Emperoh: This needs to be clarified. I have heard of the performance of Ohakim in the past, as well as Chime. How is it possible that an alleged non-performer has performed better than all the other South-East governors in the area of road network construction. |

I guess the assertions by Sahara reporters that several Banks were already in trouble and had to be bailed out with N1 trillion turned out to be true. Sanusi's coming actually showed that our dear professor was practicing voodoo economics. |
Politics / Re: EFCC Wants Churches To Investigate The Sources Of Huge Tithes by Sarahluv(f): 3:34pm On Aug 17, 2011 |
LWKMD. This should be moved to the Jokes section!!! This is just too funny!! Do church members now have to declare what they have paid as tithes to the Pastor? Do they also have to publicly declare their Sunday offerings? Farida just made a terribly spurious allegation. How does she know that members pay huge tithes? I know no church member has gone to Farida to tell her how much he pays as tithes, so it must be that the woman has the belief, probably out of some form of bigotry, that Christians pay large sums of money as tithes. Even if they paid huge amounts as tithes, how does the Pastor get to know the amounts to the extent of questioning the amount. Farida, go and do your work. Next thing, you go ask people to go dey give account of how much them dey spend for supermarket. Perhaps MTN should report customers that spend above a certain amount of money on recharge cards so that we can investigate if they are spending legitimate money. This woman don turn comedian finally. |

Quote: "Boko haram, has issued a list of prominent Nigerians it might likely attack, _______ ________ the list had Vice-President Namadi Sambo topping it. Others on the list were Emir of Zazzau, HRH Shehu Idris. The Emir is targeted because, according to the sect, he connived with dubious people to cheat Islam. The sect’s spokesman, who did not introduce himself, in the recorded message, spoke in fluent Arabic and Hausa and declared that their mission was to fight social injustices perpetrated against muslims in Nigeria. The spokesman added that not only would the sect kill non-believers, but “also hypocritical muslims who connive to do harm to Islam and muslim.” " Such passion for religion; such gusto; such bravery. This is a divine battle in defense of the teachings. This is their commission from "god". Even if they die in their quest to spread the beautiful doctrine, 72 virgins awaits each of the men. Does this mean each female matyr gets 72 male virgins too? Just asking? |

I stand by what I have said: In Nigeria, Glaxosmithkline shareholders in the worldwide company hold 100% of Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals and 40% of Glaxosmithkline consumer (because they divested). |

Politics / Re: GlaxoSmithkline Gets First Nigerian Md by Sarahluv(f): 7:36pm On May 22, 2011 |
aloy/emeka: From your own quote, you said 40% stake in one company is pretty much the largest shareholding in Nigeria, yet you cannot decipher that 100% holding worldwide in the other Company indicates which the Global Company holds in higher regard. Now, the Nigerian entity controls Nigeria market for OTC drugs and consumer goods, while the Global body holds the core Pharmaceutical business tight and controls WEST AND CENTRAL AFRICA. If you cannot decode that WCA is bigger than Nigeria, then I can't help you. PS: You are a daft for calling me mumu. |
Politics / Re: GlaxoSmithkline Gets First Nigerian Md by Sarahluv(f): 6:22pm On May 22, 2011 |
aloy/emeka: Read my original post again. Chidi Okoro is MD Glaxosmithkline consumer Nigeria plc. This is a Nigerian Company quoted on the Stock Market in Nigeria. Glaxosmithkline international owns 40% stake in this, hence always influence who the MD is. The operations of this company starts and ends in Nigeria. Glaxosmithkline pharmaceuticals is a company with worldwide operations. They are not quoted on Nigerian stock exchange. The Nigerian office has Directors reporting to it from all of West and Central Africa. The GM is far above the MD of the Nigerian Company in the Company organogram. aloy/emeka: UAC is alive and well, so is John Holt and IGI. GSK pharma has thrived under Nigerian GMs. Most Companies on the Stock exchange in Nigeria have thrived under Nigerian Management. There have been cases of some Companies folding up, but this is not peculiar to Nigeria. It happens all over the world. Thank you for acknowledging that Awolowo bred stars who rose to become GMs. That is a great legacy. |
Politics / Re: GlaxoSmithkline Gets First Nigerian Md by Sarahluv(f): 10:56am On May 22, 2011 |
Chidi has had an inspiring career. He has worked as a senior manager in MTN and Globacom, and was recruited as Marketing Director for Glaxosmithkline consumer Nigeria plc in 2007. He has done us proud by becoming the first Nigerian MD of the company. hardywaltz: hardywaltz, why? Why did u have to say such a thing. Why turn it to a tribal thing? Let me educate you - Chidi is the MD of the Consumer arm of Glaxo (They make ribena, lucozade, boost, panadol, phensic, cafenol and other consumer goods and OVER-THE-COUNTER drugs) Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals Ltd which covers West and Central Africa with Nigeria as the headquarters for WCA and markets the core pharmaceutical products, however has had at least two General Managers: Mr. Olabunmi Olaopa, who controlled West and Central Africa from 2000 to 2004. After him, we had a Moroccan and a Senegalese, then the current GM, a Nigerian, Mr. Lekan Asuni, who has been GM since 2007 came on board. For your information, Mr. Asuni is in line to become the first Vice President of Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals worldwide. Now, Yorubas did not post about these two illustrious sons because we have such people at the helm of affairs of multinational companies in abundance. Hardywaltz, you have accused Yoruba people wrongly. I'd rather say that you are the one having wet dreams over what has already become the norm in blue chip companies in Nigeria - They have all had Nigerian heads at one point in time or the other. |
Politics / Re: Buhari’s CPC Sues Jega, INEC by Sarahluv(f): 1:11pm On May 08, 2011 |
What continues to amaze me is that CPC would have us believe that the elections were rigged in the SS and SE, even when their party representatives on ground say it was free and fair. No one in the SE and SS has come out to say the popular vote was stolen. These are areas that PDP owns almost 90% of all electoral positions. CPC is surely delusional. |

Do you even know where Sabon gari is? Can you tell us the description to the place as we speak? [/b]Stop living in the world of hearsay and denial. There are as many Yorubas in Sabon gari as there are ibos. You would also find that most blue chip Companies in Nigeria are represented predominantly by Yorubas ( for one reason or the other) in Kano. These ones can afford any rent a trader can afford. You talk about some places being called ibo quaters, are you aware that in Sabon gari, there is Abeokuta road, Ibadan road, etc as a reflection of the influence of these ones over there? Most Yorubas that live outside Sabon gari do so because the place is too dirty, smelly, and overcrowded. As you would expect from any high density slum. These ones prefer to stay in low density G.R.A. s or medium density areas. Quote from: Obiagu1 on Today You girls are becoming pathetic spinners. Just like you deny being killed, I'm not surprised. I'm glad you have nothing to say, as you cannot answer the questions in bold. Stop relying on hearsay. If you do not know, then you don't know. There is no shame in that. The pathetic thing is one claiming to know what he knows absolutely nothing about. |

Quote from: namfav on Today is sharia law does not promote murder, neither should it apply to non-muslims anyway, miss world if it had a agenda with the north then they had no business to be in nigeria if someone is to be prosectued under islamic law it should be dealt in the north, why should southern christian groups go up in arms? they should mind their own business southerners started to protest on amina lawal, a muslim woman, how is it her business whether she is prosecuted under islamic law, how does it affect the south? Miss World had no agenda with Northern Nigeria. No State in the North was to host the contestants. Anyhow, you have made my point - If any southerner anywhere expresses his view concerning an issue some Northerners are sensitive about, then all southerners must be hacked down wherever they are found for not minding their business. If America declares "a bin Laden" wanted, then all southerners must be hacked down wherever they are found for not minding their business. If a Danish man draws a cartoon, then all southerners must be hacked down wherever they are found for not minding their business. That is the thinking of the average fanatic, that is the core of the lust for blood. Still wonder why some folks read the signs and quickly found somewhere to hide themselves when they heard Bin Laden had been killed? |
Politics / Re: Panic In Kano Over Osama's Death by Sarahluv(f): 5:30pm On May 04, 2011 |
namfav: No need for falsehood. Miss world was to be hosted by Nigeria, and some fanatics in the North started making all sorts of noise. As soon as a newspaper published an article concerning the rantings, Christians and Southerners were murdered. The North flowed with blood. Sharia law wahala - an excuse to murder by extremist fanatics. I know loads of decent Northerners - they mind their business. Fanatics on the other hand, have been programmed to look for opportunities to cause mayhem; they would murder if someone sneezes. You asked for trust by saying how can we talk of change if we can't trust. We can't trust if fanatics don't change, and that's the truth. It is not a muslim problem, it is a fanatic problem. Unfortunately, they abound up North |
Politics / Re: Panic In Kano Over Osama's Death by Sarahluv(f): 5:25pm On May 04, 2011 |
Sabon gari cannot be said to be predominantly ibo. That statement is debatable, still, it is not the crux of the response to obiagu. Nobody runs to sabon gari to be protected by ibos. Let us not ascribe to any group, power that they possess not. |
Politics / Re: Panic In Kano Over Osama's Death by Sarahluv(f): 4:38pm On May 04, 2011 |
Unbelievable!! A human being typed this? Surely, you do not know Kano at all. Sabon gari is home to most Southerners in Kano, and not the preserve of any particular ethnic group. Those that don't live there, live in other parts of the town considered relatively safe ( all southern ethnic groups involved). As I speak to you, many whose houses were burnt and were displaced during the Buharigate wahala are still at the Police and Army barracks; all ethnic groups well represented. Obiagu1: |
Politics / Re: Panic In Kano Over Osama's Death by Sarahluv(f): 4:12pm On May 04, 2011 |
Sarahluv: namfav: I've fixed the links. They work now. 10 years ago, Osama was declared wanted, and Southerners paid with their lives in Kano for something they knew nothing about. For about half of the ten years from then till now, Southerners have paid with their lives for incidents that did not concern them - Miss world wahala; Danish cartoon wahala; Sharia law wahala; and more recently Buharigate wahala, even when the said Buhari won convincingly in Kano. Don't forget that the Buhari issue happened less than a month ago. Now Osama is dead, and naturally people would not expect those that have perpetuated all this havoc in the last ten years to suddenly become reasonable and detached from the Osama thingy, so they have to resort to self-help by relocating. You honestly expect me to trust a group of people that massacred innocent corp members et al a few days ago and expect change from them? Be real, Mr. |

Nadanbata: You don't care if we split up or not, yet u start a thread subtly telling us that the only way Nigeria will divide is with a civil war? You need to get urself right. The average Northerner does not care about the oil, yet he is ready to pick up his matchet and kill innocent people just because another Northerner lost an election to preside over the oil money? Another contradiction You also mentioned that it won't happen unless corruption goes, and the government doesn't care about the average citizen so we should stand aloof? Mr., we will not stand aloof. We will make our views known one post at a time. Recent happenings in Nigeria and around the world have shown that people take note of popular positions as expressed on the internet. It might not be immediate, but know that a movement has been started, and we will prevail eventually. Note that our primary concern has been how to protect innocent people from the wanton continual blood-letting in the North, and nobody just woke up and said "let's divide". You know the problem. Talk about how to stop the blood-thirst, and don't come here to condemn the aspiration of people to enjoy the simple "right to life". Talking of ethnic assaults, guy be real. Some unscrupulous northerners kill southerners at the drop of a dime year in, year out, and you haven't cared to condemn that as ethnic/religious assault, yet you come here to launch your own regional assault behind your computer screen. Your post: bollocks!!! |
Politics / Re: A Muslim Who Risk All To Save His Xtian Neighbours by Sarahluv(f): 9:02pm On Apr 24, 2011 |
Good. The man said he turned out the way he did because he had parents to guide him. Almajiris up North are rejected children with no parental guidance. They are actually taught how to murder and cause mayhem. They are indoctrinated from their tender age. Control the way parents dump their children up north, and you would have started solving the problem. Then we would have more people like this wonderful muslim man. |
Politics / Re: Almajiris - Nigeria's Ticking Time Bomb by Sarahluv(f): 7:24pm On Apr 24, 2011 |
Kobo, You got it wrong. They don't give birth to many children for economic reasons. They give birth to so many because they do not believe in birth control, marry many wives, and easily shirk responsibility for taking care of the kids by dumping them as almajiris. These children are abandoned; virtually fatherless and motherless. The mallam is their care-giver, but he can't take care of himself so he sends them out to beg and do menial jobs. If we do not as a matter of urgency implement strict childcare laws that would ensure that parents cannot dump their children anyhow, the problem will continue. You talk about free education, but believe me, the State governments will not want to spend that kind of money on free education. The corruption is so bad, that by the time the State government shares the loot to whom the loot is due, the almajiris are not in a state to be considered. Surely, you know that State governments are the ones that provide free education in the government schedule of Nigeria today Kobojunkie (f) Columbus, OH Posts: 23153 Offline Offline Re: Almajiris - Nigeria's Ticking Time Bomb « #12 on: Today at 01:36:49 AM » Quote from: jerryben12 on Today at 01:31:40 AM If these present Almajiris are taken care of, what happens to the yet unborn? The problem should be address from the source and not from the middle. The parents of these guys should be educated on the consequences of having children they can not take care of. How do you do that when some of the main reasons they have for having so many children is the believe that the more of those they have, the greater there chances of surviving? I mean it's like the poor farmer who cannot afford machines to help him on the farm -- he goes and has 10 sons, why? So his sons can help on the farm and so increase yield so he can better feed his family. |
