A True Life Story

Don't look down on anybody, not even yourself - Allen Onyema(Chairman Airpeace)

When I was squatting in Oshodi, I had these garage boys, they were my friends and one happen to belong to a family that had the largest span of land in Alagbado, and he took me there.

I helped them bring some buyers, a week after I got the employment, the entire family sent for me, they had about four hundred plots of land.

They gave it to me, to sell on behalf of the family, the land is where you have AIT and some companies today, they told me to sell for #5,000 per plot in 1990.

I asked them what would be my gain, they told me "anything you put on top" is yours, we're not going to give you commission. After selling the first six plots, I run an advert at MKO Abiola National Concord, one of the biggest Newspaper in those days.

The land was selling like hotcake afterwards, So if I had sold ten plots, I'd be making #50,000, in those days #20,000 can buy you a brand new car, I was making millions!

That was how Allen Onyema got his big break in business, today he is the CEO of Air Peace airlines !

Have you ever visited the doctor, and you try to explain to him, Doctor, I'm feeling cold, I have headache, my temperature is high and the Doctor looks at you and say "Oh that looks like malaria!"

The Doctor is not trained to only focus on the effects but to diagnose the cause with the effects.

This scenario can also be likened to real life situations, that you find many things happening in and around you - they're the effects of something.

Job woke up one day and saw all kinds happening in his life, business going down, lost his children, in the space of little time he has lost everything he had, but all that was the effects of something going behind the scene.

To everything that happens in life, there's a cause, and this brings about the effects we see.

When you enter an office that's cold while the atmosphere outside is hot, you don't just jump and shout Hallelujah we are in heaven, by intelligence you know there's a cause.

Most times we focus more on the effects, because they're the ones we can see. If you treat the effects without looking into the cause, those effects will go, others will come. It will now become a cycle.

Don't just look at the situation around you, they didn't appear without a cause, whether good or bad, there's a cause.

Take time to look around your life, when you see good effects, try and know the cause in other to gain mastery over your results and if it's the other good too, know the cause in other to put a stop to it.

What is the major difference between an Engineer and a Doctor?

What differentiate a Nurse from a Chemist?

The difference is INFORMATION!

In a University like mine, every students coming in to 100L are mandated to take the same courses for one year. And afterward we proceed to our various departments to continue our learning. Five years later we all graduate with certificates, although certificates with different "titles," what then has happened to us within the five years, why do some end up as Doctors and some as Engineers? The simplest answer is INFORMATION!

What then is Information in this context? Information here is any bit of news that is able to influence you. The difference between the Doctor and the Engineer is not the body but the Mind, and the mind overtime is the product of what it has been exposed to, while for 4years the Engineer keep hearing calculus, mechanics, etc the Doctor on his own become more familiar with scissors, thermometer, stethoscope during the years.

In time, the two 100L admitted together as "science student" graduate with different certificate due to the information they've given themselves to consistently throughout the years. Information goes through the mind and the body is just an executioner.

You become what you listen to overtime, and you become what you see consistently, it doesn't happen supernaturally like Jesus Christ did on the mountain of transfiguration, No, it's rather a gradual step that tends to change the way you think and the way you see things around, to the Engineer all he thinks is mechanics, electricity, building etc while the Doctor majorly sees hospitals and think about patient more.

When you start listening to certain things for a while, your mind gradually shift unconsciously, you start taking crucial life decisions based on what you've been hearing, that's influence!

Be deliberate about what you hear, about what you watch, it's not magic, and it's not as though your body will be changed.

The Doctor diagnose patient based on what he's learnt, and the Engineer diagnose the car based on information he has stored over the years, and we all take decisions based on the information in us.
