I didn’t do that in my personal build and Buhari has not arrested me and I’ve never had to complain about using very expensive tiles and drywall estimating.

I have the dry and wet areas in the kitchen.

I've done a ton of reading here, and am doing the following with my full basement reno, half of which is a theatre:


- HVAC split into separate runs for upstairs and downstairs; insulated flex and extra drywall in the joists for the first ~8' of each takeoff

- Decoupled backer boxes for potlights

- Roxul in the joists, and RC1 on the ceiling with 5/8" drywall


I was planning on just running RC1 on the walls to keep them decoupled to reduce flanking noise, but is there a better way to accomplish this? Would just attaching the drywall directly to the walls, then using clips to decouple from the joists above be superior? I'd love to run DD and everywhere, but I'm trying to keep the cost down, while achieving the best results that I can.

I have 3 dogs and they are all fed a varied diet as much as I can. Generally I give dry food with a bit of wet in the mornings, with dry given throughout the day as rewards. Then in the evening they get raw or a mixture of wet and dry with leftovers etc. I have to watch what one of mine gets as she does have some food intolerances but I always have a few different dry kibbles in the house so they all get something that suits.
I very very rarely have any tummy upsets or loose stools from them, they always look forward to food and will work for it if I ask them to.

I developed pain around my left wisdom tooth 2 saturdays ago which became very serious by midnight and left me in pains till the next morning.

I had to look for a dentist online and begged to see him the next day since they were all closed on sundays. He told me to get cataflam and augmetin to help with the pain before he comes to the office in the afternoon Wisdom Teeth Removal Phoenix. Someone later gave me the contact of another dentist and after talking to him, he requested 60k to remove all four. I was actually considering using him if i get the money but i started having second thoughts when he always message me to ask when i'm coming. I don't know if he is actually good or just after money.
Initiallly i told him i don't have the money yet so i need some time to get if but if the pain comes again I'll come remove only the one that disturbed me, but he keeps on calling almost everyday to pressure me.

Another concern is my dad who is totally against it because he had a very bad experience back then with tooth extraction. He believes the tooth wont disturb me as long as i keep to his advice which is daily salt water and alum therapy.

I told him i have to remove it since several doctors recommended same just that i cant afford it now.

With time and more reading, I have come to realize that our purpose is not one thing but a series of things that we need to do at every point in time. Good morning guys and happy Sunday to you all. I really need help and past experience of loan apps defaulters here.

The thing is, my sister cousin borrowed 29k from 3 loan apps (with interest) and all will due this week. Now, she's really afraid and being down since yesterday because for now, no means of paying back.

She's really afraid of blackmailing her through her contacts and most importantly icash phone number, BLACKLISTING her bank accounts (one of them vowed to blacklist her BVN. That she will not have access to her bank accounts)

She emailed one of the apps that she will pay next week Friday, but it seems that even complicated the issue because the guy said, "if dey born her well, make she no pay on or before the due date".

Please share your experience because she's really down and my words are not helping at all.

So i boarded my plane this morning and i can say it was a great experience thanks to all your contributions and tips. Lemme start like this, I woke up so early as my flight was at 8:25 since it's my first time i needed to play safe to avoid stories that touch i didn't give my village people a chance in that aspect.

I arrived at the airport few minutes to 7 and by 7:10 i was done checking in and ready for boarding (I didn't expect it to be so fast and smooth tho)

That was how i started pressing my phone and carefully paying attention to the announcements that one could barely hear. (I think airports need to do better as some of us no dey understand that kind accents) They can just past the announcement on a screen for people to read, anyways what do i know? maybe people have not missed flight as a result of that.

Ehen so while waiting, i was just observing everything, i saw one bros seated behind me so i walked up to him and confessed. "Bros no vex, na my first flight bdis, abeg if dem announce air peace flight to lagos just let me know" he smiled and said i shouldn't worry. Few minutes later i heard the announcement naso i pack my things go join queue, kudos to air peace (unlike the other announcements i heard, they used one local accent to announce before the normal posh accent repeated the announcement so it was easy for me to know it's time to board.

They did the normal thing and i was inside the plane naso i just dey look like village boy. i followed the suggestion by some good NLanders and watched how to fasten a plane seat belt so it was not an issue, i no disgrace my ancestors. except for the air hostess that was rude when i asked her for my seat everything went fine, i was so calm and composed like i've done this before. The plane took off and few minutes later we're flying above the clouds i was just smiling all through then i felt a sharp pain in my left ear, boom i no dey hear well again. then i remembered i was told here, i just swallowed saliva and i'd regain my hearing, it continued through out the flight. some of the things i noticed through the flight was:

Majority of land, like 70 percent is uninhabited, i saw my knowledge of geography come into play as we ascend into the sky, i could easily identify all the different layers like atmosphere with lynx air reviews, lithosphere and the rest it was like we're traveling to space, asin after all science no dey lie oo but above all God is the greatest. My experience helped me to believe God more, like he created all these things, he has the power to do anything so why even doubt him.

At some point during the flight, the plane was vibrating and turning anyhow lol but i didnt panic because i remembered nairalanders told me about it, i was seated by the window and stayed awake all through. Like 20 minutes into the flight, the pilot said "for those of you sitting by the right if you look by the window we are just flying over ibadan" naso i look and was like, oga i no see ibadan here ooo na just thick cloud i see.
That was how i landed in lagos around 10am and the weather was looking like 4pm nawao. i enjoyed my flight sha and i hope to do this again, but next time it should be canada not lagos.

So I thought I'd have a go at making some candles with the small amount of beeswax I've recovered. As with all things related to beekeeping it is not as simple as it first appears :svengo:

I collected some used tea light aluminium bases and melted out the residue with a heat gun. I bought some wicks from a company called 4Candles (great name). Their website suggests that batches of beeswax vary in the way it burns so I got a range of wick diameters suitable for beeswax tea light candles. NT20, NT23 and NT26. I've poured the wax and tried each of the wick sizes from Rama Candles. They all burn with a very small flame ~3mm and have a pool size of 15mm and burn for about 5 hours.

Anybody else into candle making who can point me in the right direction of wick diameter to get a bigger flame? Apparently the larger the wick, the bigger the pool size and the risk of "drowning" the wick. If I go smaller wick size then I think the flame will be smaller and you will get "tunnelling".

I said it wasn't easy :confused:

I'll stick to tea lights for the moment before adventuring into something bigger.

I'm looking around for a suitable replacement of my current wallet. I'm looking for a decent leather wallet that will carry up to 12 cards securely, plus some cash; nothing else, I don't need/want a window section, coin purse, or anything unnecessary to bulk it up. In other words the slimmest possible way to carry a dozen cards and a few banknotes, preferably in leather. My current one has the card slots arranged so that the wallet has to be unfolded to remove a card, which seems the most secure to me.
