chei, some of you are just plain evil. how can you tell the girl to keep such a secret like that? this is a potential marriage disaster we're talking about. i would tell my worst enemy if i found out something like this. the girl is her friend, and she deserves to know the truth, even if told indirectly. ha, marriage is a big deal, and there should be no secrets between couples, so if the guy is hiding this from her now, where do you think the marriage will be headed down the road? divorce is not fun o. pls, tell someone to tell your friend, abeg, before it's too late, and if she doesn't believe and wants to go ahead, then at least you know you did something about it. |

wrappers? most women nowadays don't go anywhere near wrappers. except traditional wear, and even that one is geared towards the older women like you said. wrappers can be so unflattering. i don't even remember the last time i went near one. but come o, if you want your woman to stay sexy and whatnot after marriage, it should be a joint effort. no be say na only her go dey stay trim. don't be carrying around a bear belly and expect your wife to still be looking like halle berry. go the gym together. |

dawi, it's obvious you don't know how to carry on a civil conversation on this forum like a matured person. why all the attack on everything i say? grow up, ok, it's not that bad. people like you don't see beyond their noses and don't know how to comment when a different view is presented to them. i won't respond to your childish comments anymore, so go find someone your age to pick on. |
Family / Re: Ladies Who Hold On To Their Father's Surname In Marriage by Souljagirl(f): 8:06am On Jan 27, 2008 |
dawi, what if tomorrow, things turned around and men could take on their wife's last names? what would you do? would your pride get in the way, or would you agree to it wholeheartedly in the name of love? you keep rambling on in your posts about hilary clinton this and that, but you're not even making any point? besides, there are tons of women out there who won't bat an eye when it comes to getting rid of their maiden name, but it is even better when it's a choice she made and not something she was forced to do because her husband says so. get with the program abeg. |
Family / Re: Ladies Who Hold On To Their Father's Surname In Marriage by Souljagirl(f): 8:59pm On Jan 25, 2008 |
aisha2, thanks for pointing that out to him. you've saved me the trouble. see him jumping to conclusions without even getting his facts right? its between a man and his wife how they both decide which names to go by. i'm not saying that there are some women out there who oppose it. everyone has their own preferences. it's just that the way men go about it like its by force to bear his name, that's what i don't like. if a woman wants to keep her maiden name and add yours to the end of it, by all means let her. what else do you want? hope you get that, D_D |

oyb, i'm so loving your last photos! damn, and i thought i was the queen of books! have you actually read all those? i'm so envious you know. because i've moved a lot, and i always lost many of my books along the way, either that or they were being stolen small by small |
Travel / Re: Passengers Exchange Blows In Moving Airplane by Souljagirl(f): 8:46pm On Jan 25, 2008 |
thank you, my person. i don't sympathize with the man one kobo. i think this zero tolerance policy should be implemented on all flights. no more warning, just throw the person's ass off the plane. i mean is he a goat that doesn't understand common instructions? i'm sure all the other passengers have cell phones they would have loved to be using, but they simply stuck to the rules, at least for the duration of the flight. jesus! and it is always especially men that do that rubbish. stronghead no go get you anywhere. akoba adaba, olorun ma jen ri. |
Romance / Re: Wife Beater by Souljagirl(f): 5:54pm On Jan 25, 2008 |
yeah wateva! me thinks that if you can't handle confrontation without beating someone up, it only makes you a coward. i mean we all face crazy people that are all up in our faces everyday. but do we resort to beating them up? no, that's not how its done. some men are just taking advantage of the fact that women may be weaker and may not be able to fight back. go beat your own mates now, if they won't squash you! learn to control your anger abeg. those things between your legs doesn't make you a man. i'm tired of hearing all these excuses already. |
Family / Re: Sleeping Position On Bed Threatens Marriage! by Souljagirl(f): 3:19am On Jan 25, 2008 |
hmm this no be laughing matter. i went through this phase with my ex, and i tell you, i wasn't laughing about it. i tend to sweat a lot when i sleep on the side close to the wall, and he wouldn't give up the open side. we fought everyday over it, as trivial as it may look. but i think in a partnership, compromise is always a good way to agree on things. this is not a matter of i'm a man, you're a woman. no. best advice, position the bed so both of you can sleep comfortably, so both ends are open, which is good for ventilation and easy breathing too, and if you absolutely can't depending on the size of your bed, room etc, then rotate. shikena! why do you people get divorced over "little" things? |
Family / Re: Ladies Who Hold On To Their Father's Surname In Marriage by Souljagirl(f): 3:05am On Jan 25, 2008 |
"shakes head" africans sha. make una dey there dey complain about names. the world is advancing and moving forward, women are being recognized as human beings in the society with voices and opinions, and some of you would rather be stuck in the dark ages. i feel sorry for you. anyway, its only a handful of people that still object to their wife keeping her last name, those that have a complex and think the wife is property that should be stamped! hiss! i'm keeping my last name, it is very precious to me. most of my siblings are girls, so it's even more important that we keep the name alive! if i had my way, my future kids would bear my maiden name plus their father's name too! oh, wait, i'll just name one child with my maiden name. yes, that's it! |

its bad enough that security has tightened since 9/11. i mean to carry bottle of water enter checking point, them go take am from you, your makeup too goes through screening, you're told to take off your shoes, belt and whatnot. with almost all your belongings being scrutinized, it won't be long before they ban cell phones on flights completely. i'm sure na human right never allow them yet. i wish people would just follow the rules like decent humans, save themselves and other the embarrasment. why do nigerians always stand out when it comes to following rules and regulations? |

make papa God sha show us how to deal with life. money and fame isn't everything. |
Celebrities / Re: Hollywood Star Heath Ledger Found Dead by Souljagirl(f): 5:57pm On Jan 24, 2008 |
abegi, are you God? i'm tired of hearing people say that someone will go to hell because they committed suicide. how do you know what happens at the other end? as far as i know, God is a merciful God and he's unpredictable, so he can decide to forgive him and send him on his way to heaven. i won't be surprised if Abacha went to heaven, with all the atrocities he committed on this earth. but then again, how we go know? nobody comes back from the dead to give us the gist. depression is truely a disease, and anyone who hasn't gone through it shouldn't even comment, but taking your life over it isn't the way out, that i agree, but human beings deal with things differently. |

just when you think naija people have done everything bush under the sun. if you want to see drama with naija passengers, fly with KLM. no time one naija person doesn't give the poor flight attendants headache. and what is it with nigerians and airplane food? walai, you will see people saying pls wake me up when they are serving food, and even then, after they eat finish, they will be asking for jara, or more juice and pop. na wa o |
Celebrities / Re: Hollywood Star Heath Ledger Found Dead by Souljagirl(f): 7:02pm On Jan 23, 2008 |
yeah, pretty sad. another story for the media to feast on. everybody don forget anna nicole smith finish. hollywood is something else, i don't know, but it seems pretty hard not to be involved in drugs when you're rolling with the big people. it seems a way for them to deal with being in the public eye. being a celebrity ain't natural, so i guess they're just normal human beings that feel they have to cope with it some how, but by taking the easiest route. and who said money makes you happy? its a big fat lie! funny enough, people were making cruel comments that if it was britney spears that had died instead, they wouldn't have been this sad! imagine! people are heartless, though i hope this will enlighten the other celebrities to stay away from the public eye. i mean you have to pay the price for being popular, but there are ways you can make it easier on yourself e.g. live outside hollywood (to birtney especially) the girl needs to find a solution to her madness fast! death doesn't care who the hell you are! |

i wish i knew how to quit you! funny, i used to like mimicking that line from "brokeback mountain", which is one of my fave movies. i can't believe heath is gone! the news hit me like a ton f bricks, man. i was sitting at my computer, moody from a shity day at work, and then bam! bad news! na so people just dey die anyhow these days o. Brad Renfro died couple weeks ago (the little boy from the movies "The Client" and "Apt Pupil" which i love) life is precious and nobody is immune to death for sure. |

yup. going on and on about a woman's weight might put her off, but when she sees your eyes going to the slim young things, then she won't need to be told. she go join gym kia kia one time. then again, no double standard o, if you want your woman to be slim and fit, you better work on your six pack abs too o. , no love handles and all that ugly pot belly. it has to go both ways now abi? |

TV/Movies / Re: I Am Legend by Souljagirl(f): 5:16pm On Jan 11, 2008 |
Neoteny: ouch, neotony you sabi diss o. nevertheless, i still like Transfromers, robots, autobots or no-bots. i grew up watching the cartoons, but i don't really like the fact that they sha had to put it on film. these producers/directors should just leave some things as is - cartoon. i really want to see "No country for old men". i heard Javier Bandem won an award and that he was BAD ASS in the movie. yes, that's my kind of movie - blood/gore/suspense/horror all in one. |
