Properties / Lagos To Set Up 7 Satellite Towns by simplelady: 9:09am On May 22, 2008
Population Explosion:Lagos to Set up 7 Satellite Towns
Lagos state government is to establish seven new satellite towns in different parts of the state as part of moves to decongest the highly populated density areas within the metropolis.
The state Commissioner for Housing, Mr. Dele Onabokun, who made this known in Ikeja yesterday said the satellite towns are to be located in the sub-urban and rural communities of Agbowa-Ikosi, Ado, Imota, Epe, Igbogbo, Oke-Eletu and Ibeju. He said the state government was also conscious of the fact that the location of these satellite town estates in various communities would further promote economic growth and productivity, saying that it would provide jobs and encourage manpower development in the host communities.
According to Onabokun, “The state government places a premium on provision of low income houses by putting in place a mortgage structure that would give meaning to the concept of affordability.”
He explained that the challenge before the state government was to uplift the standard of living of Lagosians through the development and maintenance of properly planned human settlements, adding that, “To achieve this, the government has gone beyond the rhetoric of planning by setting in motion a framework for delivering 40,000 units before the end of 2011.”
The commissioner further noted that, “We discovered that if the needs of the people on the provision of affordable houses are to be met, housing policy must take into cognisance the target group in terms of long-term financing.
“It is due to the absence of a sustainable mortgage finance apparatus that most housing programmes are believed not to be targeted at the low income group.”
He added that a critical look at the housing problems in the state revealed that there were high expectations from the citizenry in terms of government intervention in the provision of affordable houses
“Given the worrisome nature of inflation in prices of building materials coupled with the unwholesome activities of land speculators, undoubtedly, government automatically becomes the only hope of the common man if his dreams of ever becoming a house owner is to be realised,” he said.
He disclosed that the ministry would also be constructing under direct labour and award of contracts, some 2000 housing units in seven other locations in the state, which would consist of 1 and 2 bedroom flats, 3 bedroom flats, 3 and 4 bedroom luxury flats, 3 and 4 terrace houses, semi detached houses and detached houses.

my contribution to the above is that Church of Assumption Falomo(Charismatic Wing) has acquired some land before Imota in Ikorodu and allocation has begun for those that have either paid in full or partly paid. the next allocation is 14 of june. the sale is not limited to only catholic but anybody who is interested.

Web-master,

the 64 dollar question is: are you ready to sell your shares. if not tell him to hold on.
since you have been registered for trade alert, all sell and buy transactions on your account will be sent as an SMS to your phone. mind you the alert comes only after necessary documentations have being completed by your broker and the person buying your shares. you will definitely get an alert but it may not be timely

Business / Incessant Political Killing, What Can Be Done? by simplelady: 5:08pm On Sep 18, 2007
Hello,

in very recent time, many politicians have been assasinated for political reasons.
the incident is really worrisome. it acts as wet-blanket to those of us who wish to retie into politics.
when will nigeria politics move beyound this bar of treat that is highly characterised with assasinations.
more disturbing is the fact that the brain behind the heinous act are yet to be found.

what do we do to stop this evil acts

Business / Cisa Holders/isaca Members Upgrade Your It Audit Skills by simplelady: 2:02pm On Sep 11, 2007
this is a good news i feel i should not keep to myself alone. my boss directed me to a lecture centre with lab where one can practice CISA?ISACA related skills.

remember the challenge we CISA holders are having is lack of appropriate control skills.

Am not getting kobo from this publicity instead i will pay for lectures as you will

lets us utilise this opportunity. the ealier u upskill yourself the better your chances of getting IT Audit job either within or outside. Most have CISA but cannot practice IT AUDIT hence still involved in conventional audit

i have ACL Skills but is still not enough

if you are interested contact me on 08035771053 or juleo1010@yahoo.com so that i can link you to the appropriate person.

pls do not call me beyound 10.00pm as i value my sleep

Politics / Re: Lagos Has 2,567 Registered Prostitutes by simplelady: 2:40pm On Aug 21, 2007
All na story!!!! If all y'all think we should eradicate prostitution then what are the women going to be doing? If there are enough good jobs then half of these women won't go into prostitution. Anyways, do you know prostitution is legal in Germany? To all the prostitutes, go to Germany for greener pastures!!! :d

Ice zik

May God Almighty forgive your sins and make you appreciate women

let all the men in the house say no to visiting call girls and the profession will fade away.
is actually the male folks that should be persecuted for that flourishing bis
Politics / Re: Lagos Has 2,567 Registered Prostitutes by simplelady: 10:19am On Aug 20, 2007
can’t believe it. The moral of girls in this country is really low.

How can a single state have 2,567 Registered Prostitutes?

Registered prostitutes means there are still others who aren’t registered. Aren’t there better jobs, don’t they have families, don’t they have relatives. That’s awful. Shame on the female gender.
