MAGIC #1 Found that nobody can create a FOLDER anywhere on the Computer which can be named as "CON" without the Quotes. This is something funny and inexplicable? At Microsoft the whole Team, couldn't answer why this happened! TRY IT NOW, IT WILL NOT CREATE A "CON" FOLDER. After Trying it, I thought it's Impossible to Create a Folder with 3 letters but i was able to create many Folders with just 3 letters but CON, No way. MAGIC #2 Again this is something funny and can't be explained? At Microsoft the whole Team, including Bill Gates, couldn't answer why this happened! It was discovered by a Brazilian Programmer. Try it out yourself? Open Microsoft Word and type "=rand (200, 99)" without Quotes And then press ENTER, Wait and see the magic! Is this a Bug or What?? Magic #3 Am sure you all know that a flight number from one of the planes that hit one of the two WTC towers in U.S by Osama on 9/11 was Q33N. In Notepad / WordPad or Microsoft Word, type that flight number i.e Q33N. Increase the font size to 72 then Change the font to Wingdings, You will be amazed by the Findings, You should see the Picture of a Plane, 2 Tower Building and a Symbol meaning Danger.. This has actually been in existence even before the Incident.. Microsoft should be able to explain this. => Am sure by now, You should be looking for your PC/Laptop to Try them Out... Good!!! Politics / What You Don’t Know About Otuoke by smartattorney(m): 8:23am On May 10, 2015 |
By Gregory Austin OTUOKE, meaning Oke Family (Otu is family in Ogbia language, while Oke is name), occupies a small, but strategic position in Ogbia Kingdom. It is one of the few towns that a tourist can go to by road and on water. The town is made up of three major families, namely: Emom, Akatim and Akiniama. But it is also divided into seven political compounds —Asuka, Ebele, Eluan, Apolo Tama, Apolo Ogbo, Okporein and Obebhegbolom. From a small, impoverished community sitting on the road to Yenagoa, it has really changed into a busy town. It is one of the towns that make up Ogbia, sometimes, referred to as Ogbinya, which numbers a little over 266,000, according to the 2006 census. With the revocation of the chatter of the Royal Niger Company and the establishment of the British Rule in Nigeria in 1900, the British ventured into Ogbia Kingdom, and Oloibiri was made the seat of government. The first thing the colonial government did was to recognise some warrant chiefs such as, Apata Amangala, Chief Amakaro Onwiga and Chief Obonin. Subsequently, three customary courts were established at Oloibiri (1929), Emeyal (1936) and Amyama (1937). Later, these three courts were recognised as clan centres. Oloibiri clan consists of Oloibiri, Otuabo, Otnogidi, Otuabi, Otakeme, Otabagi, Otmegila, Opume, Emakalakala, Akipelai, Idema, Oturabala I, Oturabala II, Ewoi, Otuaba, Otuoke and Idema. The Guardian gathered that after a meeting of communities in Ogbia, it was resolved that Otuoke should be made the centre. It was gathered that as a result of politics and perceived jealousy, some elders and high networth children of the kingdom, which included a former governor of Rivers State, decided that Otuoke should not be made the headquarters, instead, a new town should be developed from the scratch called Ogbia. Initially, houses were built with mud and roofed with raffia until some people began to use the corrugated sheets. As a matter of fact, the then high chief, Obanema (king), was resident in Otuoke as agreed by the entire Ogbia kingdom. He began the development with construction of the first road into the community, which today, is known as Ebele Street. Otuoke is the only community that is connected by road and water in the kingdom; this was why the entire Ogbia community agreed that it be made the centre. However, the new town that emerged was called Ogbia, which was built from the scratch by the Ogbia Brotherhood in 1972, as ‘a centre to unify all Ogbia people’. The Ogbia language isn’t a dialect of Ijaw, as many people believe. In other words, President Jonathan is not of Ijaw stock. Traditionally, Ogbia men are palm cutters, while their women are subsistence farmers. Fishing is not a major occupation of the men. The belief of the Ogbia man about the creator is that the Almighty God created the kingdom. This is the reason for the kingdom not having a national deity. Since the Ogbia do not have a national deity, they have no common festival. However, the Odinade group celebrates the Eyala Otudul, signifying the desertion of Ebela kingdom, and also, Eyal Odemi by Otuoke at Iyiakpokizo, which is celebrated to show unity in the kingdom. Like other places, Ogbia kingdom had similar beliefs about bush and water spirits. Generally, in Ogbia, people do not go to bush every fourth day called Ake. It is believed that spirit like Egbafido moves about on that day. This belief started at Ebela bush where the deserted Ebala kingdom stationed. On that day, the dead people of the kingdom emerged to plant about. However, such beliefs are gradually dying because of the rapid spread of Christianity. www.ngrguardiannews.com/2015/05/what-you-dont-know-about-otuoke/ |
Religion / Guard Your Heart by smartattorney(m): 7:03am On May 10, 2015 |
By Prophet (Dr.) S.K. Abiara THEREFORE, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to GodÑthis is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will isÑhis good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:1-2). THE great apostle Paul wrote the main text to the Romans. Nevertheless, it is very much relevant to us in the body of Christ today. Significantly, this servant of God wants us to know that our achievements and successes in life are tied to the usage of our minds. In actual fact, it is the greatest asset given to us by God. The Bible says further in Proverb 4:23 that, “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” Our minds are like a factory where goods and products are produced. Therefore, our minds are to us what factory is to a manufacturer. It is centre of the processing unit of our life. Every thought and idea is generated and processed in the mind.It is, therefore, expedient that we guide whatever information we store in our minds. Whatever you programme in your mind will determine the kind of action you take per time. If you meditate on evil thoughts such as sexual immorality, theft, adultery or greed, etc Ñ in your mind, you are sure of falling into sin. That is why you are encouraged to take thoughts captive before it takes you.”We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ”(2 Cor 10:5). In the same vein, if you allow good and pure thoughts in your mind, the end result will make you a righteous individual. The Bible says, “From within, out of a person’s heart, comes evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, eagerness for lustful pleasure, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness”(Mark 7:21-22.) Our eyes, ears and other senses of feeling are the gateway to our minds. The mind has the capacity to retain and process whatever you see, feel or hear. This is why you must ensure that you do not expose yourself to insalubrious things. Christians who want to maintain their walk with God must steer clear of pornographic materials. Paul in his epistle to the Philippians warned further that, “Dear brothers and sisters, let me say one more thing as I close this letter. Fix your thoughts on what is true and honourable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise”(Philippians 4:. Why did God through Apostle Paul, warned that we should fix our thought on what is true and honourable? It is an indication that human mind can be corrupted by what we see or hear. For Adam and Eve to fall, the Bible says; in Genesis 3:6, “The woman saw the fruit was good to eat.” If she had not seen the fruit, probably she would not have desired it for food. The tree of life was equally in the garden, but they did not see it, otherwise they would have eaten it as well. If the government will not censor what television stations beam to the viewers, wisdom demands that Christian viewers must censor what they watch on television.Efforts must also be made to control what your innocent children view and listen to.Unfortunately, many parents are too busy to control the affairs of their children and wards. After conversion, you must give quality attention to the word of God. Doing this will enhance your spiritual growth and this will allow the Holy Spirit to influence your thought pattern. God wants you to be new and different in your perception so that He can be proud of you. When you obey His commandments, the best in you will emerge. Everything that will give you joy and fulfilment has been made perfect in the Lord Jesus Christ the Son of the living God. God expects you to constantly load your mind with thoughts that are true, noble, right, wholesome, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy.Doing this requires a lot of self-discipline. You need the word of God, His Holy Spirit and constant prayer to keep your mind whole. This is why it is good to examine what you read, the kind of movies you watch, and the conversations you listen to. You must not keep bad company because evil communication corrupts good manners. In case you are already caught in the web of evil thoughts and you imagine bad and negative things always and wish to be free, examine what you allow into your mind through television, internet, books, conversation, movies and magazines. Replace sinful materials with wholesome ones.Above all, pray more and settle more on God’s word. Avoid the temptation of going back to those dirty things. Bid farewell to friends that can lure you back to those old ways. Fill your mind with godly and goodly thoughts.God will not judge you by your physical appearance. He will judge you by what you have on the inside. God bless you! Religion / Managing Your Emotions by smartattorney(m): 6:20am On May 10, 2015 |
By Seyi Ogunorunyinka IF you are an emotional person, you will never satisfy God, because instead of the Holy Spirit directing you, your emotions will be directing you. When you don’t please God, you cannot achieve God’s plan and purpose for your life. In Colossians 3:15-17, the Bible says “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” I believe what this scripture is telling us is how to manage our emotions based on the word of God. In Verse 17, the Bible instructs that we should always do things in the name of the Lord Jesus and not by emotions. If you always follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, you will give thanks in the end. One basic truth you should realise is that whatever problem you might be going through in life, there is a solution for it and the solution is in the word of God. We all have emotions and we cannot separate ourselves from them but we need to learn to manage them. We can define emotion as “to excite and to move out”. Do not allow circumstances to determine your actions. Stay with your earlier decisions and only review them if utterly necessary. For example, don’t go on a shopping spree, buying things you did not plan for, simply because you observed a price slash, or you might end up finding it difficult to meet up with your other financial obligations. You should also realise that part of the devil’s plan for your life is that you should follow your emotions at all times so that you will not be able to please God. The Lord does not want you to be ruled by your emotions but by wisdom. He expects you to apply His wisdom in all that you do. What is wisdom? Wisdom is admitting that you don’t know everything. Wisdom is telling your emotions to wait while you think about a particular situation before you take a decision. A sister, who has been waiting for a long time for a husband, will be succumbing to her emotions if she gets carried away by the good behaviour of the first brother to propose to her. It will be unwise for such a sister to rush into marriage without first consulting God to find out if the brother is meant for her or not. This will save her from the anguish of an unhappy marriage. You should always remember this statement: Emotions will always tell you to hurry, but wisdom will tell you to wait. Wisdom will always ask you, why are you doing this? It will ask you what you stand to gain from your actions. It will ask you, “If you do it what will happen?” It will tell you, “When you do it, this is how it will look?” You need to pray for emotional maturity so that you can be able to manage your emotions properly. God created man with free will, but He sets before him right and wrong, and expects him to make a decision. A good example is that of Adam and Eve. God could have removed the tree of knowledge of good and evil from the Garden of Eden, but He chose not to, so that He could test the obedience of man. God has given every believer the desire to do “what is right”. He also gave us the spirit of self-control and this can be used positively or negatively. It pays you to use it positively so that you can manage your emotions. Self-control is freedom; it is not bondage. It only means that you are operating in wisdom. It means that you are free to obey God. It means that you are free to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. You are free to do what you know is wise. www.ngrguardiannews.com/2010/05/managing-your-emotions-1/ 2 Likes |
