US citizens do not need PPR because they don't need a visa to travel to Canada. When you receive a PPR, only your child passport photo will be requested. Then you'll get the COPR.

Please Google it if in doubt.

What do you mean by PPR? cos as a US citizen, you will be issued a COPR and a Permanent Resident card. US Citizens may not need visa to visit Canada but you need a COPR/PR card to live in Canada permanently.

As soon as you have the LO's US Passport. But at least 5 working days

Oh cool...thank you very much. Does the application have a particular format ie. Microsoft word or normal email ?

If a proper application on MS Word is required, do both parents need to sign it?

Thank you.

Hello My People,

Please how many days before departure should one apply for VOA or it doesn't matter?

Thanks in anticipation.

No, it won't matter. You only need the US passport to request for VOA

Appreciated.

My Dear People,

Will it matter that I would not have a return ticket for the LO when applying for VOA?

Hello House,

I was last here in 2015 after I had my first baby in the US. Then we were in Part 3 or so, it’s amazing to come back and find that we are now in Part 6. Good job to everyone who has kept this thread going.

There is a goldmine of info here and I have been reading slowly but still a long way from reading up everything which I intend to do.

But pls i’d like to make an enquiry. I know this question may have been asked and answered but becos of time constraints I’m yet to see it, so pls pardon me in advance.

I applied for a BI/B2 Visa in 2013 to attend an int’l conference. I returned after the conference and a yr later I got Preggy. Subsequently used the visa again in late 2014 to have my baby which came Jan 2015. I paid all my bills and had no issues.

In 2016, I applied for another visa to attend the same conference this time with my hubby. It was his first time, we were both granted visas and we travelled with our baby.

Now I got Preggy late last year and I want to use the same visa again to have the second baby. Baby is due Early Aug give or take 2 weeks and I intend to travel sometime in July. But the issue is that this visa expires mid Aug meaning that it expires while I’m in the US.

I don’t want to run foul of overstaying so my question is do I apply for another visa while this current one is still valid? Or do I take the advise of some pple off NL who says to just show up at POE and I wld be stamped in for 6months if I declare there that I want to stay 2months cos of childbirth?

I have written to the lagosniv email to seek guidance on how to proceed but yet to get any reply after 3days. Pls house, kindly advice so I can act quickly.

Many thanks in advance.

You are okay with your visa expiring while in the US.... what you should be worried about is to not stay beyond the date stamped on your passport by CBP Officer at the time of your entry. it is fine if it exceeds the date of its validity while you are still in the US.

" Q.14 My visa will expire while I am in the United States. Is there a problem with that?

No. You may stay in the U.S. for the period of time and conditions authorized by the Department of Homeland Security officer when you arrived in the U.S., which will be noted on the I-94, even if your visa expires during your stay." Source: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-gen-faq.asp#qlistgen14

Formal application letter showing the intended date of arrival, your Nigerian passport number, DW passport number, LO yankee passport number, intended POE in Nigeria, Airline, your Nigeria address. The letter should be signed . Scan the letter and attached along with a copy of your Nigerian passport data page, DW's data page, LO's yankee data page and LO's copy of Birth Certificate and send to the NIS e-mail address dedicated for VOA. keep Fit and Stay Blessed.

Thanks a lot..

The letter is in no particular format right?

If you’ve followed this thread from part one you’ll know that Houston, Chicago, DFW, EWR are one of the toughest and passengers under go great scrutiny there. I’ve been through Houston point of entry in the past year and I saw what it’s like

Wow... I interesting. Thanks.

Yes it’s normal if you apply for B2 and you’re granted you get B1/b2 regardless they’re under the same category.
Since you’re going to Houston I advice you to be very tidy with whatever you said at the interview or else it may pose problems to you.

Just curious, why did you pick out Houston?

Hello All,

Please how do I contact the USA embassy to notify them of my intention to give birth, even if I have used the visa for the purpose for which it was issued.

I just want to be on the safe side.

Thank you.

Please who can explain this, I received an email from CIC that "your application has been updated" but no new message or updates when I check myCIC account.

Has anyone here experienced this?

when was the last time you noticed a change on your application? if recently, as recent as Thursday or Friday last week, the email may be the corresponding mail in effect.

one question pls.......
MY DILEMMA embarassed embarassed angry angry tongue
so i got an update. additional document request......my intl passport has less than 6mnths validity while in process and av been asked to upload a new one.....within 7 days.
I have applied for a new passport since 10th May but unfortunately its not forthcoming till now.
Is it possible to ask for an extension? how can i go about that?
Is there anyone of us here wit a solid contact at PH immigration??
Pls ladies & gents your suggestions are needed.
cheers.

I understand you can ask for an extension. do you have any proof to show that a new one is currently being processed? Can you tell exactly when the new one might be available... did the agent tell you? You may also need to go to passport office and show some desperation with intention to pay more money.

Whats your AOR?

God's favour.

Yes please, in my case the "Yes" was actually for my madam and I am the PA.

So because we have already submitted. Do I wait till CiC request we fill out Shedule A or I should just do it and send in advance?

Well, I submitted the Schedule A in advance too...its said that you will be requested to submit it later in the process, once you have answered Yes to any of those statutory questions. So why not just submit it under your LOE bar and save yourself sometime.

Does it matter if its your spouse that answered yes, especially about visa refusal? would you still need Schedule A in spite?

My people, this may seem like putting the carriage before the horse.....kindly indulge..... is it possible to check/verify that all documents were duly uploaded after submission of application? (there is a doubting Thomas in me wanting to verify)..

Thanks for your patience.

hi -

I'll suggest you follow this up with your bank to make sure it was actually declined and not deducted. The last thing you want to do is to pay again and then have to chase up IRCC for a refund.

As for your CIC account, whichever way the payment transaction went, it'll come up with an update after "processing payment". Just relax.

Thanks Ehrnie.... you are mouthed.

If transaction didn't go through, it'll prolly change to payment declined or something like that then you'll try again. You got a dorm account? how much USD did u purchase to give u the Canadian equivalent.

Oh ok, thank you... although it still says (processing payment), maybe it is pending verification with my bank.
Yes its a dorm account.... I was meant to pay CAD 2230 and was going to be charged USD1,623.18.

Hello my people,

What would I avoid if don't include spouse's work experience in the work history session or what hassle might I be faced with if I include it?

Although I claimed no point for his work experience.

Good evening house,
I am aware the new draw is 423 and I am currently in the pool with a CRS score of 445. I would like to know if everyone that scored above 423 will be sent an ITA or it is a random selection from 423 and above.

Also, as regards my proof of funds. My account has always been busy with credit and debit transactions with total transactions in each month exceeding the needed proof of funds but the fund comes in bits and goes out for different business and expenses. If i get ITA and generate the amount needed for the proof of funds and stop debit trasactions on the account, will it cause any harm to my application? Or I am meant to leave the fund untouched (means no business with the fund) for 6 straight months, starting from now?

Anyone that knows about this should please shed some light. Thank you

Everyone with score from 423 will receive ITA.

If the balance on ur account has been up to an amount required since the last 6 months, then u are good to go....as we speak now...do u have up to the required sum in your account?if yes I guess you are fine IMO.

My brother. I am currently in ikoyi passport office to find out what the issue is. The story on ground is that they only started collecting march files last Friday.. They have backlogs to clear. We can only be hopeful

Thats not to say that one can't get Passport expressly, na money matters and talking to the right person. Will keep u posted once I get mine.

Please I would very well appreciate that.

Meanwhile do you need it to submit your application, or have you submitted and hoping to update your passport details using CSE? I am asking because that's my plan.... my current passport expires in September and I am hoping to submit application with it and update later when the new one comes out.

what do you think?
