Tell your friend the girl is waiting for 2 years to pass so she can get her permanent stay and then divorce him.if she stays past 2 years, she will only get more in terms of stay and and half of his money.
It has happened to many people.
A word is enough for the wise!
Forget that love and forgiveness shit where "papers" are involved.
Culture / Re: Which Nigerian Language Is The Easiest To Learn? by samsilo(m): 12:19am On Sep 07, 2007
I think without contest Hausa is the easiest Nigerian language and one that has words for most things other languages do not.
My Language Efik is one of the harder ones to learn.People should stop claiming their language is the easiest because they speak it
Nairaland / General / Re: Are you an Ajepako or Ajebota? by samsilo(m): 12:11am On Sep 07, 2007
Full ajebota grin, our neighbors used to call us that when I was growing up.
But unlike some, I am striving to achieve more than my parents
Culture / Re: Terrible State Of The English Language In Nigeria by samsilo(m): 12:00am On Sep 07, 2007
@redsun
I put to you and all those defending poor English spoken and written by educated Nigerians. This is a reflection of poor self discipline and mental laziness, as debosky pointed out if one lacks the will to speak a language properly, I wonder where the will to carry out more demanding tasks will come from.
If I go to my village and start speaking my language in a garbled fashion at a town meeting ,I assure you they will not congratulate me for a job well done.
It is not a matter of colonial mentality etc,any language you speak whether its Hindi, speak it correctly
Politics / Re: Supreme Thief Alams Gets An Overwhelming Welcome From His People by samsilo(m): 2:13am On Sep 06, 2007
The level of ignorance and stupidity displayed here by some people and replicated by many Nigerians is the sort of thing that made me decide years ago that there is very little hope for this country.
There are occasional signs of progress but in the most part our country is covered in and over shadowed by darkness bred by ignorance ,ethnic bigotry and wicked minded ,greedy and non productive elite.
Because of this I checked out and my only concern are my immediate family who I am struggling to set free from this madness
Romance / Re: Guys, Can You Marry A Circumcised Lady? by samsilo(m): 12:22am On Aug 29, 2007
Female genital mutilation is a sad thing cry.
Can you imagine in 2007 in London a woman who came from Nigeria suggesting to my wife she circumcise our newborn daughter angry.
I had to restrain myself from throwing her from my house, she claimed it made a woman"sweeter".The level of ignorance by some so called educated Nigerians is amazing .
@topic if I was not married i won't lie I would find it hard to marry a mutilated woman and for those asking how you know you had better try to improve your sexual knowledge if you still do not know by sight and feel a woman's privates wink
Romance / Re: Is She Justified? by samsilo(m): 12:36am On Aug 08, 2007
I think she is not justified ,but the guy should forgive her if its the first time.
Anyone should know that women and alcohol do not go together, they have a smaller frame and tend to get drunk faster.I have seen enough of what alcohol does to women in this country where getting drunk is not seen as something to be ashamed of.You can be minding your business and dancing with a woman who is high and she starts snogging(kissing)you.
If you follow this up ,you could find yourself accused of assault or rape the following morningwhen the alcohol clears.
Family / Re: Your Husband in The Labor Room During Childbirth? by samsilo(m): 11:53pm On Aug 06, 2007
In the UK almost 100% women have what is called birthing partners, usually the father of the baby or a close friend or relation. The idea being that the process is too traumatic to go through surrounded by strangers only.
For most people it would be strange if the father refused to be there unless he had absconded(absent father).
The partner usually attend ante natal classes a couple of times to be counselled and know what to expect
Family / Re: Your Husband in The Labor Room During Childbirth? by samsilo(m): 11:26pm On Aug 06, 2007
I was right there for my baby girls birth.
I know for a lot of old fashioned Nigerian guys it would find it tough to handle.
Politics / Re: Why would obong of calabar try to stop the eze ndi igbo of calabar by samsilo(m): 3:00pm On Jul 29, 2007
@ Kanto,

I will not resort to some of the gutter language being used on this forum. If your comprehension of English is sound ,I suggest you read my post on this thread again.
You will find I never made any personal opinions but only gave a commentry on what people in so called south south feel about these things.
I am not a hypocrite ,so I am never scared of telling the truth no matter how unpleasant.
The feeling I tried to illustrate is known or unknown to you shared by many tribes ,i.e suspicion of their motives and the belief that if you give them an in ,they tend to try to take a mile.
Politics / Re: Is The Average Nigerian Fraudulent? by samsilo(m): 6:10pm On Jul 15, 2007
@ gbade.x those average Nigerians ,farmer ,okada rider, taxi driver, carpenter, brick layer etc work very hard but more than 50% of them will rip you off at the slightest opportunity.

I keep saying Nigerians are too sensitive to the word fraud, it does not mean only 419 or yahoo yahoo. If you be fast guy or smart guy or you will take advantage of some ones ignorance in any way then you are fruadulent.

@ThoniaSlim that girl that was forming and closed her account because her dad sent £6000 and it was being questioned ,how much is the dad's salary. While some go form many people can boldly tell you thier parents got rich through stealing govt money.
Do you think Babangida's Tafa or Alami's kids will ever agree thier parents stole while in office angry
Politics / Re: Is The Average Nigerian Fraudulent? by samsilo(m): 10:51am On Jul 13, 2007
@MILITIA
I am not beating about the bush,I am Nigerian and addressing fellow Nigerians. My points in simple English.
   1. Do not get too defensive or abuse people because you are sensitive to the word fraud being used here .

2. Look at the definition of fraud as I quoted.

3.Fraud is perpertrated world wide but most Nigerians have a very low threshold for being dishonest( if you deny this you are being dishonest and a hypocrite)
Romance / Re: Dignity Or Virginity by samsilo(m): 12:55am On Jul 13, 2007
A lot of men trip and dream about the idea of owning a woman completely.
They think if they are the first to have sex with a woman it makes them special and they hope especially if they married the virgin to be the only one to do this for ever after.
Unfortunately the facts of life are sadly not often what you dream of. That virgin today will may perform wonders later.

I know a married woman who got married as a virgin, as I said in my earlier post out of fear of some traditional curse in thier area at the age of 17. She was bold enough to tell me she was giving one guy( not her husband) hand jobs regularly because she was still afraid of this their village curse, this time  fear of adultery.

I wonder how long that fear will last before she goes the full monty because she told me she likes the guy.(Poor husband)

Virginity has absolutely nothing to do with dignity
Politics / Re: Is The Average Nigerian Fraudulent? by samsilo(m): 12:30am On Jul 13, 2007
Fraud is a strong word that makes many of us go on the defensive because it brings to mind419,yahoo boys etc.
If you look at this definition quoted  below and are honest you will find most people you know do theses things.

fraud      /frɔd/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[frawd] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun 1. deceit, trickery, sharp practice, or breach of confidence, perpetrated for profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage.   2. a particular instance of such deceit or trickery: mail fraud; election frauds.
3. any deception, trickery, or humbug: That diet book is a fraud and a waste of time.
4. a person who makes deceitful pretenses; sham; poseur.

It is not limited to Nigerians but lets be honest, how much do you need to push an average Nigerian before he starts falsifying his date of birth, state of origin etc compared to people of other Nationalities
Romance / Re: Dignity Or Virginity by samsilo(m): 12:40am On Jul 09, 2007
I honestly wonder in todays world what it means to be an adult (above 16) and a virgin other than the fact that you do no know some things which others do.
I can sympathise with religious people and those living in Naija when they go on about virginity.
Where I live if you are a 20 year old virgin ,male or female ,its more like a handicap. I also think it has nothing at all to do with dignity of the person.
A girl may be a virgin because in her culture she will be seen as "loose" if she is not before marriage,It is fear that is responsible for that.
In cultures where sex between adults is not seen as a sin,or bad and where women are regarded as equals to men ,this virgin matter falls flat on its face.
Travel / Re: Nigerians In The UK Are So Stingy by samsilo(m): 9:26am On Jul 04, 2007
@Dakmanzero,
things may be tough abroad but if you consider that these things are taken for granted here and are worth more than money to some people like myself.

1. Security- no harrasment from armed robbers ,area boys and police.nobody in Nigeria is immune from this no matter how rich.

2.Stability .you can plan your life 5-10 years ahead and be sure prices won't double overnight or things change drastically. From government to government there is continuity in policy

3. Personal comfort, for most people abroad no matter how poor things like good clothes a clean car , personal entertainment systems i.e DVDs, Plasma screen TV,mobile phones etc are not things you worry about before buying. These are stuff even the guy in one room can afford.

4. No PHCN so no need to stress about hand washing, ironing etc

 5. You get your dues without hustling,What effort you put in is what you get out.No need to know any body or bribe any body, thats why the man on the street who is a cleaner can tell the prime minister to F**K off because he owes you nothing as far as he is working.I used to work for the federal govt. in Naija, they paid us when they felt like it.Here on the 23at 8.00pm every month my pay is in the bank

Bottom line ,you can live your life with dignity and not go begging people for favours which even Governors and senators in Naija do all the time,(begging for posts)
