Losers? No kid, Igbo's will only wail and cry when we lose our investments, even at that, we will stand and grow another investment, we don't cry because of hunger.

So who is the loser now? People shouting Ebin pawa ooo?

Just witnessing this right now... All because of cheap rice that's not even enough to go round 😒

It is believed that people queuing to buy the N10k rice got frustrated when the queue was too much and some of them pulled down the gate of the Nigerian customs. Still, I don't believe this justifies tear-gassing people, some of which were nursing mothers who came with their infants.

Two people have allegedly lost their lives as per news circulating around the customs office.

Hahahaha,I can't stop laughing, just imagine what these people have turned the country to, Nigeria is now a fucking laughing stock.

I wish the average Nigerian can't afford the basic necessities of life, by then when they step out, they will step out and do something that's right and beneficial to them and everybody, but for now let's keep playing the " my brother" game.

That's what you think, but they will not, they will rather break into hardworking peoples shop to loot, forgetting about the people they voted for, just like they did In Osun during endsars.

Each time there's a tribal clash in any part of Lagos especially the markets, it's always between Yorubas and Hausas. I have never read that Igbos and their hosts clashed but each time, the Igbos are painted as the troublesome hosts that don't regard their hosts.

The Igbo's are attacking their hosts by building mansions and owning businesses worth billions when there host hardly eat two square meal.

GDP growth is the increase in investment and production in the economy over the time, in the past 6 mo months, companies have been making lose and shutting down, most companies are not producing to capacity again, and every sector of the economy is affected, so how did the GDP grow up to 11% for God sake.
Politics / Re: 12 Members Of The CBN’s Monetary Policy Committee (Full List) by Saintinoo(m): 7:23pm On Feb 22
The CBN monetary policy committee, is the most powerful organ of the CBN. Normally it should have not just professors but professors of monetary economics as members.

Looking at these names and picture, I see not too competent people there, more of a political appointment and I ask, why won't dollar reach 2k.

I stopped worrying about Nigeria, because the country itself is finished.

So, you think the black market is normal and a good thing. grin Perhaps you benefit from them. You see those people benefiting there won't want them eradicated. Those people are the enemies. Many are even there thinking it is normal business. Nope. It is not. The government of Nigeria is just useless.

Instead of finding reasons black markets should be retained, look at the bolded part in your post. I expect you to face the government to solve that bolded part.

What is the earning capacity of an average Northerner compared to an average Southerner?!!

There are 3 main reasons those people don't Japa like Southerners:

1. Less education and exposure.
2. Religious Extremism and mental slavery
3. Poverty

Economists from hell! The bolded part got me. What kind of transaction you cannot do with banks that only BDC can do? Can you read what the so-called lecturers demanding high pay are saying? grin Mehn!

I believe this lecturer is talking about money laundering. Tell me one BDC that has a bigger capital base than the smallest microfinance banks we have in Nigeria that I need BDC where banks are not capable of handling. Na wa ooo!

Can you see why Nigeria will not get out of this easily? These are the set that will wage war oooo.

Please, if you know the kind of transaction that is justified here, let me know. Cos I am really curious to know what he is talking about.

Why do you buy fuel from black markets sometimes, why don't you patronise the fuel stations at all time, if you answer this question then you already know where the lecturer is coming from but choose to hide the truth, the BDC operators just like large food merchants are existing because of the externalities caused by government created market failures.

Tinubu has really disgrace the self acclaimed sophisticators. Tinubu is the most intelligent and smartest Yoruba man hence the Yoruba presented him to stand election. If Tinubu is the best Yorubas can produce and the most educated Yoruba man, I can only shake my head, because it's now glaring that we were deceived long time ago and we believed that Yoruba tribe is the most educated tribe in Nigeria. That was a huge fallacy.

That man Tinubu is a complete dummy, zero sense in governance.

They Yoruba tribe might be the most paper educated tribe in Nigeria but the most ignorant. The 2023 elections cemented everything. It really showed that their education is really a waste.

It is highly likely that the economy is being sabotage.

My question is who is responsible for this?

Is it possible that the current management of the CBN are still busy printing naira? If yes is city boy aware of this or is city boy printing his own share of the naira and converting it to dollars for further laundry?

Or are the owners of Nigeria behind this with the intention to build good reason to force city boy out of power and return power to the "born to rule"?

At this point it is either that president do not have a clue on what is happening or that he is aware of the situation but unable to do anything about it.

This is very scaring we are in deep shit we might hit Zimbabwe level of inflation and this will pose a huge threat to national unity.

Nobody is sabotaging the economy, was it the saboteur that asked him to float the exchange market and remove subsidy on fuel, education and planned removal of subsidy on electricity?

Economic policies are not things you do in a haste, and without strategy, just as the way a patient die at any mistake a surgeon does is the same way the economy collapse at any policy mistake.

You really think everyone on the internet isn't learned about what they say.

There are more than enough warehouses in Mutum Biyu up to Kopi holding hoarded goods. I say it with all certainty.

With all the google map you use, you can't count up to 100 large house of the seize of warehouse in Mutum biyu, I am in Jalingo presently and Jalingo to Mutun biyu is just 1500 naira, come and show me 100 warehouse in Mutun biyu or even Iwarw or Graba chide.

Most of the so called warehouse you are talking about are in Jalingo and Ardo Kola, most trucks you sew carrying grains from Taraba take it to Kano, Sokoto and Katsina.

There is demand for maize outside the boarders for a private product not Petroleum that have government subsidy o.
Nigerians should come to the rescue of this government, they are confused

And there supporter will blindly agree with everything they did, very confused government I tell you. They have asked chicken feeds processing companies to suspend buying of maize so price of maize can come down for now, not knowing that the price of meat and fish will go up soon.

Talk about people who know nothing about governance.

Why don't they go and plant the maize, harvest it and sell it in those countries?

Ur question funny O.

I ask again, did they steal the maize? They bought it with their money, went to sell it to another buyer, did they steal the maize?

Worry about your government incompetency, because this is what any serious government does, government buys from farmers during harvest and store, so that merchants do not see any food to hoard, you don't seize or stop trade directly like this. The damage have already been made and these people will find ways to still sell their maize outside Nigeria.

Is it not the same Taraba where hundreds of warehouses are locked up, hoarding various food items? Is that blame also in the government?

Let them introduce whistleblower policy and see how things turn around.

Which warehouse in Taraba did you see hundreds of warehouse locked up with grains? You are mistaken Kano with Taraba, and hoarding of food though being an economic crime, should be blamed on the government for allowing merchants do the hoarding, if our government are really serious with governance, merchants will not see food to hoard because government would have bought it all.
Food / Re: Food Prices Drop In Kano, Taraba, Kwara, Niger by Saintinoo(m): 8:58am On Feb 20
This drop in price of Maize and soybeans is as a result of temporary suspension of purchase by companies. This was the agreement with the government, soon the prices will still go up.

In all this price of rice keeps going up. In case you doubt me, I am in Taraba and the price of rice is out of this world.

No 3rd world country or developing country can float it currency with pounds, euro and USD and survive it.

Not even the Russia rubbles or any asian country for that matter.

The USD is the world favorite currency it has a value and appreciate even if they don’t export anything from the US.

When he was making noise about floating the naira, i heavily criticized the decision but some APC supporters who know nothing about economics defended him.

You can't float a currency against the dollar when you run a mono economy. It is very simple, your currency will fight with the dollar at the international market, and will only gain value if you do not seek much of dollar, imagine using dollar to import fuel, which almost every sector of the economy use, that indicates that more dollar will be sort, nor to talk of other household items we buy with dollar.

Tinubu is paying subsidy bigger than previous administration even when Nigerians are buying the same fuel 4 times the previous price.

Yes, Lagos consume more electricity than any other state in Nigeria, consumption is more important than availability in terms of industry, if you are talking about startup yes there more opportunities in less developed areas. Just moribund infrastructures like Ajeokuta steel

Take the seaport out of Lagos, our rather, let other states have seaports and you will see how manufacturing companies will troop out of Lagos.

Data has it that must multinationals in FCMG are abandoning Lagos for Kano, because of the ease of doing business in Kano compared to Lagos.

That stats is flawed if business don’t lie, if they have such infrastructure with no other set back investors will be grouping there, you want to tell me landlocked states lacking cargo facilities is more developed than let’s say Lagos. Unless the meaning of infrastructure is changing. All the infrastructure in those states isn’t even equal to port infrastructure in Lagos alone

Do you even read at all?

In my post, I made mention of Lagos, if not for the port in Lagos where raw materials come in most box these companies will prefer going to these States to so business, and I highlighted the reasons in my comment.

Do you think Lagos has more electricity than Bauchi or Kebbi? Don't you know that producers first choice of infrastructure is electricity?
