Verbally has no bearing except it's reduced to writing (in one form or the other) or recorded as 'intent'.
Given the 6 mths tenancy has ended, (an assumption), in my limited understanding, then you default to monthly on same basis. In the event of eviction process, this month-to-month comes to bearing.
In any case, it's time to start looking dutifully and diligently without slack!
NB: In btw, by you requesting or demanding, you might or you'll end up doing the duty of the landlady or new owner
[PS: Addendum] above might fall away if you're subletting and do not hold a written agreement with deposit. Essentially, you're not seen as legal entity, rent wise. That doesn't mean you don't have recourse.
PS: these are opinion and do not construed legal advice in law.
teeebest:
Hello Elders, I spent 6 months already in my rented apartment as stated in the Tenancy agreement. My landlady just told me verbally she sold the house, that the new owner would not be subleting and I need to quickly look for another place.
I'm thinking I should ask for an official eviction notice with the hope that I will have some time to look for a comfortable place for my family.
How does these things work in this country please?

EB Visa Ineligibility
Certain conditions and activities may make an applicant ineligible for a visa. Examples of these ineligibilities include: drug trafficking; overstaying a previous visa; and submitting fraudulent documents. If you are ineligible for a visa, you will be informed by the consular officer and advised whether there is a waiver of the ineligibility available to you and what the waiver process is. Ineligibilities and Waivers: Laws contains the complete list of ineligibilities.
Misrepresentation of Material Facts or Fraud
Attempting to obtain a visa by the willful misrepresentation of a material fact or fraud may result in you becoming permanently ineligible to receive a U.S. visa or enter the United States.

EB: How Long Does It Take?
Employment based immigrant visa cases take additional time because they are in numerically limited visa categories. The length of time varies from case to case and cannot be predicted for individual cases with any accuracy. Some cases are delayed because applicants do not follow instructions carefully. Some visa applications require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after the consular officer interviews the applicant.

Thank aieromon and NotsonewMary. Great pointers and compilation (notably the official links). Surely, those that would take advantage must researchly read through and action accordingly.
From a US consular viewpoint, see https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/employment-based-immigrant-visas.html
The consular provides info on 'FAQ': the types of enquiries lots might want to know in addition to documentations. Such as how long, visa eligibility, even false documentations!
Pls note, for the EB-1 to 5 series of petitions,

- multinationals on the other hand are your Microsoft, Oracle, Meta, Chevron, Mobil, Unilever, big 4 firms and the likes

1.0 Mind sharing what your Master is. No pressure, but just to gauge how to link to other areas of accounting, circular economy or even project/program mgt
2.0 Age is an unfortunate yet wonderful factor that plays out in its own unique way. However, with zeal, it pans out real good or even turns around for better consideration!
3.0 Apart from ICAEW, do give ACCA or even CIMA (I'll hv to check if still operational or relevant).
If your Masters is accounting related, you will get 'tons' of waivers for your ACCA.
As regarding ICAEW, if you are ICAN from 9ja, you are in for heart warming news tonight (that may tilt towards a glass of red wine!!!) wink
[ICAEW] ICAN (Nigeria) members
As a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), you may be eligible to join ICAEW based on your experience through our Pathways to Membership route. You can also apply for a practising certificate and gain audit rights in the UK with our Audit Qualification.
www.icaew.com/membership/becoming-a-member/members-of-other-bodies/members-of-other-bodies-a-z/ican-nigeria-members

4.0 Do the 9ja big firms have UK presence or listed or brand known. If so, let their name feature prominently alongside your PM, CM training.
Nonetheless, get going on PM certification in the UK.
Get going hard on APMG Prince2 project mgt certification, consider Agile and draw strengths from accounting. Not so sure which side of accounting you defer. Whichever, the number crunching, logic thinking, analysing and summarising surely adds up.
Loosely speaking, APMG is to the UK (Prince2 PM) what PMI is to the US.

All the best.

I have been applying for professional roles ...
I am at crossed road as I would not want to get PSW and still continue with the care job.
...
I have done different trainings and have in house training certificates from big firms in Nigeria on Project Management, Change Management, Lean etc.
What certification can I do in Project management in the UK?

Can't agree more, especially the underlined. Just seeing this after I replied to Iboboyswag.
Inbtw, just some few pages back, there were lamentations on NHS!!! I remembered chipping in on the parliament committee work on health reform.

Senior man, God go bless una o.
Often times the claim about the state of the country makes one wonder if it's the same Nigeria that we grew up in?
The people that literally had vaccines in their homes when they were small, now claims there are no working primary health care centers?
Even remote village get them with the current state of the country
.
As bad as as they claim Nigeria to be, primary health care centers take delivery of many babies, provide pre, ante and post natal cares even in remote villages for prices you can tag ridiculous, understandably because of the low income earners(possibly subsidized).

Our wazobia people will say Nigeria is finished at every given Opportunity.

Ironically, the stronghold of Nigeria's health has been primarily health care. Then, secondary care went into near comatose. Seemly, tertiary is for the 'rich to afford'
I followed my mum around in the 70s, 80s and still observed in the 90s and next decade.
Had not been for the entrenched primary care, it would have been endemic by now. However, are things way they should be, nope. Fortunately, the structures are still there, though not as should be.
As regarding 9ja bashing, I'll just zip up. I know things are pathetically pathetic (BJ might talk), yet, there are things happening. For instance, incidentally I had a talk with someone #holidaying in 9ja at the moment. He's shocked with the level of electricity he enjoys in Ikorodu. More shocking, is how the road from Ikorodu to Sagamu is now motorable. This was a road I used in 2015 and spent way over 2hrs; now a mere 20min.
PS: this is not to say all is hunky dory.
NB: political discourse is off limit for me. I won't go that route for personal reasons.
iboboyswag:
...
Primary and Secondary Healthcare are functional in Nigeria and the reach is quite good. We might argue about the quality but there is measurable reach and things like vaccinations, antenatal and prenatal care are available and at a very subsided cost even in remote villages.
...
We can have conversations without trying to bring Nigeria down at every turn, and more because when we amplify these ills, we should not forget that we are Nigerians and are directly or indirectly a part of the problem.

Typically doesn't snow everywhere in SA (Southie). Inbtw, SA has provinces (like 9ja used to have b4 the 'booming' of States.
KZN goes way beyond Durban.
When it does snow, you tend to get in NE Eastern Cape, NW KZN (KwaZulu Natal), Freestate, and the unannexed Lesotho (which remains an 'independent' country). You might pockets of snow here and there in Western Cape and Northern Cape.
When you see people (Abantu) with blanket wrapped around, don't think it's for the 'bundu' only or not fashionable. Better for the line or splash on very expensive overcoat from the stores!
As for TMKSouth, yes, it does snow in other parts of Africa apart from SA (and her Lesotho!)

I'll attempt to
Edubond is not a guarantee but is a better bet than the challenging invasive statement of account. Kindly note, it's been said, still show statement of like 3 mths with some appreciable balance.
Edubond: https://educationbondireland.com/
FAQ: educationbondireland.com/en/edu-faq.aspx
You may use Form A (CBN overseas education payments through banks), however a sizeable numbers of banks don't. You may end up funding a Dom account.
You'll need university details.
Irish visa application detail. I posted one 2 or 4 pages back I think.

SireSommy69:
Please, work me through Edubond
__________
Godkiaz:

Go to transfermate edubond site and sign up.
Select edubond payment and enter your correct details - they will raise a payment invoice for you.
Princeadex04:
After paying the Edubond you will only need to present an account statement with 1.5 or 2 million naira. Though the source of the fund should be well explained.
juniior:

Use 4m out of that 10m to purchase an education bond. Trust me, it will save you a lot of head ache.
Edubond is the surest way to avoid finance related refusal.
Once you show just 10m balance,
1. they will look at inflow and outflow
2. Check if you provided receipts or evidence for lump sum lodgements
3. Request for TCC
4. Scrutinize your relationship to sponsor
5. Feel as if the money might still not be enough. Etc

It happened to me. I got refused even though I had sufficient balance

I had to appeal after applying for edubond.
I was hella scared I would loose my money but I didn't.

Submitted my edubond receipt and got the visa
bigmills:
For me though, I didn't show my sponsor's bank statement.
I only showed my sponsor's payslip to show that after paying my fees, she can still take care of herself.
If you can add the bank statement, you can but I don't think its necessary going by the rules.
It's important as @princeadex04 mentioned to show a strong link between you and sponsor.
SireSommy69:

...
Also, I am going for January intake...
*With a tuition fee of about €11,000 How do I go about with proof of funds? How much should I target and how do I go about saving it up, for how long?

Hearing Vodacom, I almost got booking a flight to South Africa and taking a trip to Midrand. Then, I remembered Vodacom has about 60% majority stake in Vodafone.
You indicated cancelling your 'new' (now recently old) Fibre Internet contract out of frustration. It appears you did not communicate in writing (email at least) what the frustration was to Vodacom before following up with that of cancellation: Essentially, write to them beforehand.
The challenge here is you might not be able to claim #incovenience on the defacto basis of law of contract.
More especially as you alluded to Vodafone performing their obligatory duty of installing your Fibre connection (albeit unsuccessfully).
Nothing suggest you complained about the botched installation or conduct of installation, nor did you reached out to Vodafone for 'performance of duty'. In which case, they might be 'compelled' to offer you relief pending resolution (perhaps a temporary 5G).
To compound, you seemly did not outlined/articulate (obviously not artikulate) your inconvenience hardship loss for which compensation would be fit and proper (causing Vodafone to be obidient)
Kindly note that you are not out of options to seek redress. All I've done is to outline (part of) those things you'll need to factor and/or address; from law101 basis. In essence, you need to factually concretise you #frustration (and loss thereof)
domin8:
Morning Guys,
Please, I need your advice on if anyone has experience with this.
I placed an order with Vodacom to set up the Internet as a switch from my current provider, Now Broadband.
The day to set up the connection arrived, and Vodacom, through their infrastructure provider Cityfiber, upon visiting, said they could not install it as they don't have all the equipment needed to do so, and it would take another two weeks to one month for them to conduct a survey and set it up. Out of frustration, I cancelled the order.
Now I do not have Internet either from my older provider, whose contract I have cancelled or from Vodacom, who failed to deliver.
Bear in mind that reactivating the old provider will also take about 14 days, and going for a new provider is the same thing.
Is there any way I can get Vodacom to compensate me for this inconvenience?

You shouldn't need employer's reference, rather it should be professional references. Not sure of NHS, but typically HR should/would request appropriately if you've indicated self employed. Also, link to your portfolio page, verifiable online, would be supportive of the professional: this is over and above.

hook up a breast cancer prediction model to a web based framework
web based version to have individual input fields
I want to start the development of the project web app first before brushing up some machine learning crash course to hook it up

The core of your work is the ML, then some DS. So start with the ML/DS.
With working model, you simply 'hook-up' to web with framework like Flask (possibly Django might be an overkill in this instance).
However, Streamlit might just get it all done for you
- clean up (preprocess) your dataset | #critical
- split dataset
- build model and fit to data
- save model
- load model and wrap up web interface with streamlit
- write-up explaining concept, consideration, parameters ...

training and test data set
This might come through in overfitted or underfitted. Both you want to avoid. More so for research project, you'll have to "discuss" this and answer examiners.

I am currently looking for a good project topic to use as my final year project topic and my project supervisor mentioned that he would love me to choose a top in the AI niche.
... ...
So after some weeks of research, I finally settled for the topic "A web based Breast cancer prediction system"
But then, I need some insights if it's possible to hook up a breast cancer prediction model to a web based framework (I work with Reactjs)?
How feasible is it?
I also observed that during the training of a prediction model using something like Naive Bayes the data set is divided into training and test set at a ratio of say 80:20 for the training and test data set respectively.
What if I want to make a prediction of just one row of data, will it turn out good?
I want the web based version to have individual input fields where one can enter their data and then this calls the prediction model and pass in the values and in turn gives a response of the prediction value. E.g "Has cancer" or "You don't have Cancer"
I need some insights on this because I want to start the development of the project web app first before brushing up some machine learning crash course to hook it up.

How far have you gone, research wise, with suggestions and uni web link given to you from the student thread (Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs).
Q3 might be looked at here. Q1 & 2 might get more responses in the student thread after you post followup clarity question The follow-up should be based on your findings.

Yep, you right and spot on. Thanks for highlighting this. It's one of the golden gems.
What I think I picked up from from the report is that pockets are here and there at local trust level or at best regional. However, the recommendation seemly suggesting taking it heads on, formalising it at national level (hence attempting roping Home Office in!).
Two extracts below (PS: too many to copy here)
Flexible working: [Recommendations]
89. Whilst we welcome changes made to the NHS contract that give every NHS worker a “day one” right to request flexible working, it is clear that this has been insufficient to make flexible working a daily reality in the NHS. No NHS employee should be choosing to locum or work for an agency to regain control over their working life. The NHS must commit to a review of flexible working arrangements in all Trusts, with a view to ensuring that within 12 months all NHS staff have similar flexibilities in their working arrangements to those enjoyed by locum or agency staff. Reduced or flexible hours must be made available to everyone, but especially those with caring responsibilities or those nearing retirement, and investment should be made in technologies which make home-working or remote consultation possible
International recruitment: Recommendations
72. Many health and social care workers have caring responsibilities, including for adult relatives. The Government must commit to revising the amount of proof that must be provided to bring an adult dependant into the UK through the Sole Responsibility and Adult Dependant visa routes to ensure that it is not acting as a deterrent to the recruitment and retention of health and social care staff.

TheGuyFromHR:
I thought the bolded was already a reality in terms of the NHS staff bank. I know some students who are on the bank and it basically works like agency staff in terms of you show up when you like, and still get NHS salary, blue light card and pension rights. I stand to be corrected though.
Hopefully, they take that finding to the logical conclusion for all roles. ..., lots of admin roles can be properly staffed for a change, even on shift bases (no need for doctors to be writing discharge summaries, for instance, save their time for real work, etc.).
All in all you are right when you point out that health and social care is a growth industry here, and many of the recent incomers would actually be well served in taking up training and other opportunities to stay in or enter that area, as it's almost a sure thing to eventually secure status.

Draft Report (Workforce: recruitment, training and retention in health and social care)
...
PS : I've only few areas touching in some of the talking points on this thread.
If Govt accepts recommendations:
- Those that want security of NHS might be able to do so with the flexibility they 'crave' for (almost at par agency/locums). [89]
- Those in the sector, especially NHS nurses would soon shout hallelujah because parents & dependants will be joining soon with less stress (in the voice of one of RCCG hymns). [72]

Indeed, interesting insightful reading. Thanks TheGuyFromHR. I read about a quarter or third, scan/'flip' through the rest. So much to digest.
Govt response (expected within next 2 mths, though with 'no govt's wink cry wink ), will indicate "what's next". Well, Lexusgs430 already dare the (no) government.
I noticed, unfortunately so, midwifery is in a state of mess. That might indicate the unfortunate, unpalatable experience of haydotzed. Summarised in para 57

Just within a week, the issue of staffing was discussed here. Lexusgs430 highlighted deep rooted areas, characteristic of him in light manner. Here we have it laid bare b4 us in this report. Oh, I spotted a 9ja in the committee
Draft Report (Workforce: recruitment, training and retention in health and social care)
This is a House of Commons Committee report, with recommendations to government. The Government has two months to respond

Members present:
- Jeremy Hunt, in the Chair
- Rachael Maskell
- Taiwo Owatemi

The health and social of the blue light sector really need beam light. A high intensity laser beam not just soft blue.

For others that have not read, perhaps unlike me who went about reading top-down, you might just do first few paragraphs, then flip to summarised "Conclusions and Recommendations" at the tailed end.

- Those in care would leap for joy on pay, opportunities and costed travel time yet watch their back with mandatory assessed certification and reluctant (international) sponsorship. [210, 211, 231, 233, 235, 198/201 (mandatory certification)] Obviously, £6bn funding inflow no b moinmoin.
- Those facing racism an unfair discrimination-induced disciplinary might get a ray of hope. [146, 149-150, 157]
- Doors of international HSA recruitment might remain open as-is or even more loose tap for at least another 5yrs. [62 to 71]

I can't but notice a 9ja submission: Lara Akinnawonu, Medical Student and Co-Chair of the BMA Medical Student Committee, Cardiff University

TheGuyFromHR:
This just came out today - makes for interesting reading.

Lexusgs430:
As usual, lessons would be learnt ...............
Staffing issues are historic and cannot be resolved in it's current form ......
I dare the political party, that proposes a total privatization of the NHS ............. grin
This report, might be a preparation of minds .............. wink

Congrats on your soft landing.
One will guess it's the housing contract. A relatively short one so that you can renew if it suits you or search for new ones: By then you'll have understand the system much more and got some records.
Generally gas, so indicate gas heating and smart metering.
yemstico:
Thanks @solumtoya for your inputs. Please can you expantiate on the "be careful of the contract...." do you mean the housing contract or the job contract? So I can know how to roll up my sleeves. Do I pick gas heating over electric heating? Thanks allot for your time.
