Family / Re: Problem With My Wife, Mother, And Mother Inlaw. by Santinho: 3:00pm On Feb 20, 2023 |
I hardly quote people on nairaland but your submission drew my attention. Nice input 👍 frozen70:
I think you and your wife will have to discuss on how best to reconcile your mum, with her mum and her too
All these drama is falling on you because you have to love them all equally
When your wife agrees to the reconciliation, invite your mum a day and invite your mother in law the next day
Seat the three of them down and let them know that you love them all and you want them to show love and respect to themselves if they all truly wants your happiness as you too wants their happiness
When you are done talking, let your wife move close to your mum and hug her and tell her that she loves her and wants her to see her as her daughter
That, if she has does anything wrong that she should say it so that she will apologize Am sure your mum have no good reason to what made her hate her, your mum will embraze her as a daughter and the will reconcile
Then you guys will leave the seating room and ask the two mothers to reconcile themselves
By the time you come back, they will make peace with themselves and unity and love will reign in the mist of three of them
From there, they will be communicating steady with each other on phone
Then your wife will make it a point of duty to show love to your mum and always visit her and spend time with her so that they can bond well
Your wife doesn't need to argue or challenge your mum because she is her mother in law, your mum is getting old and she has the tendencies of having a feeling that your wife is talking you away from her, you are the only thing that makes her happy and gives her reason to be happy so just see it that way
Your wife needs to understand that, you are the only person your mum have and she should rather draw herself closer to mum than thinking of taking you a distance from mum
Your mother in law is just there to protect the interest of her daughter and nothing else
Both women should be communicating with themselves steadly and visit each other if possible to create a good bonding
Lastly, you are trying to provide for them as you have stated Just keep it up its not easy as all of them wants your attention and care |

When you guys attributes the so called transformation of Lagos to Tinubu I begin to wonder. Does that mean Lateef Jakande, Buba, Fashola, Ambode and now Sanwolu didn't do anything at all? Tinubu has been out of Lagos State Government as a Governor for decades yet you guys keep attributing the success of Lagos to Tinubu. I honestly feel for those men because they just can't speak up knowing fully well that their glory is been given to Tinubu. seunmsg: Good. This is the way to go. They should do the right thing by fully supporting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the only brilliant and experienced candidate with verifiable record of public service achievements and pro-democracy credentials.
Tinubu will change Nigeria exactly the way he turned Lagos to the fifth largest economy in Africa. He’s the only candidate with a nationalistic appeal and the vision of enduring shared prosperity for all Nigerians. He’s the sensible candidate for all sensible Nigerians. 1 Like 1 Share |

seunmsg: The is a silly interpretation that cannot withstand any legal scrutiny. Peter Obi is the candidate of Labour Party and both cannot be legally separated for the purpose of the election. Political parties are made up of people and as such, the law is applicable to all members of the party. Diaspora donation to Peter Obi is the same as diaspora donation to Labour Party. Obi better be properly guided before mischievous lawyers put him in trouble. Seunmsg stop disguising. Did Buhari and APC not do the same thing 2015? They don't like him be they are lazy, weak and overrated players who are not ambitious like Ronaldo. Most of the players don't play for the barge. They only care about the money. Their performance speak volume. Imagine someone like Maguire being Man UTD captain despite his abysmal performance, yet the British media don't say Jack. They almost roast Paul Pogba when he dropped form, but can't criticize Bruno Fernandes. Everything is wrong with Manchester United and the absence of Ronaldo wouldn't change untill there's a total overall from Top to Bottom of the Club. True fans and Football Lovers know this. 1 Like

Fans shouldn't expect any significant silverware for a year or two. What they should expect is a clear out of the dead wood, and a focus on the development of players and a team mentality and way of playing. If progress is measured and achieved on these things, then he has a good chance. Otherwise, it will be rinse and repeat of the last few years.
Man UTD need a management that's passionate about football and understands the system and should also pay less or no attention to those retired turned pundits like Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville and co. 1 Like 1 Share |

Politics / Re: Nnamdi Kanu’s British Passport Is In Kenya - The Guardian UK by Santinho: 8:00pm On Jul 10, 2021 |
Most people here make comments based on ethno and religious sentiments. It's so shameful that we as people, forget so easily the dreams and hope we had in Nigeria while growing up and the reality of what we're seeing and what lies ahead with the operational system practiced in the country.
Turning a blind eye to the reason behind the actions of people like Fela Kuti, Gani Fawehinmi, Funmilayo Ransome Kuti, Ken Saro-Wiwa, Wole Soyinka, Chinua Achebe, Dele Giwa, Odumegwu Ojukwu, Sunday Igboho, Nnamdi Kanu etc is like shying away from the truth staring right at you. The anlawful detention and deaths of some of these people after many years never stopped the continuous agitation of the citizens and will continue untill the various needs and Fundamental Human Rights of the people and True Justice exists.
Some of the aforementioned people there, rose up as a result of injustice and nepotism by the Nigerian Government and got killed or died for the course like Ransome Kuti and the same thing is still happening today.
The funny part of it is that most of the politicians you defend daily do not really care about your existence, because to them, it's their family and friends. They keep milking you and your generation dry while you keep supporting them for whatever benefits you think you're getting from them. Same things happening in the country from Local govt to Federal Govt across all the geopolitical zones.
I smile when I see people fighting and putting their hope in these men whether APC, PDP, APGA etc.
The government today keep borrowing money and you wonder what the future holds for Nigerians and the next generation.
Whether APC or PDP, the effects of the economy is felt by everyone especially among the pooor masses (Average Nigerians) and these are same people with different clothing. DON'T BE DECEIVED.
If you're abreast with local and international politics/news you will understand that the arrest or death of Nnamdi Kanu or Sunday Igboho will not stop the agitation because many wounds have been opened and they have been able to win more sympathizers to their cause across boarder line, just like the death of Yusuf Mohamed led to the Boko Haram today e.g IPOB is now a global movement with presence in most Western Countries.
When you listen to most Fela songs like Beast of No Nation, you will understand the situation of Nigeria better.
"It's only in Nigeria that you see thieves regrouping to loot more while the poor masses been looted keep cheering them on" Wole Soyinka
Until the people are ready for what they need, there's no solution in sight.

Family / Re: Nigerian Parents And Oversized Cloths | My Own Story by Santinho: 8:01am On Jul 06, 2021 |
hbemigho: I believe it is peculiarly characteristic of Nigerian parents to buy extremely oversized clothing and accessories for their children.
I mean, how can you go to the market to buy a shirt or shoe for me and you left me at home?
How?
So my mum will take a broom stick to measure my leg before going to the market and then come back with a shoe that is almost the size of my father's leg.
Wawu!
Mummy edakun, bhet what happened to the broomstick you went with na?
Or issit that you measure my leg to goan buy shoe for daddy?
Of course, you know I cannot voice any of these out. Na inside my mind the conversation dey go on.
Or should I talk about how my dad will drive to Warri to buy longsleeve shirts for me and my brother, that after wearing the shirt, we will now be looking like all those overzealous upcoming evangelist sent against their will to win lost souls for Christ in the remotest of villages.
The painful part is that my dad will now be saying,
Wow! See as this cloth fit you. I wish I can take it for myself.
Inside my mind I wee be like, why not just take it na, it's kukuma your size you have bought so.
For many years, I tried to figure out why our parents were always exhibiting this behavior.
If it's because they want us to wear the cloths for a longer period as we dey grow like agric fowl, so that we won't be outgrowing cloths per second, per second.
But you know what usually happens?
Before we will now grow into the cloths, like when the one they bought for me is now actually my size, the shirt go don wash, fade or tear anyhow.
So what is now the point?
As a young boy with too much swag, I was always having severe chest pain in my neck whenever my parents wanted to get us new cloths.
The day I gave up on the struggle was when my mum accompanied my dad to the optometrist to select a glass frame for him
Brethren, my supposedly ever young fineboy dad came back wearing one kind glasses that had him looking like an old retired government secondary school principal in one of those remote villages.
The frame nor just fit am at all.
The thing was very oversize.
As in the glass frame big pass my daddy's small face.
My mum kept saying wow, see how you are looking so smart.
Omo!
Inside my mind, I was saying "yes make e dey go round like this."
This oversize ehn, everybody must collect!

Following keenly #SAYNOTOCULTISM saynotocultism: This is my True story and i advise people to learn from this and stay away from cultism. ![lipsrsealed](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/lipsrsealed.png)
I am not a good writer, just try to understand me.
I was 19 when i got admission into the Delta state university Abraka to Study Geology . I had a cousin i had to put up with due to accommodation issues as my parents are poor and couldnt afford it at the time. They had to borrow to pay my fees and acceptance fees. Reading geology was very expensive as i had to pay for field works, books and all other materials. I struggled through my first year into my second. My cousin then dropped out of school due to financial issues. I was left all alone in Abraka and i made new friends . I had a girlfriend in school then and we call her Joy ( not her real name ). Joy was also dating a cultist ( A member of VIKINGSSS) . I got a call from Joy that i should come to her hostel and we should pass the night together. She told me she prepared my favorite food and i rushed down like a hungry lion. I got to her house and we had a good time and even sexx . Around 9PM, i heard a loud bang on her door and i asked who the person was, YOU DEY CRAZE, NA YOU GET THE ROOM, JOY COME OUTSIDE I WAN SEE YOU, that was the voice i heard behind the door. I looked at the time and it was late in the night . I picked up my phone to call a friend to come get me as i sensed danger but my phone went dead. I then sat down in the room and she assured me that all is fine. She went out to meet the guy and they argued loudly and some other boys came in and joined them. The next thing i heard was AROMATE wetin dey happen, i immediately knew i was in trouble. She came back in and was shouting at them and screaming from inside, I KNOW ONE FRIEND AGAIN NA BY FORCE. I told her i wanted to leave and she said i shouldnt leave and that it was safer to stay than go out that night. I told her its better to leave than staying in doors and that could bugle the door at night pretending to be robbers and shoot me. I gathered courage and left and immediately i got outside, i saw 5 Fierce looking men and i ran for my life, they chased me and stabbed me , i managed to escape with the injury. The next day, i reported to the police and arrest were made. The police men that came for raid where also member of the VIKINGSSSS, they made arrest and released them same day.
