Politics / Re: Awo Family Without An Awo By Sam Omatseye (The Offensive Article) by Shokwen: 5:34pm On Jun 26, 2011
Thinking of it. Really we should not be disturbed by this article save for the fact that Tinubu is associated with the Nation newspaper. He has done himself a world of good to distance himself from the article because as the Yoruba saying goes," Omoluabi ki i fi owo osi juwe ile baba re". Yoruba people would have shown him "he had climbed the tree past the last branch" come 2015 literally as this would have been good campaign ammunition. However, can one be dismayed that this article was written by a non- Yoruba? I wonder if there would have been any Yoruba journalist who would have had the guts to disrespect a 95 year old woman, a very respected one at that!

Nairaland / General / What Happened To Nigeria.com? by Shokwen: 8:46pm On Jul 12, 2010
This may not be the most appropriate forum to post this topic, but unfortunately I don't know of any other. Nigeria.com used to be a popular nigerian chat site of the 90s and early 2000s. What happened to that site? It was a good hook-up site. Seun can u make Nairaland chattish instead of bloggish? Pardonnez moi mon Anglais s'il vous plait.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Are There Still Jobs Out There? by Shokwen: 5:25pm On Jun 28, 2010
I wish I knew how to sew! Honest advice- U'd get tired of a 9-5 job in a hurry. You're a graduate, do ur sewing with an educated twist if u learn fashion designing. White collar jobs are overrated. Some of my friends that started their own thing are now millionaires while one is still doing the 9-5 or sorry 5-9 (5am to 9pm) thingy. It may be rough at the start but I tell u if u've got quality doing the stuff u'd go places. Sofisticat is a multi-millionaire sewing clothes! Don't waste ur time looking for a 5-9. With determination, passion and God's grace u'd go places. After all Ralph Lauren, Hilfiger, T.M. Lewin, Hughes and Curtis etc na clothes dem dey sew- bottomline. Godspeed sister, go start sumthin!
Religion / Re: Pay Debt Or Pay Tithe by Shokwen: 9:05am On Jun 16, 2010
Ole! Go and pay your debt to ur fellow man so he can pay his tithe too. Give unto Caesar what is Caesars'. We over-pontificate and turn everything on its head. Thief pay your debt! When other monies come in u can pay your tithe. Do u know if your creditor is suffering? What have we turned Christianity into?

Romance / Re: At What Age Should A Guy Be Independent by Shokwen: 4:27pm On Jun 14, 2010
Hmmmmmmm. Got me thinking. Left home at 11 for boarding house, from there to Uni. B4 Uni was over, poppa had disappeared and momma was away. I've been on my own since. So when did I actually leave home? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Maybe I was never at home.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Firs Or Ptdf Oss, Which Should I Go For? by Shokwen: 9:14am On Jun 11, 2010
Guy, how u go dey compare the two? FREE MASTERS IN YOUR PROFESSIONAL LINE against being a tax officer at FIRS? Didn't u say u had a 2-1 in Elect-Elect? What are u thinking?
I'm sure u've never worked b4 otherwise u won't have posted this. Money is good but it ain't everything. Can I take ur slot if u decide to stay at FIRS? OK Let's even make it monetary. U'll need aroung N5 million to successfully prosecute a UK masters- tuition, accommodation, feeding. Imagine someone giving u d cash. Can u save 5 million in a year at FIRS? Unless u join them in st--l-ng. Plus professional satisfaction. Guy don't be shortsighted. Thank God for your opportunity and start packing your bags b4 I flog u for writing this post. Don't be afraid for your future. ALL THINGS WORK OUT WELL FOR THOSE WHO LOVE GOD! CHEERS!
Politics / Re: Awolowo Had No Equal by Shokwen: 6:00pm On Jun 06, 2010
If I become President I would ban intra-ethnic marriages and make inter-ethnic marriages mandatory. I luv me dem Igbo ladies man! They're fyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyne!

That way they're would be no Yoribas, Ibos or Hausas. Only Yoribos, Haubas, Ibosas and completely messed up mulatos like Efihaubas. What do you all think about my grand plan to stop y'all from hating?
Politics / Re: Awolowo Had No Equal by Shokwen: 5:53pm On Jun 06, 2010
If we continue to point fingers we won't achieve anything as a nation!
Politics / Re: Awolowo Had No Equal by Shokwen: 5:52pm On Jun 06, 2010
Make love. Not 'war'!
Politics / Re: Awolowo Had No Equal by Shokwen: 5:48pm On Jun 06, 2010
Let me be a little critical again.

Let's go back memory lane and do a trivial.

The killing of the Sardauna of Sokoto and his body being desecrated and laid on a table in the open for 3 days which laid the foundation for northern reaction and thus the civil war was carried out by:

A) Awolowo.

B) Nzeogwu.
Politics / Re: Awolowo Had No Equal by Shokwen: 5:43pm On Jun 06, 2010
Bigotry won't take you anywhere! Stop the hating y'all
Politics / Re: Awolowo Had No Equal by Shokwen: 1:58pm On Jun 06, 2010
LET ME BE A LITTLE BIT CRITICAL.

YOYUBAS GO TO IKENNE TO PAY HOMAGE TO YEYE OODUA. (I'M NOT SAYING THEY ARE BETTER).

IGBOS BURNT ZIKS DOMAIN.

REASON FOR THE ABOVE- IT IS CULTURAL. IGBOS ARE INDIVIDUALISTIC. THE CULTURAL SYSTEM WHICH IS PRACTICED WIDELY IN AFRICA( RESPECT FOR ELDER STATESMEN, TRADITIONAL RULERS) IS ALIEN. THEY WERE GOVERNED MAINLY BY GERONTOCRACY AND THE IMPOSITION OF OBIS IS BASICALLY CONTEMPORARY REVISION.

UNTIL IBOS SEE OTHER PEOPLE AS EQUAL AND NOT AS INFERIOR PEOPLE, THEY WILL CONTINUALLY HAVE SERIOUS PROBLEMS, 'COS IN REALITY NOBODY IS BETTER THAN THE OTHER! CHIKENAN!
Politics / Re: Awolowo Had No Equal by Shokwen: 1:48pm On Jun 06, 2010
THE MOTION 'AWOLOWO HAD NO EQUAL' CARRIES THE DAY. OTHERWISE WE WOULD HAVE BEEN DISCUSSING ZIK OR AHMADU BELLO OR TAFAWA BALEWA OR OKOTI EBOH OR E.S. IKOLI OR SAMUEL ENDELEY!

AWOLOWO- A CONTINUING TOPIC, 23 YEARS AFTER HIS DEATH. YOU ARE TOO MUCH!

Call 08032014445 for all the info u need. The pple at the forefront of this battle were offered 'incentives' of around N10m each and reabsorption but they refused and stood on our side. God bless 'em. Cheers!

16th March. Excuse the error.
Jobs/Vacancies / Intercontinental Ex-staff Meeting by Shokwen: 8:29pm On Mar 12, 2010
I felt I needed to send this post to sensitize people who weren't aware that it was actually ex-intercontinental staff who fought for better disengagement benefits and not any union. It's a group of people who feel things should be done the right way. We all sit down and allow stuff to be thrown at us or accept things the way they are. Well it's half the battle won with the enhanced package. Come to ASSBIFI office at Alausa, Ikeja on 16th February,2010 at 9am to know about our next line of action.
Career / Re: Zenith Bank's Employment by Shokwen: 5:10pm On Mar 12, 2010
@Toreg and Ziondougta, no union fought for your ex-gratia. We (ex-staff) fought for ourselves. I'll send a post when next we are meeting, so u can come and make your contributions. Cheers!
