it.
My girlfriend of 2years gets upset when I don't apologize even when I'm not at fault. , saying I don't care about her feelings.
I'm this person who believes that everyone is responsible for their actions and should shoulder the consequences for thier actions.
I don't apologize except when I know I'm wrong and I try as much as possible to avoid things that will make me apologize unnecessarily except of course for the ones that happen coincidentally.
But she wants it to be that at every little instance, I apologize even if she's at fault which to me I find unacceptable and this causes quarrels between us when it happens.
MY QUESTION IS
Am I wrong to want to apologize ONLY when I'm at fault? You are dating a narcissist, run. I am speaking from experience. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Middleborn: This is the situation.
Nigeria is poised to start the supply of Gas to Europe, who will pay billions in $$$ for this favour. Russia, who just cut off their Gas supply to Europe would do everything to thwat Europe's plan to get Gas from Nigeria by gaining control over countries along the path of the Gas pipeline from Warri Nigeria, supplying Europe. Niger is the perfect country for Russia to distabilize in order to jeopardize the Gas project.
For Russia, its pay back. For Nato, its survival. Winter is coming and Europe will need Nigerian Gas to power their heat systems. For Tinubu, its about making billions from the Gas deal, anything that would stand in the way of this deal, Tinubu will destroy. All of these will come at the expense of the lives and properties in Northern Nigeria. So expect a war in the scale of the Russia and Ukraine war in that region. if the war starts and is sustained for months, don't be suprised if the Gas terminal at Warri is bombed by Russian Drones. When this war begins, it will be difficult to stop....Now is the time to stop it by all means. But my thought is that the powers behind Tinubu are so strong, he cannot call the shots, he cannot stop the war even if he wants to. Europe will freeze to death during the winter if they don't get the Gas from Nigeria. When lives in Europe are threatened, NATO will flex its muscles...i just hope Nukes will not be deployed...God abeg na your hand we dey. Bro not only Northern Nigeria, if the North can not go to farm because of war, the South will die of hunger too. Every reasonable person must condemn this war. 1 Like |
